Scotty has a whole group of kids he co-parents with Uhura

McCoy has his little girl

Sulu has his daughter, plus a handful of orphans he bonded with over the course of their travels

Chekov isn't a "parent" but has a big collection of "little brothers and sisters"

Ran doesn't need to worry about where Gin got all this food. All she should worry about is eating it. "I even got yar favorite~!"

Tiredly, she looked at Gin. There was a bit of confusion with the offer of food. More than just the usual scraps, too. "Gin..." She stared at the selection, which was more than she had ever been presented with, "Where did you get this?" She would not, in fact, ignore the mystery of all this food.

A year. That was all. It had only been a year since Justin’s mother had walked out on him - a year to the day, in fact, and here he was, in his new home. Not that he had ever really had a home, but it had been close, with his mother around. He had known it was only a matter of time until his father got tired of him, however, and now here he was with... well, he wasn’t sure who with.

His large blue eyes were wide as he looked round the room, so much larger than his old one, with the bed looking so warm and inviting. On the bed was the one cardboard box he had taken with him, a box full of his brother’s hand-me-down clothes. On top of the clothes sat a plastic dinosaur, chipped and beaten and broken just like Justin himself, that the redhead treasured more than anything.

He tensed as he heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs, an instinctive reaction; the dinosaur was instantly snatched up and held tightly in his arms, his grip protective. He turned to face the stranger, eyes wide and fearful, and waited for whatever was about to come next.

“ ‘scuse me, Mister... But... Why you got all them patterns on your arm?”

He’d been plucking up the courage for a good ten minutes to approach the giant man. Dark eyes wide as they scanned the tattoos trailing all the way up his arm and disappearing under his shirt. 

Tyler had seen people with tattoos before, but never anything quite like this. Nothing so intricate and bold. And so to his child mind, logic dictated that this must be something very different.

i’m sorry if i got you in trouble. 

i know your dad said you can’t see me anymore and i don’t know where you’re moving but we can when we’re grown up and they can’t tell us what to do. a long time though so they forget. is 20 years ok? come back to the old school in 20 years and i’ll be there. i promise 

and i’ll bring you flowers which are dumb and girly but i know you like them. plus, we can get married as grown ups and then we’ll always be in the same house.

don’t be a wimp at your new school or you’ll embarass me. go beat up the biggest kid there and everyone will be afraid and listen to you.
