My Top 5 Favourite Characters: Voltron

The next character list I'll be doing involves Voltron: Legendary Defender, which is a complicated one to say the least, given how royally the writers f*cked up. Still, I'll give it a go!

1. Lotor

If you expected someone else, you clearly haven't been around my blog for long. Lotor is the embodiment of class and leadership! While he has his bad points, mainly manipulating others, he tries his best to do what's right and guide his people in the right direction. He has a lot more to his character than meets the eye, and I LOVE him for it!

2. Shiro

Not going to lie, I would have had a crush on him, had I not found out he was canonically gay. Now I just want him to find happiness and see him as the best leader and mentor for the Paladins! He's a kind character who is willing to see the good in others, and in a series as judgemental as this, he is a breath of fresh air.

3. Ryner

Could not find a gif of her, but she's the leader of the Olkari.

I mainly think she's awesome because my character in my fanfiction sees her as a close friend, and as a result I associate her with that role. But aside from that, I love how she takes on a mentor role to those she sees great potential in, and find her wise and interesting!

4. Keith

Keith wasn't this high on my list originally, but as a character, he had the most growth from episode one to season six! He went from a hotheaded asshole to a compassionate leader and I respect the hell out of him for it.

5. Pidge

She was higher on this list until she practically sentenced Lotor to death to save her father. I get that she was desperate to see him again, but never trust a tyrant to uphold their word. She's still a cool character, but that moment stained her for me, and lowered her from 3rd to 5th.

I love the idea that Keith listens to really angsty 2000s music but I also love the idea that he's obsessed with podcast. Especially podcast about cryptics.

Voltron+ Clothing

Lance owns three pairs of blue socks and he wears them on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only. On Friday he wears his party socks

Keith has a pair of cowboy boots stuffed in the back of his closet that no one knows about

Except Pidge because one day she walks in on Keith in full cowboy regalia strutting around in front of the mirror saying things like , “Howdy, pardner” and “What in tarnation”

She, of course, has receipts to blackmail him with

Pidge herself has a dirty secret— she sometimes wears the same clothes for days at a time without showering

It isn’t really a secret; the paladins can smell her from a mile away when she gets like this

Hunk does everyone’s laundry cause he’s their mom

Shiro once woke up to find two holes cut over where his nipples would be and he can’t decide of it was Keith or Pidge who did it

Plot twist: it was Lance

Lance once wore a full tux around the castle for two days straight (“two days bi, thank you very much”)

Keith just about had a heart attack every time Lance walked by

When asked why he was wearing a tux, Lance would simply reply, “everybody’s crazy for a sharp dressed man”

Keith sleeps in this old t-shirt of Shiro’s that says, “I am Gay thanks for asking”

One time Lance knocks on his door in the middle of the night for whatever reason, and Keith opens the door in that huge t-shirt proclaiming his sexuality and a rainbow headband and Lance.exe stops working for like five minutes

Hunk has six yellow headbands, and he switches them out

He wears no headbands on Sundays

upon being asked why, he only gets a dark look on his face and no one presses him about it

Lance knits little sweaters for the mice

Allura and Lance spend hours poring over fashion magazinesand comparing Altaen and Earthen trends

Summary:

Lance was used to coming home to find all sorts of new additions to his family, be it a cat, dog, chicken or the occasional new human sibling. But coming home to Keith Kogane on his doorstep was one stray too many.
