Gift! Tell us about a gift you received that made you emotional

Most gifts I receive make me emotional, because I’m a very emotional person in general. One of my favorite gifts I’ve received in a while, though, is this:

would you rather see a YH reboot (same basic characters but new storylines), a recast (continuation from where YH left off but with diff actors as the main characters), or a spinoff (YH but from the pov of some of the other cadets)? and why?

Oh, definitely a spin-off. It’d be fun to see a scenario of, like, one of the gods attacking the academy, but from the perspective of a cadet who Did Not Sign Up For This Shit™. Also, personal bias, but I can’t think of anyone who’d be as good as the original cast at being their characters.

7. How do you go about making a character or NPC?

I generally just think 'what would be a cool concept' and try to make as close to it as I can.

Selenia's eyes remained fixed on the harp. In only a few more inches, it’d be within arms’ reach. Her fingers closed around the harp’s pillar. As she started to pull it towards herself, there was a clatter of coins behind her. She groaned, turning to look back at her companion. He now held the jug, beaming triumphantly. His look of triumph turned to one of concern, though, as he looked at something past her shoulder. Selenia’s blood ran cold as she slowly turned. The once-sleeping dragon was awake, golden eyes peering down at them. Though she knew it wouldn’t do much, she activated the chair’s second Thunderwave charge before quickly darting away from the dragon. The dragon snapped its jaws at her, just barely missing her.

28. What is the most memorable natural 1 you've experienced?

I recently rolled 2 natural 1s in a row on a CON save for my halfling bard, Selenia. Because of her negative modifier, the 1 was actually a 0.

34. Favorite accent to do for characters?

The ones I use most tend to be English accents. Depending on the character, it'll either be Cockney or British RP.

36. What was your first d&d character you made?

My first DnD character was a tabaxi druid named Birdy. She had a rat familiar called Gus.

What's a book you hope to read while quarantined? | What three emojis best describe your attitude towards what's going on right now? | Tell me an interesting fact.

1) I’ve forgotten which book I’m on in the Iron Druid Chronicles series, but it’d be nice to finish it. At the same time, though, I’m in no hurry because I don’t have very many books left in it and I don’t want it to end. lol

3) The reason why ‘roll the bones’ is a euphemism for rolling dice is because the earliest dice were, in fact, made of bones. Specifically the talus, or ankle bones, of hoofed animals.

5. a fun fact about your character?

Selenia loves romance novels and has a few on her person at all times. Squill’s eldritch cannon has a different name depending on the mode- Bob the Ballista (force ballista), Flamethrower Fred (flamethrower), and Sam the Shield (protector).

9. do you keep any dnd superstitions? (e.g., dice jail, “charging” dice on the lowest side, etc)

Call me silly if you want, but, every week that I have a game, I prep my dice by putting a piece of amethyst, some labradorite, and aventurine into my dice bag early in the week.

13. what’s something you’re working on as a player? (e.g., getting better at roleplay, thinking more tactically during combat, writing more notes, etc)

Coming up with backstory for my characters. Also, I’m trying to learn to not fret so much about ‘ugh, I should’ve done this instead of that’.
