"I suppose you wouldn't want to do a favour for me...would you, honey?"
The man they call "The Matador"
Kane raised a brow to the woman “I have new written all over me, oh okay. So will that wash off when i shower?” He mocked her tone lightly. He situated in his seat getting more comfortable, his excitement faded into his relaxed stoicism. “Then perhaps you could tell me something. When i came to this town, i got a letter from someone. Fancy envelope. It was welcoming me to the town and all that. Does your husband send these out to people?” He was only giving enough information to try and find out who he was getting these anonymous letters from. He figured someone high up had to be pulling his strings so why not throw some small details towards the mayor’s wife and see if she knew anything about it.
Marilyn couldn't stifle back the chuckle that slipped between her red painted lips. Her eyes looking towards the tough male, shaking her head softly before her demeanor almost instantly changed upon his words. This time she shook her head a little more seriously. "No he doesn't" stated the political figure --"Why? what kind of letter did you get?" questioned the woman.
The man they call "The Matador"
Kane watched this woman attempt to analyze him. Military life trained him to have no tells, instead he offered a cocky grin. He poured her a generous amount of whiskey on top of several ice cubes before passing it her way. And then it hit him, how could he have not instantly recognized her? Ina flurry of excitement he spoke his mind “Holy shit, That’s who you are. The wife of Mr.Mayor. I feel like a damn fool not seeing that the moment you walked in.” He cleared his throat a bit “Wasn’t expecting to find the mayor’s wife in a dinky place like this.” He quirked a brow at her last comment “You can tell i’m new? Why because i didn’t try to mug you on your way in?” he scoffed.
Taking the glass from his hands, holding it delicately she took a sip as she sat down on one of the seats. Grinning towards him as she saw the realisation hit the male. Nodding her head cockily she leaned forward a tad. "I am the wife of Mr. Mayor" mused Marilyn before a chuckled scoff followed her words. Licking her lips she raised her brows, shaking her head --"no one tries to mug me" proclaimed the figure "no, you just have new written all over you sir" added on the blonde.
The man they call "The Matador"
The blonde caught his eyes and held them there. She didn’t break her firm eye contact, a sign that she was obviously a big figure within the town. Not many people could look at Kane and not shy away. “Well i wouldn’t have offered if I wasn’t going to follow through for a lady like yourself.” He motioned for the waiter to come over “So what’s your vice miss?” He winked to her casually “I expect you to finish whatever you order. By the way, I’m Kane, i’m new to this town.” He had grown proficient at reading the people of this town and he could have sworn he saw this woman on the local news somewhere but couldn’t quite thumb her down.
She kept her eyes upon him, watching his moves and choices before a soft grin crawled upon her lips and a single nod portrayed towards the stoic appearing male. "Whisky on the rocks" stated she. For a girl with such a glamorous exterior Marilyn enjoyed her harder drinks. She'd always found it easier to drink that way during her younger years- a habit that hadn't faded. "I always finish, Kane" mused the mayors wife. He was new to town but he still yet hadn't placed two and two together. But until he did, playing along with him seemed fun enough. "I can tell you're new"
The man they call "The Matador"
Kane had taken his time before going out on social ventures, the anonymous letters he kept getting had him constantly doing dirty jobs around the city. In fact earlier that morning he had burnt a house to the ground with the residents still inside. He sat now at a table enjoying a drink and watching the television report on the “Spontaneous fire”. Still smelling of ash and smoke he saw someone approaching him. /play it cool Kane, no need to jump to conclusions./ Kane turned his head towards the person “Crazy isn’t it? That place just burned for nearly 20 minutes and not a single fire fighter shows up.” he shook his head in imitated disgust. “Makes you wonder what the hell is going on in this town. I’m Jason, new in town. Care for a drink? I’ll buy.” He figured it was a good idea to get to know some of the folks around town to keep his cover intact.
Waling into the bar the elegant blonde had her eyes glued to the television before raising a brow out of suspicion. A voice bringing her eye sight to level with a tall brunette male, older than she but not by much. When he introduced himself the young lady extended her hand in greeting. "Marilyn King" she stated confidently. No shy eye contact, powerful if anything. "If you're buying" a quick smile with a single nod.
"I can help you with the latter, Mrs. King." Katrina picked up the papers and handed them to the woman.
Marilyn took the pieces from the young blonde, nodding her head before placing them in a folder --looking back towards Katrina. "Such an attitude is unbecoming on someone pretty Miss Boleyn"
"Is there something you want?"
"besides a change in your attitude sweetheart, just the papers beside you"
Hello, beautiful.
You look very stressed baby, what's wrong?
Hey, again— I learn from the best.
What’s even so important to do at times like these? Doesn’t he have like, a giant target on his back? If you keep up the compliments I’m not going to be able to get my head out the front door.
I need you to take over this town one day
Some crap he's going through or ...something. He's got extra security on the house and everything it's insane.. oh honey I could compliment you for days,
What a day.
Dear god, there you are honey. I've been looking for you all day.
Marilyn! ——Oh, you know I get my manners from you.
You’re a god sent. It’s been such a long day and mom’s been MIA, someone needs to remind her that’s she’s not a teenager anymore.
You're a boss and I love it.
Trust me, I know. My husbands that same, I haven't laid eyes on him in like two days. The place looks spectacular though, darling. You're a master piece, I'm proud.
——Can I help you? You look super lost. Here, I’ll make it easy for you. Are you here to see the show, or are you looking for somebody in particular? I’m off in five, so talk fast.
--Miss Young, I thought you had better manners than that. I have coffee.
Okay Mrs. King, far out. We wouldn’t be having this discussion if you didn’t talk to me about some stupid meeting. Which you’re probably late for now.
okay, please quit that attitude with me hon...I'll let you go then
"I’ve never heard truer words in my twenty-six years of life. We most definitely are. But hey, what are you doing later on tonight? I figured we could grab a drink or two."
That would be amazing, I honestly need it. Did you want me to pick you up or did you wanna meet at the bar?"
