a kibbe typist recommendation: julia deshkova (pictured above) on instagram - @juliadeshkova - runs a fabulous and vastly informative page that you can frequent pretty much every other day to learn the world from her. she types mostly female celebs and clients but some famous men as well, sometimes entire movie/series casts, and there’s a dash of color analysis as well because it goes hand in hand with kibbe. her page really trains your eye and answers a lot of kibbe’s riddles.
if you learn through pictures like i do, julia illustrates the types very lucidly with great edits, contrasts the types tirelessly (we all need to study that, it’s important), gives endless picture examples, and there’s a lot of uplifting body image pep talk and julia being a candid, approachable personality because she’s the queen of everything. bonus, there’s no ai, unlike on many other stylist pages. you leave her account feeling better about yourself and assured in your self-typing, and more educated about kibbe overall.
she also uses the original system with the types that david kibbe later so nonsensically discarded. it’s all a great mix to browse and she makes stories worthwile watching. her typing services are hardly affordable, but her instagram pretty much offers all you need for free anyway. and if you are affluent, do support her, we need such perceptible typists to stick around. i think intermediate learners could benefit a lot from her. even a beginner could easily go on a binge around her page and find cool stuff to learn about to be honest.
julia herself is a great example of a complete metamorphosis. after years of disliking her appearance and wardrobe she found out she’s a soft dramatic and dresses her type very gorgeously now (if a typist pulls off their own analysis AND perfectly restyles themselves they are god tier level, because self-awareness and following through is hard). imo she’s still underestimated in the kibbe community and deserves getting traction. not only is her page super interactive and on point, i also love her aesthetic and strong presentation, she really found her SD style image🌹
