Kane looked over the desolate plane before him, all that was there were some crumbled buildings, numerous construction workers/ law enforcement and a rickety water tower suspended by thin man-made supports. Someone did quite the number on this place... numerous signs of explosions and burns across the buildings and yards. To Kane it seemed like this place got worse by the minute. He heard footsteps coming from behind him so he turned nonchalantly "Hey, what brings you here?"
"I suppose you wouldn't want to do a favour for me...would you, honey?"
Kane had decided to go out for an early drive around town, no real purpose for doing so he took a box of his old things to go through. He had stopped outside of a building and parked, his fingers prying open the cardboard box that held the bits and pieces of a broken man's path. Pictures, journals, medals... they all lay scattered among the interior of Kane's '69 Camaro. He stifled tears with fake scoffs at his memories. He looked back at the man he was and remembered why he was brought to this god forsaken town... he fought tooth and nail so people could have their freedom and Kings City? It was taking it's toll on Kane... He was reading through a journal when he noticed someone approaching his car, he tossed the journal to the side and stepped out of the car, the person still approached, "Hey, something i can help you with?" Kane noticed at that moment that he left one of his medals pinned on the breast of his shirt, too late now, he could only hope that the person didnt notice it.
----Ugh, what time is it... Where am I?
The man they call "The Matador"
Kane had taken his time before going out on social ventures, the anonymous letters he kept getting had him constantly doing dirty jobs around the city. In fact earlier that morning he had burnt a house to the ground with the residents still inside. He sat now at a table enjoying a drink and watching the television report on the "Spontaneous fire". Still smelling of ash and smoke he saw someone approaching him. /play it cool Kane, no need to jump to conclusions./ Kane turned his head towards the person "Crazy isn't it? That place just burned for nearly 20 minutes and not a single fire fighter shows up." he shook his head in imitated disgust. "Makes you wonder what the hell is going on in this town. I'm Jason, new in town. Care for a drink? I'll buy." He figured it was a good idea to get to know some of the folks around town to keep his cover intact.
It wasn't unusual to see crime openly in the streets of Kings City- it fact, it was almost expected. Although, just because the experience of seeing a mugging or someone being chased at knife point was frequent, that didn't mean it didn't always shake Grace. She hated walking home alone after a client, but it was safer than taking a taxi in this city, so Grace walked, her hand closed around her keys in her pocket in a poor attempt of emergency self defence. Although, upon hearing a scream, Grace's head flicked to the side, where a guy was being dangled over the railings of a balcony by two other men at least four floors up. It was only a few seconds before the two men obviously decided they weren't going to get what they wanted from the dangled man, and with that they dropped him, the noise of his body hitting the floor sickening and making Grace cry out in shock. Obviously, this drew the attention of the two men, who began to point at her and disappeared back into the flat, and Grace knew better of this town than to expect them just to let a witness go that easily. She ran instantly, cutting down two alleyways in the hope of the maze of alleys startling them, before bumping viciously into someone as she turned a sharp corner. Grace went flying, taking down the other person with her accompanied by an 'oof!'
