oh he is definitely FN! despite grey's anatomy trying their best to make him a pure classic type 🤣 doctor's clothing is very C and kills his vibe, but we can still see how soft yang the shoulders are underneath, how big chris' hands are, how blunt the frame.
the most obvious kibbe width so far, not just in the shoulders but the ribcage as well. plus some elongated dramatic sharpness in his features, so not pure natural. hence long/er hair looks so good on FN men. 100 times better than the grey's anatomy chop!
same for the new superman david corenswet. flamboyant natural men truly are hollywood's favorite male kibbe ID, but ironically, they are rarely styled right. everybody wants guys to be FNs but once they are, they should be winter type classics instead? 💀
the usual 'grass is greener' effect that kibbe often talks about. flowing hair, ribbed fabrics, that's so good on FNs, not the classic tux they burst out of! Ns shouldn't be afraid of an undone style, bc what's messy on other types is a clean look on them! ❤️
btw: 5'11 is a common FN height (look at namjoon), remember my cutoff for yin types is 5'10. both still have insane vertical. you don't have to be 6'2 to be finally considered tall, it's the D undercurrent that's so narrow, it'll make any yang subtypes look taller. i'd easily guess chris is 6'3 and namjoon 6'0+.
^again, look how awkward flamboyant natural men are in symmetrical C outlines and gloomy colors (chris is a spring, namjoon an autumn: i am desperate to see more warm tones on them!). bring out some cozy browns and greens for the naturals already!

damn chris carmack's kenergy is insane! (fur coats are also recommended for FN of course. and finally some popping spring colors on display!)

hint/typing teaser: if an actor or actress looks better when bald? they have sharp yang, i.e. they are dramatic/gamine or have a yang subtype... 😉 because:
bald = plain bone structure.
it elongates the vertical of the face by exposing more skin.
the outline is sleek. by contrast, natural & romantic (soft yang, soft yin) have plush, fuzzy outlines, not flat ones.
it's an all or nothing style. D is on the extreme end of kibbe's scale. no half-assing things possible there.
just like nicholas hoult committing to the bit and succeeding.
and yep, i've typed yura alongside some other anora cast members here. i haven't seen it but from pics i believe the movie dresses him as a natural - yet the red carpet says he's a dramatic classic:
common trope, yin subtype actress, yang subtype actor: mikey is a soft classic. see how they are both medium height and yura does not have extreme shoulder width compared to the other men? hack: if you want to spot the classics, put them next to naturals.
tbh knowing the film markets him as SN, yura is one of the many actors who fell victim to the usual hollywood motto that i talked about in my david corenswet typing, which goes:
"so, all men should be naturals, because only that is masculine! but the natural men should actually be... classics! makes sense! oops, why are the broad guys so squeezed into their narrow classic suits and why do the narrow guys drown in those wide natural clothes? and it's unflattering? and why does everyone hate their body and want to be someone else? guess we'll never know!"
just like the huge and bulky superman FN archetype always squeezes into a pure C outfit to be clarkishly unrecognizable! 😭
the sharp outlines hide his natural bone structure. it looks nerdily ill-matched because of it. (a C type dressed as N can also camouflage themselves that way - knowing kibbe and explaining acting transformations is great fun 😊)
even in the comic the sleeves are visibly scrunched lmao!^
so, my theory is that once an actor does embody the beauty standard, stylists try to "tame" them with C menswear. or think classic is the only thing that still fits buff N men. and vice versa for DC types like yura. angular classic men are puffed and buffed up to match the FN body standard. neither works.
natural fabrics, thick and sturdy, beards, fuzzy hair, all are heavy on the face and not flattering or recognizable at all for a DC:
clean, elegant lines, buzzing off the fluff, symmetry, complete minimalism, hard-edged lines, stronger contrast: much better.
yura's physicality is pretty easy to type. symmetrical, balanced but chiseled, medium to tall height (5'10), with sharpness, defined angular facial bones. which are in harmony with the shaved head, whereas baldness on more yin types is trickier to pull off.
bonus: unlike nicholas hoult actually, he is more on the dramatic end like bill skarsgard (they are both above 6'2, that says it all - no classics are found above 6'0). very strong on the vertical.

exactly! carlos sainz is a pure natural at 5'10, and rebecca donaldson is a pure dramatic type at 5'9. very yang couple. but you can see how she is narrow-dominant (clearly defined edges) and he is width-dominant (blunt, rounder edges). crazy how different bone structure can be between IDs. because they are pure and not subtypes, we see the extremes: she is angular, he is bevelled.
another natural type at 5'10 who's a super pretty f1 driver is oscar piastri from mclaren (his teammate lando norris is a soft gamine btw). oscar's girlfriend lily is his theatrical romantic match. they are both yin actually, oscar is a soft natural subtype. this couple is more "kibbe-similar": rounded body outlines with moderate vertical and rounded facial contours, slight hourglass. SN and TR are closer than we think, though SN looks taller and more athletic.
^ i thought she could have been SG, but she does romantic styles so well compared to line breaks, and her face is 100% yin anyway.

FN (and to some degree, SD) as the male beauty standard of our time is the type most frequently cast & portrayed among men in fiction, however the imbalance of this list also stems from who is requested to me, keep that in mind. imo the most common type worldwide is soft natural. DC, SG and FG, too.
e.g south east asia has lower average heights, so my 5′11 yang cutoff can be lowered by one foot there, to 5′10. also mind that some celebs tweak their heights.
there are several retypes here, we all know how difficult this system is. my typing skills changed a lot over time. whatever’s on this list is the recent typing for someone.
i mostly try not to clog the list with typings we’ve seen a gazillion times and collectively agree on, like jason momoa FN, bruno mars SG, etc.
obviously i don’t subscribe to the deeds and politics of some highly unsavory individuals on this list, you know who they are; this is just for typing purposes, i’m not promoting them
i also don’t support kibbe taking vibe/aura/personality into account when typing, body type is 100% unrelated to character. he types by how someone comes across, i type by body geometry alone.
i created the height limits on the fly based on the patterns i saw since david doesn’t provide a cutoff for men. still figuring out the classic ones, bear with me.
for those curious, my own type is pure dramatic! not verified by david kibbe himself, but i’m sure i’m big three/yang-dominant aka FN, D or SD (since my height is 5′9)

Hi caro🌠 , I can't decide if ban is a FN or a SD , it's especially hard when it's a cartoon . His love interest Elaine is a soft gamine I presume . Have a lovely weekend 🌱🌹
ban could actually be a pure dramatic body type. his styling looks FG to fit the theme of seven deadly sins, but he's all vertical, straight lines, contrast, pointy edges. between FN and SD i would go for FN, he lacks yin softness and would have kibbe width in the anime. still, when i draw on top of his design, i see no bluntness. head to toe black is your telltale dramatic alarm bell. (also proves our "dramatics are matched with gamines" couple theory again)
as soon as a character walks in with the all black/all angles/all vertical head to toe with a white color contrast (hair in gojo's case), i know they're a dramatic type. my theory: everyone is into gojo because he's SO archetypally designed that it's universally accessible. plus, it's rare that a dramatic is not the villain. interesting subversion.
jojo's bizarre adventure, that is a true soft dramatic + flamboyant natural design. drapes and quiffs and tiny waists and broad chests and tank tops and ruffled hair and luxury color palettes. all paired with extreme vertical and extended lines. it's not a head to toe rectangle box like the pure dramatic gojo formula.
PS: ban's difficult case reminds me of grimmjow from bleach (6'1) - tough to gauge where between the big three (FN/SD/D) he falls, his stature is so inconsistent between manga-anime and arcs, plus he is dressed in a different ID than his yang body is (cropped lines are not exactly big 3, so they show off his physique). plus his shapeshifting gives him more blunt FN lines/the XXL-FN "mane".
bleach is dramatic-leaning generally (i love this series!! byakuya is my husband), nnoitra is the best example, as is aizen. since he's contrasted with gamine ulquiorra a lot, grimmjow might be pure dramatic too, despite all else. extreme vertical, sharp shoulders with bnw scheme, asymmetric face detailing. again, spike yang hair, sharp chin. his "wild beast" theme is FN, but his lines say D. his triangular skirt with the dropped waist, very D-type. see how ulquiorra is angular like him but compact? gamine juxtaposition.

I feel like the homme fatal , high fashion look would be amazing for him . He kinda looks like Éric roberts too . Also the shiny fabrics look great on him .( is he a winter ? Bright maybe ? yes, bright winter and soft dramatic! i.e. a dramatic man who needs waist emphasis, softer glamorous fabrics, bigger hair, more androgynous styling; very subtle yin undercurrent. his 6'0 height also confirms that he is yang-dominant.
soft dramatic men remind me of alexandre cabanel's emotional and extreme painting, the fallen angel. (FN also works as a comparison)
or the blowing wind in the birth of venus, which in and of itself is a very SD kind of painting (long verticals + yin outlines).

Again I'm not a fan of the beard( but I had the same thoughts about jensen ackles and you helped clarify that he was indeed a natural !) . you got a good eye for spotting yang men. i agree that bulky natural clothing does not fit or flatter him. chad looks unlike himself; the lines are so old-fashioned & untidy. butchering a perfectly handsome man 😭 not all beach-lookin'-boys are FN, and natural clothing is not a "one style fits all"!
classic is plain, no wow effect. it leaves the face gaunt. it's better than natural, but not fantastic. yes, classic can wash men out even if it's marketed as the go-to formal wear for them. another fallacy. frustrating how he's styled for red carpets, his beauty goes to waste. murray is only 43, i would have guessed he's 50 here.
that only leaves us with: dramatic. and yes: the tall black and white silhouette does it for him. he is too sharp for C, that's why his bones stand out, and too narrow for natural, that's why he swims in it. now it all makes sense. he needs WAY more contrasting outfits. 👍🏻
he doesn't have yin either, he's all bone structure dominant. no soft cheeks, no full lips, no big round eyes. all squarish. that's why his cutting face outline is so crazy chiseled, asymmetric, and triangular.
pin-straight long hair swept off the face is the most seductive on him, chad's signature that made him famous. hair is so important in kibbe since it frames the face directly, clothes mostly don't. he wears his hair as SD-prince charming these days, but the volume and blonde streaks are tacky. pure dramatic does a flatter haircut best, the 'stringy' look works bc strings = narrow/long = sharp yang:
just yummy. his beautiful dramatic cheekbones are greatly emphasized with long hair. for outfits, his freakier friday red carpet "chains on tux" look? A+. dramatics LIVE to dress outside the box and in long verticals. his face card shows, he's happy; when we wear our type we feel it, we get our lick back. dramatics always slay the sharp shoulders & dark colors. yes, the beard/highlights and rounded neckline are off, but the rest? great figure.
chad NEVER dresses his type so all good examples i could find border dramatic classic but i'm already happy, trenchcoats are very sharp yang, him pulling it off without needing waist emphasis proves he's a pure D type. super crisp outlines, brushed-back hair, contrasting collars! i love it! this is how kibbe's extreme yang looks like. you can draw these men (and women, like jamie lee curtis) and their best fashion with nothing but a ruler.

timothy looks so dramatic classic it's crazy. natural fabrics don't work for him at all, he's the suit and tie type, figures by his rectangular build, no kibbe width. jeans could never look sloppy on naturals. classic men are allergic to comfy cozy clothing cuts, it's too much fabric piling up on their dramatic-adjacent skeletons. for anyone typing themselves, if you are soft yang, a hoodie is always a perfect fit in the dressing room rather than concealing your frame.
