President Vernon: “The Tome of Origin, written by the Original. I wonder if it is also his personal diary.” :D *grabs the book*

King Daryl: “Vernon, don’t do it. I’m serious, don’t.”

President Vernon: *opens the book*

Happy Chaos: *teleports in the scene and has Vernon at gunpoint* “The book, you’ve opened it....and I CAME.”

President Vernon: “Oh.”

King Daryl: “WHAT DID I TELL YOU?!”

In the Arcades, when Potemkin questioned why Leo Whitefang didn't send a Brigade unit or whatever, Leo said he got into an argument with them. Is there a hint on who he argued with in particular and why?

Leo says that it's his obligation as King to prove himself worthy to the people (Nobless Oblige... a Noble's Obligation).

Leo also says he still harbors bias against coexistence with Gears, which makes him ideal for the position in which he serves.

More or less, what Leo is saying is, while others like Ky and King Daryl can find a purpose and place for Non-humans, Leo has trouble accepting them in everyday society... and so, rather than force him in to a role where he has to make 'peace' with such beings openly... Leo prefers to act as the Hand of the Law.

That's not to say he is incapable of getting along with Gears, he is of course a close friend of Dr. Paradigm now...

It's just that, given Leo's past as a Survivor and Knight of the Crusades, he finds it is his duty to protect others from any 'surviving threats' that Gears pose. Even if Gears wish to live in Peace, that does not mean they are no longer Weapons or that their potential threat no longer exists.

Even a being such as a Nightless (a Vampire) poses a great threat to Humans if left unchecked.

Potemkin was just wondering why they sent the King HIMSELF to do the work instead of sending other Soldiers, since Leo's role is just as important as the other two Kings.

Leo also isn't the type to sit idle when it comes to Military actions, as he prefers to be the one giving orders whenever necessary... and while this might make most people think Leo butts heads with Ky and Daryl over these matters, the opposite is usually the case: Leo is a man worth their trust and gets things done that they can't always have the time to do.

Interestingly enough, this trio of Kings each cover their own weaknesses making for a highly effective combination when it comes to Political, Social, Economic, and other forms of work that need to be taken care of for the sake of Illyria.

Daryl is an expert in Groundwork and Negotiation. Daryl is also unaffected when it comes to stressful dangerous situations... even at Gunpoint he can speak rationally.

Leo specializes in the hard work and physical actions that are needed to run the Kingdom and keep the peace. Leo has the mindset of a Detective as well, so he can read a situation and understand things quickly.

Ky is a combination of both, but also has enough awareness and tactical foresight to predict what is needed in any given situation.

At any rate, Leo just wants to make sure Peace is maintained and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty to ensure that Peace.

Came to the realization that Third King Daryl...is the rich twink with a heart of gold in Guilty Gear and I’m weak.  (Side note-sweater and the mechanized fingers are references to my AU...the sweater beings to Knight.)
