Summary: Taemin wants you, but you're oblivious to him. Your attention and affection is pointed at Kibum, but Taemin won't let it keep going on that way.
Find the original version of this fic here, and my main blog here.
Taemin watches you from his seat in the back of the class. You bow deeply to the teacher and apologize for being late, your eyes had been screwed shut when you did so. Nobody else would have noticed, but he did. He always noticed. You had exactly three classes on Tuesday and you would walk back to your dorm at exactly 2:07 PM, arriving by 2:19 at the latest. If you picked up a coffee from the local shop, you would add two dashes of cinnamon and be home at 2:34 by the latest.
At 3:30, you would leave your house to go to your second class. You'd be gone until 7:15 and then not come out again. During today's class, you chewed your gum longer than usual. "Taemin. Lee Taemin! Pay attention." The professor scolds him and proceeds to ask his question regarding the history of film and who had started it.
"The Edison Company, in 1891. It was demonstrated and shown that a single person could view a film at a time." He responds, bored.
You scribble the information down in your notes and direct your attention back to the professor, determined. You had almost failed the class last semester and you were not looking to have to deepen your college debts.
The rest of the class goes by in the blink of an eye for Taemin, but in a long, painful stretch for you. He watches you gather your things and put them in your bag in the same order as always. Tablet, notebook, pen case. You pull out your phone in the same way as always, from your back right pocket. He takes note of your new lock screen. It's a boy. Who? Who was stealing his precious y/n's heart from him?
You open your messages with Kibum, smiling to yourself. You really liked him, he made your heart flutter. He would always crack jokes and make you laugh, but he had a sweet side that made you fall for him.
K: I have a surprise
K: Meet me outside the coffee shop we like at 2:30, okay?
y/n: I'll be there
K: I'm excited to see you, y/n
K: Is it too much if I say that?
K: Sorry
y/n: I'm excited to see you more, Bum.
Taemin grits his teeth as he watches you text the mystery man, the words exchanged unknown to him. You're smiling widely as you exit, tucking your phone away.
When you stop at the coffee shop, Taemin was already inside. It was Tuesday, you always got coffee on this day. He watches as Kibum waves you over to his table. Your neutral expression immediately turns into an uncontrollable smile when you sit down. You're ecstatic to see Kibum, his colored contacts catching your attention right away.
"Multicolored eyes now? I love them." You say, resting your head on your hand.
"I was thinking about something new for a while, why not have one brown and one green? Maybe I'll catch the attention of Mr. Choi when I audition for the lead role," he muses, making an over exaggerated expression.
Taemin hates it when you laugh at someone that's not him. Your beautiful smile, your laugh, it should be for him and only him. He has to get rid of this blonde-haired monster taking you from him.
As you and Kibum talk, a single piece of cake and two coffees arrive at your table. Who was it for? "Hey, y/n, do you wanna share?" Kibum asks you, taking a chunk off with his fork.
"I don't know, do I?" You respond, pulling the plate towards you a bit.
"We're like Lady and the Tramp this way, we couldn't share," he laughs and starts waving his hand in the air, eyes forming little slits.
"Of course I'd share. You really think we got one piece of cake just to fight over it?" You say between giggles. He eats his small piece of cake and his eyes go wide at the flavor.
"y/n, oh my god, you really have to try this," he moans as he savors the taste of the dessert. You do as he says and immediately go in for more, shocked at how good it is.
"I have great taste," is all you can say.
Taemin is about to get up and go murder this guy right now. He's making you happy, only he should do that. Why are you even with someone else?
You and Kibum end up staying a few hours until he says he has to get going. You had missed your class, it wasn't on purpose, but what could you say? Kim Kibum had captured all of your attention. He grabs your hand as he leads you out of the shop. "y/n," he says, eyes meeting yours. "I really like you, and I was hoping that maybe we c-"
"Yes. Absolutely yes. One million times over." You cut him off, squeezing his hand.
He leans in and places a kiss on your lips, both of your eyes fluttering shut. When he pulls away, he feels like he's in a daze as his vision comes back into focus on your face. "Okay." is all he can say, a wide smile covering his features.
You and Kibum find yourselves spending every moment together possible. Turns out he's your partner for the final group project coming up in your major class, so you're going to have to spend even more time together. Taemin also knows more. He's studied up on Kibum, even memorizing his dorm, now.
He's decided he's going to get rid of this man for good, he can't watch as you're taken away from him anymore. He lurks behind the living room couch where Kibum sits, knife in hand. Taemin assumes he's on the phone when he asks you how long you'll take. Too bad you have to hear him die.
Kibum feels the knife go through his chest and screams. "HELP!" he calls, taking sharp breaths. Taemin stabs at him again until the couch is covered in his victim's blood, gone for good.
"Kibum, what the hell is going o- TAEMIN?!" You yell, seeing your lover's dead figure and your classmate's blood-covered clothes.
Blood stains Kibum’s chest and back, a bit of it splattered on his face.
Taemin drops his knife and walks over to you slowly, his hand finding its way under your chin. "Now we can finally be together, y/n, aren't you happy?"
You take a shaky breath as tears flow down your face, the loss of Kibum hitting you hard. You're terrified of the circumstances you're stuck in right now, Taemin is your captor. "Don't cry, y/n," Taemin looks at you affectionately. "It's just you and me now."
Thank you so much! Ah, kibummie my love, I’m so happy to write him always! I hope you enjoy!
“Bammie!” You call out loud enough for him to hear from his office down the hall, “Can you come here please?”
You hear your partner’s footsteps, followed by those of his two dogs, as he makes his way towards you, lazing on the sofa in the living room. You tilt your head back to look at him as he arrives, smiling softly at him as Comme Des and Garçons jump up onto you for snuggles.
“Everything okay, jagi?” Kibum asks you, leaning over to pet Garçons to calm his barking.
“I’m okay,” You nod, “Just thirsty, can I please have a drink?”
Kibum bites his lip, closing his eyes as he inhales deeply, and then exhales out of his nostrils slowly. You sit up, knowing the action is one he only performs when he is frustrated and angry. You watch as he kneels down beside you, his gaze fixed on yours, making you feel small next to him.
“I think I’ve spoiled you too much these last few days,” He sighs, reaching forward to trail his fingertips across your jawline, “You can’t even fetch yourself a glass of water?”
You realise that he is right, that you definitely could have done it yourself, but you weren’t thinking, as he had been doing everything for you lately. You know that you have two options here, apologise, or play dumb and see where that will get you, and you need to choose fast.
“Sorry, oppa,” You murmur, “I just missed you.”
Kibum rolls his eyes, though he laughs too as you pout, trying to get away with how bratty you have been, though you know that is not going to work. Kibum combs his fingers through your hair, knotting them as he reaches the base of your scalp, he turns your head to face him, and you know you are done for.
“Now, now, baby,” He purrs, “Come, I think tonight I need to be spoiled by you.”

“I have no idea where to go next,” you exhaled, and your employee Karla glanced at you, soon sharing a sympathetic smile and a nod of her head.
“Me too. Life is hard, but we’ve just got to carry on, Y/N.”
Staring at the younger girl, you soon realised what she meant, and an amused grin crossed your lips. Pointing to the stack of dresses you were marking down, you waited until she noticed what you meant.
Karla merely looked at you for further explanation.
“Thank you for sharing that bit of motivational talk, Karla. Life is hard, but I’m talking about the dresses here. I don’t know why they didn’t sell! I’ve already reduced their price, and now it’s getting dangerously close to the warehouse value. I know some things don’t sell as easily as others, but I had a really good feeling about them.”
Karla made an O with her mouth and then inspected her nails. She was a nice girl, and when it came to fashion, she knew her stuff. But she wasn’t so supportive outside of that. You realised as her boss and the owner of this boutique store, she wasn’t meant to be your sounding board for everything. You just needed to be more assertive to survive in this industry.
And you had done your best with your latest season trends. You had researched daily, keeping up with the hottest styles and accessories. You had sourced out styles that were selling well and ensured the prints you chose were wearable and more unique than the other stores in the local area.
Having a brick and mortar store had always been a dream for you when you first started selling clothes online from within your garage. Now only two years later, you had achieved that dream. The reality was far from the idyllic view you once held of running your own fashion store where everyone loved your vision.
Getting clientele to shop in-store than online was harder than you expected, too.
“That dress is being sold down the road,” Karla suddenly mentioned, and you stopped ruminating over your problem, your eyes narrowing on the spoken information.
“Down the road? At Unlock? Why are you only sharing this with me now? For how much?!”
“Boss, find your Zen. Key isn’t worth getting worked up over. He has a different vision than we do.”
“But he’s selling the same items as us again,” you grumbled, your heckles still up.
Kim Kibum, or Key as he was more commonly known within fashion circles, was your biggest competition in the area. At first, you had admired the man. He had a way with fashion that always left you confused, yet inspired. Everything, even the most questionable of outfits, seemed to work on him, and when he had first walked into your store and complimented your setup, you had been stoked.
Until after his proper examination of your entire vision and layout, he went and opened a store five doors down that had several key statement pieces of your current collection in his front window.
“That thieving man,” you muttered, remembering back to when the dresses came in. You had displayed them in the front window for the first week. You had basically given him the ammunition yourself.
Kibum wasn’t the only one selling the dress, though. You knew of a couple more boutiques nationwide stocking it also. The difference was you were both in the same place trying to make the same dress sell.
And it seemed he had managed that whilst you hadn’t.
“Karla, mind the shop for me, won’t you? I’ll be fifteen.”
“Zen, Y/N! Don’t argue today!”
“Inner peace will come after this, don’t worry!” you called over your shoulder before marching down the sidewalk and right into Unlock. Unlike in your store, where you chose music that suited the tone of your vision, Kibum’s was edgier and the music was louder. You used it to your advantage to slip in mostly unnoticed and moved right to the racks near a wall.
You found the dress and gasped at the price he had it at.
“Y/N, usually it’s always a pleasure to see you, but we agreed we wouldn’t snoop around in each other’s stores personally.”
You grunted at the man who appeared at your side and placed your hands firmly on your hips. “I see your stealth tactics are still ever so impeccable.”
The smirk that crossed Kibum’s lips wasn’t lost on you and was all the invitation you required to scowl at the man.
“Now, Y/N, are you trying to flatter me or insult me?”
“I wish you would play fair.”
“I am. This is my store. What you do in yours is completely your decision. And the same happens here.”
“You know I’m carrying this dress, and you made me look like the price I’ve had it at is unreasonable.”
“Your price mark-up isn’t my concern,” he explained and then gestured to his staff only door. “However, if you’d like to have a coffee with me-”
“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t try to make my boutique look-”
A handsome man approached you both then, and you noticed the immediate unease in your opponent. The stranger glanced between you both before chuckling. “Ah, so this is that Y/N you like, huh?”
“What?”
“I’m Choi Minho, Key’s friend.”
“Ex-friend now,” Kibum muttered, rolling his eyes and letting out a sigh.
“I’m sorry, you’re mistaken. This man has nothing but contempt for me and my business,” you clarified, and Minho frowned, looking at Kibum, who was visibly facing inner turmoil.
Feeling some decency towards him, you backed off. You might dislike the man, but you didn’t like seeing him suffer either.
However, Kibum reached out for your wrist. “There’s a reason for the dress.”
“Which is?”
“It got you in here, didn’t it? You’ve avoided me forever now. You’ve got me blocked on all social media and-”
“Are you serious? You’re going to tell me this was to get me in here so you could apologise for snooping on my boutique and taking my clients?”
Kibum, cringed, shaking his head. “No. Whatever you think I’ve done isn’t something I would do. Having a good business ethic matters to me too, no matter what you think of me.”
“Then?”
Kibum glanced at his friend, who subtlety gave him encouragement with a raised fist. Returning his focus to you, Kibum’s confidence was back together. “Coffee. I want to have some time with you. Not as a fashion store owner. But as the person you are.”
“I don’t drink coffee,” you blurted out immediately, mostly from the shock. Kibum’s expression didn’t falter, but his eyes grew guarded. Waving your hands around, you laughed sheepishly. “I like tea, though!”
“Tea,” he echoed, his lips curling up. “Tea, juice, heck, even water is fine by me. Just give me an hour of your time.”
“Deal. And about the dress?”
“I’ll pull it from the line and tell people where to find it if you really want me to,” he offered, which surprised you.
“You’d do that?”
Kibum grinned wickedly. “Sure, it’s online. Everyone can find it there.”
Hi! If it isn't too much to ask, could I request something along the lines of a Small Town Friends-to-Lovers AU with Key? I'd prefer fluff but I'm sure anything you write will be great!
Of course, anon! It’s definitely not too much to ask, and I hope you like what I came up with!

“Hi, Marie,” you grinned as you stepped into the ice cream shop, holding the door open for your best friend behind you.
“Hey, you two,” Marie replied with a friendly smile. “Just let me know when you’re ready to order.”
Key let out a sort of frustrated huff behind you, but you didn’t turn around to look at him. You didn’t want to give him the satisfaction right now.
“You can’t just distract me with ice cream,” he said in pointed tones.
“I can, and I am,” you told him casually, your eyes scanning the menu above the counter. You knew exactly what you wanted, of course, since you’d been coming here for years... but you still didn’t want to make eye contact with Key, so perusing your ice cream options was your only choice.
Again, Key let out a frustrated huff. “Y/N, come on,” he murmured. “We have to talk about it sooner or later. Graduation is next week.”
Rather than responding to him, telling him you certainly did not have to talk about it -- not just sooner or later, but ever -- you simply stepped up to the counter and waved your hand to get Marie’s attention.
The owner of the shop sidled up on the other side of the counter, eyebrows raised expectantly as she waited for you to place your order.
“One chocolate chip cookie dough in a waffle cone, and one rainbow sherbet in a cup, please,” you requested, shooting Marie a sweet smile.
“You got it, sweetie,” Marie winked. “Coming right up.”
“Y/N,” Key sighed before you felt his hands come down on your shoulders.
“Rainbow sherbet is your favorite,” you said in a sing-song tone, finally turning to face him.
Key pursed his lips, and you began to feel slight pangs of guilt for avoiding him like you were...
But you really didn’t want to talk about what he wanted to talk about!
Even though it was inevitable!
If you didn’t talk about it, things could get really sad and awkward!
And Key had been your best friend since Kindergarten, practically, so there was no way you were going to jeopardize your friendship.
“What else is there to talk about?” you finally said, lifting your shoulders (and Key’s hands) into a shrug.
“Uh, let’s see,” Key replied in the sassiest of tones. “We could start by talking about the fact you still haven’t decided where you’re going to school.”
Your heart began to beat just a bit more quickly, and your gaze flitted to the side, avoiding Key’s.
“I have plenty of time,” you chuckled awkwardly.
“You do not! We graduate next week! You can’t go into summer vacation not knowing where you’re going to college!”
“I’m sure plenty of people do it!” you defended.
Key opened his mouth to issue a retort, but Marie interrupted by handing his sherbet cup over the counter.
“One rainbow sherbet,” she announced happily.
Key thanked her after taking the cup, grabbed a spoon, and then issued his retort.
“I don’t care if other people do it,” he told you. “I care that you’re doing it. Because you’re my best friend, and I just don’t understand --”
“Well, I don’t understand why you want to leave so badly,” you interjected.
Key simply let out a single laugh before digging into his sherbet and sticking his spoon in his mouth.
“What? What’s so funny?” you asked as Marie handed over your chocolate chip cookie dough cone.
Your best friend threw a quirked brow your way, and you shrugged innocently before taking a rather large bite of your ice cream.
“You know I don’t belong here,” Key said quietly as the two of you plopped onto some barstools by the window.
And, yes, you did know that. Or, at least, you knew he’d been talking about leaving for about five years now.
The thing was -- you and Key grew up (and currently lived) in a very small town. Everyone knew each other, and things rarely ever changed.
But Key loved change. He liked to shake things up.
You did not.
Change... kind of terrified you.
So the fact Key wanted to leave and most likely never come back... kind of terrified you.
Because you didn’t want to leave.
You liked things the way they were, and you never wanted anything to change. Ever.
“It’s not so bad here, though,” you said for probably the twentieth time. “You could go to college, become a teacher, and then come back here and teach theater or music or something!”
Key simply let out a very heavy sigh.
You knew that wasn’t going to happen, but you figured you would offer it up as a suggestion anyway. It doesn’t hurt to try, right?!
“I don’t want to leave you here,” he finally murmured.
“I don’t want you to leave me here, either!”
“So just come with me! We’ll go to school together! We’ll build a whole new life together!” he pleaded, almost to the point of actually begging you on his knees.
Your brow furrowed deeply, and you stared at your chocolate chip cookie dough cone, watching as it slowly melted and dripped over your finger.
You wanted to.
You wanted to go with him, but... what about your family? What if you left and things fell apart without you? Or what if you left and things got better without you? What if you hated going to college? What if you flunked out? What if you didn’t make any new friends?
All of these ‘what ifs’ just made you so anxious! It would be so much easier, so much better if you just stayed here.
I mean... you wouldn’t have Key if you just stayed here. So that definitely wouldn’t be better.
“Please,” Key whispered, moving to rest his head on your shoulder. “I don’t want to do life without you.”
You knew you couldn’t give him the answer he wanted. Not right now, and maybe not ever.
But you could tell him, “I’ll think about it.”
“You’ll really think about it?”
“...Yes. I will really think about it.”
You would certainly try. For him.
Graduation came and went in a total blur. I mean, it didn’t actually last that long because there were less than thirty students graduating, but still. It seemed to pass in just the blink of an eye.
The few days after graduation, Key was busy packing up. Unsurprisingly, he had decided to enroll in summer classes, so he was set to move out in just a week or two.
So while he was busy packing, you were busy distracting yourself and denying everything. Pretending like it wasn’t happening. Pretending like he was packing for vacation.
When the time came for him to actually leave.... well, you still told yourself he was coming back. Even when he was hugging you tightly and you could hear him sniffling, you still smiled. You were convinced he wasn’t leaving for good.
Even though he was.
Things didn’t really hit you until the next weekend.
Usually, you and Key spent afternoons after school together doing homework; the weekends were reserved for everything fun. And when Key, things were always fun. You would see a movie or go shopping or talk about what your classmates had worn that week or whatever your hearts desired.
As long as it didn’t require too much money or a car.
You were high school students in a small town, after all.
At least... you used to be.
When you woke up the Saturday after Key left, your first instinct was to pick up your phone and text him, ask him what he wanted to do today.
You actually did type it out, but before you pressed ‘Send,’ you realized...
You wouldn’t like his answer.
And only then did you admit to yourself he had left. For good.
You would be able to see him from time to time, but he was never going to live here again.
He was gone, and you were still here.
And... honestly, you just couldn’t handle that. You couldn’t deal with it.
What was life without Key, your very best friend? Who would you spend all of your time with? Who would you tell everything to? Who would support you and comfort you and tell you to suck it up and give you the tough love you needed?
Suddenly (though probably not so suddenly), you felt a tear slide down your cheek. You felt your throat closing up and your stomach forming a huge, bottomless hole.
And all of your feelings crashed down on you at once.
Why had you been so stupid? Why had you pushed everything to the side instead of just dealing with it? Instead of just making a decision?
You had been worried about leaving your family, but you knew your family would always be here. They would always be right here whenever you came back.
But Key wouldn’t.
Who knows where he would end up? He would probably conquer the world, and one thing you knew for sure -- you wanted to be with him.
You got out of bed and ready as quickly as possible, telling your mom you were going to visit Key -- and not telling her you were probably never coming back.
I mean, you would come back to pack up your things and stuff. But you know what I mean.
You drove for about an hour until you realized you had no idea where you were going. So you told Siri to call him, your heart thumping with each ring that came through your car speakers.
“Hey,” Key answered after the fourth ring. “What’s up?”
“Hi, so, um, where do you live?”
“...What do you mean?” he chuckled.
“Where are you? Right now?”
“I’m in my dorm room,” he told you, sounding more than a little confused. “What’s going on?”
“Text me your address.”
“...Okay. Y/N, what’s going on?”
“Just text me your address. Thanks!” You quickly hung up before he could ask again, though you weren’t sure why you hadn’t just told him you were coming to see him...
A few moments later, a message came through on your phone. You carefully clicked on the address Key had sent, bringing it up in your Maps app and setting your destination.
About an hour later, you found yourself parking in front of Key’s dorm, your heart now beating wildly.
He was already waiting outside for you, and the second you saw him, you felt that lump in your throat forming again. You felt hot tears pressing against the backs of your eyes as you ran to him, immediately sliding your arms around his middle and pressing your face into his neck.
“Hey, what’s wrong? What are you doing here?” Key asked, that all too familiar confused laugh hidden in his voice.
“I’m sorry,” you murmured, trying your absolute best to stop those tears from falling. “I shouldn’t have pretended like you were coming back. I shouldn’t have acted like everything was okay. I’m not okay. I don’t want you to leave. I mean, I know you already left, and I’m sorry I didn’t realize earlier that I didn’t want you to leave.”
Key let out a somewhat amused sigh, bringing his arms around you and patting your back comfortingly. “It took you a whole week to realize that?”
“I want to be here,” you continued. “I want to be with you. I don’t think I can live without you. I can’t be myself without you.”
You felt Key freeze. You almost pulled away to look at him, but he spoke before you had the chance to.
“You... what? You want to be with me?” he asked softly.
You nodded, clutching the back of his shirt for dear life.
“Like... be with me?”
Why was he asking you again? You’d just said ‘yes’!
So you nodded again.
And, this time, Key leaned back. He let his arms fall from around your shoulders. He brought his hands up to cradle your cheeks.
And then he kissed you.
Your eyes flew open immediately, your breath catching in your throat because you were shocked. More than shocked.
What -- what was going on?
Why was Key kissing you?
You were much too stunned to say or do anything, but thankfully, Key wasn’t. He pulled away after a few seconds, pressing his forehead against yours and letting his breath fan over your lips.
“I was hoping you would realize it,” he whispered. “Obviously, I was hoping you would realize before I left, but a week isn’t bad.”
“...Realize what?” you croaked, your voice just barely audible.
“That we’re more than just friends. I’ve known for a long time, but I wanted to wait for you. And now you’re here.”
Oh -- oh, god. Were you here?
Were you?!
Your mind was absolutely racing -- along with your heart -- but when you opened your mouth to tell Key you had no idea what was going on...
You couldn’t speak.
You couldn’t say anything.
And then all of a sudden you were kissing him again.
You were kissing him back.
Because you had meant every word you’d said just a minute ago.
You wanted to be here with him. You didn’t know how you could live without him by your side. You didn’t know if you could be yourself without him by your side.
You had always known deep down Key would be by your side for the rest of your life, but had you thought it would be as just your friend?
Had you really expected him to find someone else to fall in love with and get married to?
Had you really expected you to find someone else to fall in love with? Get married to?
...When you really thought about it, no. You hadn’t even let those thoughts enter your mind.
But, to be honest, you weren’t going to let any thoughts of love enter your mind right now.
Right now, all you would focus on was getting registered for college. Getting a dorm, getting a roommate, signing up for classes.
And being with Key.
That’s all you needed, to be with him. Right now... and always.
You heaved as you dragged your luggage into the hotel room. Kibum walked in after you, chuckling and shutting the door. “You know, I could have helped you carry your luggage in.”
“Yes, you’ve already told me that, but I am fully capable of carrying it.”
“Alright. Suit yourself. Let’s get settled in. Tomorrow we’re going to Saint Mark’s Basilica.” He grabbed his suitcases and dragged them to the other half of the room, where you assumed he would stay while you stayed in the half you were already standing in.
Instead of unpacking, you opted for looking around the place. It was large and elegant. The bed that would be yours was giant and looked like it was as comfortable as a cloud. The colour scheme of the room was baby blue and white with accents of gold. The wardrobe and dresser were made of mahogany and were large enough to stuff ten people inside- not that doing so was on the to-do list.
You walked out to the balcony through the floor-to-ceiling glass paned doors and was in awe over the view. The architecture you could see was gorgeous and the colours of the sunset made everything look like a paradise.
You wanted to continue looking at it, but peeled yourself away to look at the bathroom. You wanted to take a shower, anyways. Not being able to shower for the whole flight had made you feel like a literal grease ball.
Even the bathroom was gorgeous and roomy. There was a clawfoot tub, standup shower, and protruding shell sink with a marble countertop. Everything contrasted beautifully with the cherrywood floors throughout the whole hotel room. A pure white, plush rug was covering majority of the floor and it was so unbelievably soft. Even the toilet (which had its own separate little room) looked like it belonged to royalty. You wondered what it would be like to sleep on the rug, but pushed the thought out of your mind because it was far too gross.
You exited the bathroom and grabbed some clothes out of your suitcase, along with toiletries. “I’m going to take a bath,” you announced and hurriedly walked back to the bathroom, far too excited for a bath.
“As in a bubble bath?,” he called back.
“Yes! This bathroom is far too luxurious to not take a bubble bath!”
“Then you better be quick, because I want to see that bathroom.”
“Uuuhhhh... I’ll be as quick as I can bring myself to be!” You slammed the door closed and locked it.
You walked out of the bathroom, now wearing a snuggly set of pajamas, and ran your fingers through your damp hair, happily sighing. “Even the towels are heavenly. I had some lavender scented candles lit. I’m completely relaxed.”
“Oh God, I imagine it’s going to be nearly impossible to get you out of this room now.”
“Shut up.” You looked up to see him unpacking your belongings and rolled your eyes. “You better not touch my ‘delicates’.”
“Don’t worry, I don’t want to touch things that have touched your lady parts.”
“And if it were Scarlett Johansson’s delicates?”
“Hmm... Then I might consider it. Maybe be eager.”
“You little-!” You grabbed a pillow and hit him.
He laughed, far too amused. “Don’t worry, I prefer you over her. Anyways, aren’t you going to blow dry your hair?”
“No, it usually makes me sweat.” You grabbed your bras and panties and set them in their own drawers.
“Then put the dryer on the cold setting.”
“It’s nearly impossible to get anything dry with cold air. I’m not sitting around for thirty minutes trying to dry my hair when it could air dry in that amount of time.”
“Okay, fine. Have it your way. I’m going to get some food from Dal Moro’s Fresh Pasta To Go and stop somewhere to get some champagne.”
“Alright. Make sure to get me something. Nothing as oily as your face looks, though.”
“Why do you have to roast me?”
You giggled. “Because it’s fun and you’re just so cute.”
Kibum poured two glasses of champagne and handed one to you. You gladly took it and asked, “What should we toast to?”
“Mm... To each other’s company and a blossoming relationship?”
You smiled and blushed. “Cheers,” you said and you clanked your glasses together.

You finish walking up and back across the room, returning to the fashion designer awaiting you. He eyes you up and down, before gesturing you closer to him. With a gentle touch, he takes you by the waist and turns you to face the floor length mirror in front of him, and he adjusts your outfit just slightly, with quiet hums in thought as he inspects you.
“Again please, honey.” He asks you, watching intently as you catwalk once more.
You have been at the studio all day, modelling outfits for the upcoming showcase. The designer, Kim Kibum, had asked for you specifically, having seen the work you had done for other designers, he was intrigued by you, and your striking looks that stood you out from all of the other models in the city.
As you reach him again, you turn to look at yourself in the mirror before he had even asked you to. The clothes that he has you in are bright, bold, every piece of his collection makes a statement. You had wanted to work for him too, so jumped at the opportunity when your agent alerted you to the request.
“Such a pretty girl, huh? Look at you.” He admires, grazing his fingers up the side of your neck.
As the day has gone on, Kibum has been more touchy with you, continually praising you, and honestly driving you crazy. He is so handsome, with his short black hair, slicked back, exposing his forehead, he is dressed immaculately, though of course he is, fashion is his life.
He takes his hands to your shoulders, and traces your curves, moving down your arms, to find purchase at your hips.
“I’ll be driving you home, sweet girl. That’s okay, isn’t it? I think I am finished here for the day.” Kibum says, speaking his thoughts aloud.
“Oh, yes thank you.” You reply meekly, holding your breath as he momentarily digs his nails into you before letting go.
Kibum leaves the room so that you can change back into your own clothes, just casual wear, high waisted leggings and an oversized sweater. You are hanging Kibum’s clothes up as he re-enters the room, and he takes the last item of clothing from you to help you out.
“Let’s go, doll.” He offers, holding his arm out for you to take.
Kibum leads you from the studio to the parking lot, opening the door for you to enter his car as you reach it. The plush leather seats are comfortable, and you lean back after putting on your seatbelt, just as Kibum starts the car.
You give him your address, which he inputs into the gps, and once the route has been mapped, he begins the short journey to your apartment. You sit in silence for a while, unsure of how to converse with him, you have chatted on and off all day and you are not sure what else there is to say.
“You are fascinating, sweetheart. There is just something about you...” He commentates, glancing over at you as he pulls up at a red light.
You gaze back at him, admiring his perfect features, sharp jawline and cheekbones, that beautiful scar through his brow.
“What do you mean?” You ask.
“I am not sure. I am just... mesmerised. I wonder how you live your life, outside of modelling.” He replies, just as he turns onto your street.
Kibum stops the car out the front of your apartment complex, and turns to face you in his seat. He continues to give you the same piercing gaze that he has all day, scrutinising, but as he said, fascinated.
“Do you want to see?” You ask him.
Kibum tilts his head to the side, trying to understand your question, which was unclear.
“I’m inviting you in, Kibum. If you would like to see how I live my life.” You continue.
It takes Kibum a second to process your offer, clearly not accustomed to someone being as forward as you are, though you are confident in your approach, knowing that you are irresistible to anyone that you want.
“I’d love to, honey.” He responds, opening the door to exit the car.
This time you lead, directing him to the elevator to take you up to your apartment. Modelling pays well, and where you live is proof of that. Beautiful furnishings, the place is spotless, though of course it is, you hire someone to do that, with your busy schedule you just want to relax when you are home.
“Would you like a tour?” You ask, watching as Kibum looks around the room.
“Lead the way.” He responds, gesturing for you to go ahead.
You do so, walking forward and through the different rooms in your house. Kibum regularly stops to admire the different artworks that to have on display, being a collector is a point of pride for yourself, having started collecting not long after your first big pay packet, your house is decorated wonderfully.
“This one was commissioned personally.” You confess, pointing to the large piece that is a feature in your living room, an abstract painting of you.
“Almost as beautiful as the real thing.” Kibum notes, looking back between you and the painting on the wall.
You blush, exaggerating just a little bit, accentuating your cute side before turning to continue the tour.
As you walk down the hallway, you absentmindedly point to your bedroom, not expecting the door to be as open as it was, which you don’t notice until you realise that Kibum is no longer right beside you.
You turn back to see him standing in your doorway, his brows raised as you walk back to him. He glances into your room again, and you see exactly what he is looking at.
A mirror hangs above your bed, connected to the ceiling, the perfect view from your mattress to see yourself above.
“Oh, you love yourself, don’t you kitten?” He purrs, reaching over to caress your cheek.
You can see how much your confidence turns him on, as he bites his lip, waiting for your response.
“Mhmm, I can get a real good view of myself...” You begin, “Do you want to see?”
This time Kibum is not confused by your question, remembering the way that you framed your offer to him earlier. Instead, he steps closer to you, taking his hand to your waist to bring you in to kiss him.
“I would love to, doll.” He replies.
You lean into him, as he steps you back into your room. You continue in confidence, you are not shy of how much you want him, and you know that he wants you too. You make it to your bed in record time, only stopping to take Kibum’s shirt off while he removes yours.
“God, I knew I should have stayed to watch you change, sweet girl. Fuck, you are immaculate.” He praises, caressing your back as he unclasps your bra.
You trace down his chest with kisses, dropping to your knees in front of him to unbutton his jeans. As you pull the denim down his legs, you lay kisses down his thighs, lightly nipping at the skin, feeling the way that Kibum’s knees buckle at the sensation.
Kibum steps out of his jeans, and grabs a fistful of your hair, pulling you up to standing. He kisses you with an intense desire, as he reaches for the waistband of your leggings, desperately tearing them down to free you of them, too. The tight material pulls your panties down with it, leaving you completely naked.
You watch as Kibum’s cock twitches in the confines of his briefs, as you reach to grab him through the thin material. He moans as you stroke him, though you stop after a second to remove his underwear too.
“Oh shit, honey...” Kibum moans, as you take his cock into your hands again.
He pushes you back, landing you on the mattress, and guides you up further so you are directly under that beautiful mirror of yours. You watch your reflection as Kibum kisses down your neck, chest, stomach, and as he licks a straight line from your navel, right to your clit.
You whine as he works you with his tongue, as he takes two fingers to your core to warm you up as his mouth focuses on your clit. Your legs shake under him though he holds you still, while you watch yourself in the mirror above you, writhing and convulsing to his touch.
“That’s enough,” Kibum says, lifting his head to stare at you, “I wanna watch now.”
Kibum kisses up your body until he is hovering over you, as he kisses your lips, you can taste yourself on him. He takes you by the waist and rolls you over on top of him, and he repositions himself under the mirror before grabbing your thighs and pulling you up so that your knees are either side of his head.
You lean back so that he can watch himself, as he resumes his earlier work, taking his tongue to your core again, lapping at your arousal before focusing on your clit. You tilt your head to watch yourself above, feeling yourself, touching your breasts and putting on a show for Kibum underneath you.
This drives Kibum wild, as he moans into you, suckling on your clit to drive you over the edge, your cries are silent as Kibum grips tight to your thighs while he helps you ride out your high, holy shit, he is so fucking good with his tongue.
“Want you too, Bammie~” You whine, moving yourself back away from him, despite his protests, you move down to straddle his hips, grinding down onto his cock, watching him as he moans in desperation.
You lift your hips up and he helps line his cock up with your entrance, and you both moan in sync as you lower yourself down. As you raise yourself up again, Kibum lifts his hips to meet yours as you drop down. He thrusts in from under you, admiring himself in the reflection as he watches you bounce on his perfect cock.
“But... now I wanna watch.” You continue, leaning forward to kiss him before flipping over onto your back and pulling Kibum on top of you.
Kibum has more control this way, thrusting into you harder than you had been able to ride him. He kisses your neck while you watch yourself in the reflection, a hot fucking mess under this gorgeous man. You tear your nails down his back, watching red lines appear in their wake. You grab his ass, admiring how good he looks, how good you look.
“Feels good right, kitten?” He asks you.
You nod at him as he caresses your cheek, running his thumb across your bottom lip, you stick your tongue out and wrap it around his finger, moaning as he fucks you harder, and the vibrations tear right through him, edging him closer as you feel your stomach tighten.
“You’re gonna be a good doll and take all of me, aren’t you?” He asks, removing his thumb from your mouth and taking it to tease your abused clit once more.
You are not sure whether you can take it, as each circle rubbed on you almost renders you unconscious, physically exhausted from the lack of food and water and the intense orgasm you had received when Kibum went down on you. You know that you are close, as with each inhale, it is harder to breathe, see, feel, do anything other than focus on his cock inside of you.
“Come on, kitten... cum for me... please.” He coaxes you, giving you no choice but to obey.
This orgasm is almost painful, but so good, as you clench around his perfect cock, stuttering his own movements as he lets go too, releasing inside you, god, you are such a mess. He fucks you until he cannot take anymore, when he pulls out, and rolls onto his back beside you.
You lay in silence as you both catch your breath, staring straight up at the mirror on your ceiling, watching the way that your chest rises and falls with each heavy breath. You watch Kibum as he does the same, continuing to stare at you, still clearly mesmerised.
“Thanks for the house tour, kitten.” He says, still watching your every breath, “I’ll have to offer to drive you home after your runway, too.”
Summary: drabble + fluff + friends to maybe lovers kinda
Kibum lies draped across the couch, one arm half-over his face and the other, flicking through channels. He has been sitting like that for the greater part of the past week and honestly, you aren’t sure which will come first – the end of all time, or his ass leaving the cozy indent he’s made.
“Y/N,” he whines, waving your remote. “Your television is broken.”
Glancing up from your kitchen table, you squint over your glasses. “Kibum,” you state, in a no-nonsense voice. “That’s just the Netflix page, asking if you’re dead. All you have to do is click – and tell it that, yes, you are still watching.”
“Oh.” The noise is tiny, and over the top of the couch, you see his dark hair push halfway up. Then, he abruptly flops down. “Ugh, never mind. It’s not worth the effort.”
“Sweet lord,” you groan, standing up from your chair to cross the room. Snapping the second remote from your coffee table, you click a button and turn angrily to Kibum. “Are you happy, now?”
He beams, the most beatific gesture in the world and you forget momentarily to be mad at him. Reaching upwards, Kibum encircles your wrist with his hand and tugs – hard. “Ah!” you gasp, falling to the couch alongside him and Kibum’s grin widens, wrapping both legs around you.
“Caught you,” he laughs, grabbing the other remote from your grip. “Aha! Now, I’m the Netflix warrior! I rule all the lands, from Riverdale to Hasan Minhaj and – hey!”
You snatch both the remotes back. “Too slow, Netflix warrior! Bow before me, the Empress – Queen-of-the-Couch!”
“Y/N, that doesn’t even make sense,” Kibum complains. “You can be Empress, or you can be Queen. You can’t be bo –”
“Bow before me!”
Obediently, Kibum tumbles from the sofa. “Oh, great Queen, please – you know what, it isn’t worth it,” he declares. With that, he turns around to lean his back to the couch.
Open-mouthed, you prop yourself up on one elbow. “Kibum!”
“Yes?”
“Wait, give me compliments!”
With a noise that could be a snort, or a laugh, Kibum twists. “You’re worse than me,” he bemoans, making a face. “Ugh, this is why we should never date.”
With that, he returns to the flickering light of the TV, leaving you staring at the back of his head. Tufts of dark brown hair stick out in every direction, smelling of papaya and making it hard to concentrate on the moment at hand. You know the stuff is papaya because Kibum leaves his shampoo at your place every time he sleeps over. It makes your pillow smell – well, like him.
A strange, fluttery feeling enters your stomach at the memory.
Reaching out, you poke the back of his head.
Kibum turns around, arching a brow. “What?”
“Why shouldn’t we date?” you request, quieter than normal. Lowering the side of your face to the seat cushion, you stare at him from a half-squished vantage point.
He stares at you for a moment, somewhat taken aback. “Why – what,” he blinks, fumbling for words. While you stare, Kibum grabs both remotes from your hands. “What do you mean, why shouldn’t we date?”
It is strange to see him like this – Kibum: the confident, the unflappable – flummoxed.
“I mean,” you clarify, clearing your throat. For a moment, you ignore the imbalance of remote power. “Am I so undateable? Hm? Kibum? Bummie?”
His expression softens at the use of his nickname. “Nah,” he exhales, turning serious. The quirk of his brow and the shape of his lips are rather endearing – more than you noticed, any time prior. It is strange, how you’re noticing now. “You’re not… undateable, Y/N.”
“So,” you exhale, licking your lips. Your words continue to grow softer, for some reason. Perhaps, because he keeps leaning into you further. “I am dateable, then.”
Kibum swallows. There exists a strange sort of yearning to his gaze and you notice his body has gone rigid from... something. Quickly, so fast it could be an accident, he glances down at your lips.
“Yeah,” he murmurs, glancing back up. “I guess so.”
A long moment passes between you. Then – “Great,” you grin, snatching both remotes from his hands. “I’ll remember that, the next time someone asks.”
