Any news the past couple of days?

UGH.

No. Not really. No exciting information other than the fact that it’s going to be a while until we have more information.

Definitely NOT leaving on our target date of Jan 12th. Potentially still planning to be there to start on the 18th, but not if the contract negotiations continue to drag out like this.

We need to have an agreement and have money change hands before anyone can put me on a plane. We were all geared up to leave on the 12th, and we are still geared up to leave ASAP…

Waiting is one of my FAVORITE things…

Five Random Things

i tried not to share facts that i have already shared, but after a while it becomes more difficult.  some of these may be repeats from previous random facts.

You must share five random facts about yourself. Then pass this on to some of your favorite followers:

1. i am listed as co-inventor on a patent  for a method of stabilizing trichloroethane during production. 

2. i have taken at least one class or short course at the following colleges:  LSU, U of Houston, Houston Community College, Nicholls State, McNeese State, Colorado State.

3. at LSU, i switched majors from biology to chemical engineering because i liked the chemistry, but didn't have to take a foreign language.

4.  i had terrible study habits at LSU and finished through perseverance and with not so good grades..  :-\

5. to improve my study habits, i read "Getting Straight A's" before i took a couple of classes at U of Houston and i've only made A's since reading that book. :-)

Getting ready to GO!

I flew to St. Louis today in advance of the GO! St. Louis marathon and some business meetings on Monday.  And at the packet pickup this afternoon I met a Tumblr friend (KirbyDoesLife).  I've only been on Tumblr for a few months, so this was my first in person meeting.  It was great getting to know someone in person that I'd only previously followed online.  KirbyDoesLIfe is doing the half on Sunday and I'm beginning to wish I'd decided to do the same, rather than running the full.  We'll see.

Hopefully if any of you decide to do any racing or training in the Minneapolis area you'll let me know so we can meet too.

How often do you do CF workouts and run the same day?

Once a week on Wednesdays for now. I would normally do just crossfit for my "rest day", but I've had to rearrange the Hansons marathon plan a bit for the winter. Since there's not enough daylight before or after work on Fridays, I moved the easy run to Wednesday when I'm home during the day. I work night shift Tue/Wed/Thu, so I have a bit more freedom to do the hard stuff in the middle of the week. I wouldn't recommend doubling up like that, but so far it's been okay.

I know its necessary, but it kind if takes the fun out of giving a compliment!

snapthistiger:  unfortunately, i think some men before us and even now do not know how to behave as gentlemen and that has made it necessary to over-communicate our good intention before giving a compliment.
