Get insane enough about Dan and Phil and you can learn to animate apparently

Context, for the last week (or I guess, week and two days) I’ve been making myself animated reaction gifs to use for various things in response to the phrenaissance

Seeing that I’ve kinda improved in the week I’ve been making stuff, I decided to maybe try my hand at making something a littleee more topical just to see if I could

A little sketchy, a little rough, but I was literally just trying to see if maybe I could actually make something like this lol. I have learned the art of making things look a little bouncy

But yeah! Love that moment of the podcast and knew I wanted to try making something of it :D

I’m pretty happy with it honestly! (Especially as someone who avoided animation for years despite wanting to learn it because it was intimidating)

I’ve finally gone back to finish my piece based on Dan and Phil Crafts that I had started in September 🙏

This one kept giving me trouble back when I started it, so I kind of dropped it for several months. But it’s done now!

“Don’t Cry” from the dnp beats Spooky Week album were part of my inspiration alongside Silos by Starset (the lyrics on the drawing are from that song. Said song also contains the line “You left a hole where a heart had been”, so it felt very fitting lol)

Anyway. I absolutely love drawing these sorts of complicated, melancholic expressions, and dnpc just happened to give me the perfect muse I think. In fact, after the initial sketch, the face was the first thing I rendered in September (and then I did… practically everything else in the last week or so)

But! 11 hours of work later, and I’m quite pleased with how it came out— especially with the large gap between starting it and finishing it.

(And the first time I’ve actually finished one of these celebration doodles NOT egregiously late. I’m learning how to be timely)

I wasn’t exactly here when they hit 3 mil the first time but now that it’s happening again (especially given the phrenaissance occurring at the moment), I thought I’d chip in with a little something because we’re all glad to be here.

Saw a reply to a comment on the Phordle video a few days ago that inspired me to make this little joke comic. I present Dan and Phil playing Five Nights at Phannies, featuring the phanimatronics: Homotron 3000 and Homotron 3001

If someone ever did make a Dan and Phil themed fnaf styled game, I do feel the jumpscares would end up being… very creative lol

I tried posting this like two weeks ago and it kept refusing to post so I’m hoping maybe this time it will lol

Whether he is pocket Phil sized or normal Phil sized in a comically large pot is up for interpretation

Decided to test out the new procreate brushes by drawing Phil (and ended up going like… way overboard I think)

I quite enjoy the new selection, a lot of em are very fun to work with :)
