c!quackity is such a c!tommy apologist and i love him for it like yes,,, manipulation and all that other shit c!quackity’s up to rn is bad and him being a canon inniter (/hj) doesn’t negate that but like . GODDAMN is it nice to hear SOMEONE on the server acknowledge that c!tommy has been through some messed up shit and is still going through some messed up shit and that while that doesn’t excuse every bad thing c!tommy has ever done it certainly excuses some of it and at the very least explains a lot of the rest, and also that regardless of all of that a lot of the stuff people tend to villainise c!tommy for is relatively harmless if you look at it objectively while offering him even a modicum of understanding

c!tommy wanting to build a memorial statue of ghostbur today made me Feel Things man :(

c!tommy loves ghostbur so fucking much dude. not just as an extension of c!wilbur or as some watered down replacement for c!wilbur to fill the gap he left when he died but as a seperate person, tommy’s FRIEND, who deserves to be mourned. meanwhile, every other character treats ghostbur’s death as immaterial if not a net positive, merely a necessary step in the process of bringing back regular wilbur, and treat tommy like he’s a weirdo for not doing the same. no one else mourns ghostbur because they don’t see him as a whole person, and as a result they don’t care about him anymore (and if they do, it’s not nearly as much as they did before) bc “the real wilbur” is back now.

the fact that c!tommy is more or less the only character really mourning ghostbur is just such a good fucking detail in the context of c!tommy’s characterization in general bc c!tommy’s defining quality is time and time again proven to be his attachments, for better or for worse. the kid cares. and the humanity he shows to ghostbur even after ghostbur no longer serves that role of Local C!Wilbur Replacement is such a good example of why despite how much shit it gets him into at times, c!tommy’s attachment to things he cares about is a virtue. 

he cares so intensely for everyone and everything he loves bc he’s effectively incapable of loving in halves, no matter the trouble it causes him. this is the crux of his motivations in the disc saga, in pogtopia/his relationship with c!wilbur in general, in his dedication to l’manberg, and so of course it extends to the anxious unassuming ghost no one else gives a shit about outside of where he’s confined to c!wilbur’s shadow.
