"What's your style?"
Kholes clearance section
I've been in a little bit of a minimalist K Hole for the last couple days that started with a piece called The Immeasurable Space of Tones. The piece described in this article is called Inuksuit and they're both by the same guy - his name is John Luther Adams. It's really bizarre to listen to a recording of a piece that takes place outside (which, full disclosure, I'm literally in the middle of doing while I'm writing this), but after reading this blog post, my brain is in overdrive wondering what is intentional sound notated by the composer and what is incidental.
Much of this stuff in on YouTube and the OP links to it in his blog post. I've been listening to all of this JLA on spotify. The first piece is on an album called The Light That Fills the World and I strongly recommend you sit around in the dark and listen to it 40 times in a row.
Russian pop music, internet kholes, and YOU.
I have inexplicably been watching Russian language pop videos on youtube for the last 20 minutes. As a whole, what is up with the Shatner style over-acting on these videos? But you know, I'm finding some I can groove along with as well as learn pronunciation! And translation if I look up the lyrics in English.
HOW did I get here?
Here is a brief word map (with accompanying jpgs) of what I believe happened and an insight about the anatomy of an internet Khole in general:
