angron and perturabo doing some serious child abuse always
this is absolutely not true, I can recall multiple instances of him cringing
my dear son you cringe all the time
Soooo... Listening to the short story "After Desh'ea" while on a walk wasn't the brightest idea I've had.
More than a handful of people must've seen a random Indian lady (aka me!) powerwalking while trying very hard not to cry!
Man... If the Emperor has no haters left, consider me dead! Actually... You know what?! I'd still hate on the dumbass from beyond the grave!!
Also, Khârn.... My beautiful baby boy!!! You're right up there with Tarik Torgaddon in my books! He's got such wisdom in him despite being the literal punching bag for his gene father's rage! He deserved so much better! Their entire legion did!!!
And I can't believe he did a 'Scheherazade' on his Primarch, baiting him with a good story, and got him to calm down enough to take command over his legion! What a lad!!
You know what this means! I know I just barely got done with the last chapter of the Angron fic last week. But, y'all are getting the next chapter of "What Calms the Red" this week! You can thank Khârn for it! And now, I simply MUST write him in it!
oh yeah i keep writing warhammer 40k character studies / relationship studies / missing scenes and keep not really telling anyone. masterpost time. these are all fairly short and for the most part canon-compliant.
a shortage in the blood supply: cyrene & khârn, 40k setting.
with my own blood in my mouth: khârn & argel tal, post-dropsite massacre.
something that will blind me: xarl & talos with the rest of first claw, dropsite massacre.
deep in my arteries: khârn & lorgar, early shadow crusade.
this insubstantial pageant: ahriman & khayon, post-ahriman: unchanged.
when the wolf comes home: abaddon & …loken?, post-heresy and pre-black legion
please read my fanfiction if you want 👍 thank you
I fw Khârn so much, I would love headcanons(x reader romantic ofc), The reader is a serf who's incredibly loyal for him, always defend him and is never afraid from him, in fact they always look at him in admiration, and are willing to fight everyone for him even if they are weak.
To everybody you were Khârn's shadow, the small little thing that had started to follow him out of the blue and that had started to serve him directly. In other words, you had declared yourself his personal serf, or better, his squire, like you used to say several times.
At first he was quite annoyed by this behavior. The war hounds already had enough serfs to take care of them—not too many, but just enough to have their basic needs accommodated—but personal serfs? Unheard of.
He did not need, and certainly he didn't need, something like you that looked at him in that way. He never understood what that strange glare meant, those big eyes looking at him and only at him like that, that small smile that was always plastered on your face, and that hideous voice that never complained and always found a way to serve him even when he had never ordered you to. His annoyance, at some point, shifted.
He became used to you and your curious way of praising him. It wasn't the praise of those who wished to be closer to the captain of the eighth company, but one of pure adoration.
"Who wouldn't find you incredible, my lord?!" You once responded to his question, "You are far beyond a great warrior and a bright mind! There's little I think you could do wrong, and I'm sure that your name will be forever remembered by the Imperium!"
When the legion had reached their genesire, you had followed him till you could go. He forbade you to follow him in this confrontation.
"You'll be in my way."
He told himself that, but the image of you dead under his father's hands burned like hot iron. He did not know he would come back, but you were sure of it.
"You'll come back, because you're Khârn."
And after his success, he rejoiced for his comeback like sweet and fresh water.
As his equerry, he needed to be close to Amngron, and you were, as usual, closer to him than always. You did not know if that expression on Lord Angron was a dangerous warning, but Khârn had just laughed it off, patting your back.
"He found you… adorable, in a certain way."
He accepted the nails, a proof of his loyalty to his father, and a small worry came to his mind: he could have hurt you or worse. He talked to you, trying to convince you to leave and find a new occupation, but you were stubborn as always.
"I know you won't kill me, and I'm not leaving you! I'm your squire till I die, CLEAR?!"
Somehow, your words stayed with him even in the fog of the pain and the agony.
He still remembered the care and the gentleness you showed him taking care of his wounds and the freshly installed nails. The pain was beyond what he could muster, but your voice and your caring seemed to placate it when it was at its worst. You weren't afraid to touch them, and he knew he could trust you with them. He could let you open up his chest and take his heart…
Even his friends from the other legions, his cousins, had noticed your curious bond and noticed the differences when you were around him and when your absence seemed to irritate the captain.
Then the Heresy came…
"You don't have to stay." He spoke, almost like giving you a command.
You kept on cleaning his armor, almost ignoring him.
"I said you don't have to stay!"
"I want to stay," you blatter out, finding your hands empty of your rag when he had taken it away from your grasp.
"I'll be direct: I want you to LEAVE. Find a safe place; do not search for us, just—"
"I'M NOT LEAVING!"
His eyes, now glossy, looked at his fiery one. You stood tall against that mountain, his nostrils enlarged by his fury, and you never backed down, not for one second.
"I'll be at your side, whether you like it or not! I don't want to leave you!… I…"
Emotions such as love or sadness were looked down on in the World Eaters ranks. Those were not necessary; only rage and blood were enough; only fear could give them strength.
Your lips trembled; you averted his gaze not for embarrassment or fear, but because you didn't want him to see you cry like that. Then his large hands hold your face, cradling it toward him, with a kind of kindness that was foreign even for him. His temple touched yours in a symbolic gesture; you could feel his skin squinched and hot against yours.
"Me too, my brave one… me too…"
You would have followed him till the end, but neither of you knew that Erebus had other plans for Khârn.
And you were an obstacle.

Here is my part of the art-trade with @reclusiarch-orm
Khârn and Abaddon exchanging the manliest, bro hand-shake to ever exist! (Yes, the one from the predator movie) Their accumulated masculine power created a supernova that is going to obliterate the entire galaxy and all the loyalists in 🐼👍🏻
Here is her contribution
XVI: Сommander's will
"'The only question that remains is,' said Gahlan, 'who shall be the first?' Mago shared hurried glances with the nearest commanders he could trust. Their hands closed around their weapons. Orontes looked at Mago in alarm. If they wanted to put a stop to this, they would have to act now. 'I will.' Mago froze. He turned in the direction of the voice. Khârn stepped forward to stand before Gahlan Surlak. The Eighth captain removed his helm and stared at the Apothecary with eyes of cold blue. 'I will, brother. Give me the Nails.'"
