This is a vintage Japanese boy's kimono, probably from the 1950s or earlier and would make an amazing display for your home or office! Fierce-looking fu dogs also known as komainu or imperial guardian lions are known as protectors and guardians. On this kimono they appear from smoky clouds, ready to pounce. Banded background with an angled line of family crests including arrow fletching. There is an unusually large, single crest stitched at the back of the neck, and bright turquoise ties that also have a stitched talisman on each side. These ties are common on children's kimono but they don't always survive the years in such good condition.
