Akahana “Aka” Fuchi/Cure Circus

Transformation Phrase: “Stepping into the Spotlight! Tsukkomi Clown! Cure Circus!”

Akahana Fuchi is member of the Natsuemu Middle School Theater Club. She’s well known by her classmates for being humble and proper. But she’s actually very held back, masking the parts of herself that she fears people will see her as “weird” for. As a kid she used to want to be a clown, but after being teased for it, she gave up on it entirely. She transforms into the Clown Precure known as “Cure Circus”. The tsukkomi (straightman) clown of the duo.

Transformation Phrase: “Stumbling into Happiness! Boke Clown! Cure Auguste!”

A clumsy but enthusiastic and wacky transfer student at Natsuemu Middle School. She’s a clown from the magical world of Sky Circus who’s disguised herself as a human girl to find the Precure, not knowing she would become one herself. She’s excitable and goofy, but also doesn’t quite know the appropriate time to joke. She transforms into the Clown Precure known as “Cure Auguste”. The boke (fool) clown of the duo.

Pipi/Cure Balloon (Mid Season Cure)

Transformation Phrase: “Poppin’ in with Playfulness! Balloon Animal! Cure Balloon!”

Kioko’s loyal pet balloon dog. They’re playful and chipper, but also afraid of being left behind by Aka and Kioko, always wanting to be included and to be helpful. They transform into the Clown Precure known as “Cure Balloon” the balloon animal sidekick.

You said in the recent story that Midas is hesitant to be in a romantic relationship. I'm not sure whether or not this would be an angsty prompt, but maybe he rejects a confession from someone but they're mutually pining for each other? Or unless that doesn't fit his character at all, mutually pining from afar but his fears and denials are getting in the way of making any move?

The first time Midas lied to you was when he said he didn’t love you.

Not like that, at least.

Your face fell, and though you tried to stop the tears, there was no hiding that you were crestfallen.

It almost tore his soul in two.

He doesn’t lie. Hates to make a habit of it, after years and years of hiding behind his brother’s back to chase a high that never scratched the itch it needed to - he was done lying.

Or so he thought.

What else was he supposed to tell you? That he loves you but you deserve better? That everyone he’s loved he’s hurt in ways he can’t ever really remedy, and he can’t have that happen with you? That he’s scared he’ll drag you down with him?

No, you’d only argue with him.

You’re stubborn like that.

However, he knows he’s right in lying. The ring hanging from his necklace in honor of his late mate is all the proof he needs.

The second time Midas lied to you, was when you told him about Forest.

Forest was this guy who you’d been hanging out with occasionally… and then, a lot more frequently. Despite being your best friend, Midas clocked the lack of time you’ve had for him recently.

It’s only natural, when someone gets into a relationship that their priorities shift. It just cuts a little deeper, considering his feelings for you.

But when you finally told him the “official” news that he knew was coming, Midas just smiled and said he was happy for you.

And… he was, distantly.

Happy that you were happy.

But, unjustified jealousy curled in his ribcage something fierce.

The third time Midas lied to you, was after your first fight with Forest.

You were in the middle of moving into his place, the dynamics naturally shifted a bit, and to top it all off you had recently started a new job - resulting in you having high stress levels that did not mesh well with what should have been a little squabble.

With the way you showed up at his doorstep in tears, wearing a ridiculous mix of pj’s and winter gear to combat the cold… told him it was not just a little squabble.

You cried to him, relaying the story, as he held you close.

And you asked him, point blank: “Do you think I’m doing the right thing, moving in with him?”

Everything in his being told him to grab your shoulders and shake you. To tell you to look at him, and only him. He wouldn’t let you leave upset, half-dressed in the middle of the night - no matter how angry he was at you.

He could treat you better.

But could he really?

Instead, he just patted your cheeks dry with a tissue, and told you: “yes, you are.”

The fourth time Midas lied to you, was when you asked him to be your wedding photographer.

It made sense, he is your best friend after all and that is what he does for a living. It made so much sense, that he should have seen it coming a mile away.

But he didn’t, and the shock must’ve shown, because you just laughed and shoved him playfully, asking him if he really didn’t think you would want him to capture your wedding day.

He made some stupid joke about kidnapping your wedding and holding it for ransom and how it’d pay a lot more than the gig would - dodging your lighthearted punch in response.

Once you sobered, you watched him thoughtfully, asking in a genuine tone if he really wanted to take the job or not.

Midas just smiled and told you he would love to.

That’s how he ends up here, telling his fifth lie to you, and deciding from here on out, he’s going to stop counting.

He’s bound to lose count at this rate, anyways.

All night, he’s watched you, dressed to the nines, looking as stunning as ever… next to someone else.

You look up at someone else with all the love in the world, and he watches from the sidelines, capturing it and solidifying it forever in a memory.

He cracks jokes, mingles about and does his best to do his job right, getting genuine smiles out of his subjects, and making sure to do a bit of shit disturbing to capture some embarrassing moments as well.

He can’t be too nice, you are his best friend after all.

But his shoulders feel heavy, and his soul beats mournfully behind his sternum.

This mask is harder and harder to maintain around you, but nonetheless, when you ask if he’s having fun, he just gives you a smile and says:

“of course i am, doofus.”

You're a little giddy as you make your approach to the house. Something finally happened to you that made you smile wide. You were quite excited to tell Hound. You enter the house with a huge smile, smelling something from the kitchen. You hurry to meet Hound, who is wearing an apron and cooking for you. He hears you and smiles.

"Welcome home, sweetheart! You said you had good news a bit earlier, so I decided to make something a bit for you. For this special occasion." Hound grins broadly at you as you approach, and he kisses you before returning to cooking. "Sit down and relax a little, sweetheart; I'll be there soon. I want you to have something to eat right away." He says as you nod and anxiously proceed to sit down. You can see he arranged the table nicely. It looked like he was preparing for an unplanned date, which made you happy.

You finally received two job offers and put in your two weeks. You know he'd be delighted to hear that. You hear him plate the food, and he approaches you. He gets something and starts playing lovely music. He smiles as he places the plate in front of you. He kisses you on the cheek.

"Bone appetit, sweetheart~." Hound chuckles as he sits across from you. He leans on his hands and smiles broadly at you. "So what's this good news you were so excited to tell me?" Hound had the kindest eyes and the tenderest of grins, and you broke into a great smile.

You tell him what occurred, and his eyes light up a little more than before as he grabs you, hugs you, and spins you right away after sitting down. He laughs and kisses you all over the face, making you giggle slightly.

"Congratulations, sweetheart! I am so proud of you!" Hound grins as he kisses you and hugs you close. He puts more kisses all over your face as he holds you extra close. He softly chuckles. "Sorry, honey. I got a little excited. Let us get back to our date." Hound smiles as he sets you down and returns to his side of the table, while you sit across from him. You two begin to talk about your respective days as you both eat.

You smile a little more as you two finish dinner, and he casually pushes the table over and pulls you into a ridiculous little waltz dance so he can dip and kiss you. The dance was fluid, cheerful, and full of energy. He did, in fact, dip you and kiss you repeatedly. But then you two ended up cuddling on the couch while he switched on a new movie that you both wanted to see. He hugs you close to his waist and places his chin on your head as you sink onto his lap. He drapes a blanket around the two of you, kissing your cheek while you watch the movie.

You cuddle closer as you understand there will be more to come for the rest of the day, thanks to all the excitement you create as he holds you near.
