He knew he did not need an excuse-but he couldn't miss the opportunity that presented itself. Gently taking her hand, Yuugi pulled her close-his lips clashing against hers gently, free arm wrapped around her waist as he held her closer to himself.

Unexpected affection was by far Anzu’s favourite form of love, especially when it was coming from someone she actually loved. While giving him a great tour of where she was currently living, seeing as he was planning to stay for a little while as a surprise visit, Anzu hadn’t anticipated him to suddenly grab her hand. Shutting her up but also grabbing her attention rather quickly.

❝Yuugi?❞ She asked, but his name was short lived on her tongue when he pulled her in close, feeling his heart pounding within his chest. The little space between their bodies didn’t last too long before she felt a pair of soft lips encasing her own. Instead of pushing him away or pulling away, Anzu stayed and felt her legs quiver as if about to collapse from her weight. Wrapping her arms securely around the male’s neck, light pink fingernails found their way inside of his hair, as if pulling him closer.

Anzu wanted this moment to last forever, and of course there were always going to be more opportunities to steal kisses from him, but none as amazing as the one they were sharing now.

There was definitely no place like home, especially when she lived abroad for the last six months. Finally settled back in Japan for the summer break felt like a relief, being around people she's known all her life and not having to worry about speaking a different language for once. It was a relief, really. Even more when she spent a lot of her break either working or curled up in Yuugi's bed, watching him play games or watching whatever appealed to them at that moment.

It was only when she had to get ready for work that the male had alternative plans for her. Immediately, she felt strong arms snake themselves around her waist and pull her back down on the bed, keeping her in place.

❝Yuugi, c'mon..I can't be late.❞

"I know this is kind of awkward for me to say, but..happy birthday, mirror. I wish you well."

❝I’ll admit..it is rather weird, but thank you, mirror. Happy birthday to you, as well.~❞

          ❝ It has been some time, hasn’t it? ❞ He let out a light chuckle, relieving the other from the weight of his body, but not too far to pull away from him. Ryou knew that the topic of games would be something the other would enjoy, and what a better way than bring with his own game and system.  ❝ Ah, I had beaten Heart Gold a while ago, but I restarted the game and decided to play a certain challenge. When his friend had mentioned his mother now being brought back into the modern world, Yuugi didn't know what exactly to expect from her. Of course his friend had invited him to meet her, and in all honesty it just made the paler of the two all the more nervous-the only ounce of royalty he has ever been around was the Pharaoh himself-Atem. So, when the door to the former queen's home opened-Yuugi smiled and bowed. "Hello, Miss. I'm A friend of Atem's."

The idea of meeting Atem’s friends had never crossed the former monarch’s mind, seeing as it would be too “weird” for someone whose been dead for thousands of years to meet his friends and explain to them that she was indeed, his mother. Meeting Yuugi, however, had been the only exception partially due to the fact alone that he was Atem’s closest friend, his former host. She’s seen his friendships growing up, but he’s never spoken as highly to them as he did Yuugi.

Honestly, Nefertari didn’t know what to expect from the boy who shared his soul with her only son, but from what she was seeing, they were definitely going to get along. 

❝Ah, yes. Yuugi, right?❞ She asked, her smile already falling upon ruby lips. ❝Atem’s told me quite a lot about you, please, come in.~❞

Red rose (because lbr-he's cheesy af)

Care packages and small gifts were common place, most from her parents on the occasions where she couldn’t afford to go back home for holidays like birthdays and Christmas, or even on the odd vacation weeks the school had set up for the school year. 

When an email came from the post office that she had yet another package, baby blues widened in surprise. Her parents hadn’t mentioned that they were planning to send anything, maybe the guys who organized packages had made a mistake. Still, it didn’t stop her from going down to the office and picking up the package that was intended for her.

Getting back to her apartment, her roommate long gone in order to make it to class on time, she tossed her bag onto the couch and glanced at the label, noticing a familiar handwriting, the messy calligraphy distinct. 

It was from Yuugi. 

Anzu hadn’t expected to receive a package from him, he hadn’t mentioned anything about it. Was it an intentional secret? Even so, she would have at least wanted to know what he was planning.

Opening the box carefully, using a pair of scissors she had grabbed from the drawer in the kitchen to slice the tape holding the box closed and flipped the top. Not knowing what to expect, and knowing Yuugi very well by now, he could have had anything in this box, from food to something small to remind her of home.

What she got instead..was a single red rose.

A romantic at heart, Anzu carefully took the rose from the box being careful not to prick herself on the thorns as she went to inspect it. The rose hadn’t wilted during it’s long journey, which was good. Would have been a shame if it had before it got to her, and judging by the sweet smell that lingered, it wasn’t cut too long before it was sent out.  

A smile soon tugged at the corners of her mouth, her nose buried within the silk petals as she drank in the scent, her fingertips dancing against the stem while avoiding the thorns that would have made her bleed. As always, Yuugi was unpredictable..and truthfully, Anzu wouldn’t have him any other way. 

Even when they were thousands of miles apart, she still adored his little gestures..if only there was a way to repay him. To show that she, too, loved him as much as he did.

'Oops' huh? He chuckles, leaning over to kiss her on the lips, his hand moving to grope at her rear and squeeze before releasing her. "oops~"

A grin crossed her lips once the other came close, her arms finding their place around his neck with the intent of returning his kiss. It wasn’t long her face flushed a deep red with his hand at her ass, but never did she bother to swat him away.
