I have this random theory within a theory—kind of silly, I'm sharing it here since Reddit might not be forgiving, lol.

So, you know the theory about Killer being part of the three-eye tribe? Well, considering recent events, it could be an intriguing reason to spare Kid and Killer. If the three-eye theory isn't just someone on crack, Shanks might have caught onto it. Perhaps he needs someone capable of hearing the voice of all things, and Blackbeard already kidnapped Pudding so, yeah.

This could be Shanks' motivation to “fish” out both Killer and Kid. Picture a scenario where Shanks strikes a deal with Killer: serve under him, and Kid stays alive. Given Killer's willingness to sacrifice himself for Kid and Shanks' proven capability (...to kill Kid), there's a chance Killer would agree.

And, of course, it sets the stage for some intense angst.

It's probably a long shot, and I'm likely overlooking details, but hey, it's an interesting idea.
