#kingdom hearts #riku #temperance #upright: balance; patience; purpose #reversed: imbalance; antagonism; recklessness #hello I am back with another one #I am doing these in no particular order #this one is STRONGLY inspired by the visuals in the kh3 opening video #also kh2 riku what are you wearing you beautiful disaster #I discussed a bunch of these ideas with friends and this was one several of us agreed on #mister road to dawn halfway path between light and darkness is absolutely our king of moderation and balance here #kh tarot #teleport warning draws

o. the fool

#kingdom hearts #sora #the fool #upright: beginnings; innocence; free-spirited #reversed: recklessness; risk-taking; naivety #well I think this is a pretty obvious choice all things considered #I know it would be even more like the traditional depictions of this card to show Sora with Pluto #perhaps in traverse town #but I’m intentionally avoiding including the Disney cast so no Pluto here #I liked the idea of the door at the end of the dive to the heart as the beginning of the journey #although evidently I gave up on actually including a heart station #couldn’t get it to look right for image composition so I just noped out #kh tarot #teleport warning draws

#kingdom hearts #roxas #judgement #upright: awakening; absolution; rebirth #reversed: self-doubt; self-loathing; ignoring the call #I did a couple versions of this in my thumbnails but I knew it had to be one of the Roxas fights #and given the card’s meanings with sense of self and awakening I thought the Sora and Roxas fight from final mix was the way to go #also it just made a cooler composition than my other choices #also I am now HALFWAY DONE #I uh regret to inform you that about a quarter of the remaining cards are the ones designed for psychic damage #so I hope you’re all looking forward to that #I can also feel my art style regressing to baseline so I need to make some intentional choices to keep things feeling consistent #kh tarot #teleport warning draws

#kingdom hearts #xion #roxas #the hanged man #upright: surrender; sacrifice; perspective #reversed: indecision; stalling; stagnation #I hope I get a couple people right in the feels with this one #I thought xion was perfect for the hanged man and ideas of enlightened surrender and changed perspective #also it was fun to figure out how to get the essential art composition of the card (subject must be upside down) with what I wanted to draw #pretty happy with the end result #how many times did I listen to vector to the heavens while working on this?#several #kh tarot #teleport warning draws
