❤🦒❤🦒❤ @Regran_ed from @dswt - Kiko’s theatrics are not new to anyone at the Nursery; in fact, he’s had a flair for drama ever since we rescued him (as this photo, snapped when he was just a few months old, demonstrates!). That being said, he still manages to take us by surprise. He recently sidled up to the elephants and Keepers during a feeding time and busied himself by snacking from a nearby tree. The temptation to cause mayhem proved too much, however, and he soon made U-turn towards the wheelbarrow, giving it a massive kick and sending the milk bottles inside flying in all directions! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Add this mischievous fellow to your herd and foster Kiko today! @Regran_ed from @dswt - Despite their obvious differences, Tamiyoi and Kiko were going through much the same experience in October 2015: each baby was newly orphaned and getting used to life in our care. Now, both are the unofficial leaders of the Nursery — though for different reasons! Kiko thinks that because he’s the tallest member of the herd, he’s the de facto boss, while Tamiyoi is the newly appointed mini matriarch of all the other baby elephants. Nothing like a good giraffe video! This #FosterFriday, help Kiko celebrate his second birthday! When we rescued Kiko in September 2015, he was just a tiny one-week-old calf. He's certainly sprung up, in both size and spunk, in the intervening years! He loves his elephant family (even if he does occasionally like to antagonize them) and is slowly but surely coming into contact with wild giraffes in Nairobi National Park. When he's ready, Kiko will return to a life in the wild — but until then, he's enjoying life (and all the milk bottles that come with it) at the DSWT Nursery.
