I had no idea a country called Suriname existed before I did Kwaku Fest today. 🙈 But look, it's people are hella festive. Dutch colony - Its people almost Mzansi-like in nature. Biggest festival I've ever been to, mostly Surinamese, Congolese & Nigerian, but South Africa was most definitely represented. Not only are there 3 stages but mini "clubs" scattered in between the literally hundreds of food stalls. I walked in to "Thand' imali" by Mafikizolo in one marquee hosting a fashion show while Ytjukutja played in the next! The Nigerian "club" was the best! I'm most likely coming back for the finale concerts on Friday - for Jah Cure. Just because Reggae. 😎 #InsaneSundays #KwakuFestival #KeSummer 🙌🏽 (at Nelson Mandelapark)
