"Augh, it's so cold," Hanagaki sighed as he came out next to him.
Kisaki rolled his eyes. Figures that Hanagaki would say something so obvious. He would worry about him more, but the truth was that he was the idiot for expecting otherwise at this point. With a deep breath through his nose, he wondered what he was going to do with this idiot. At the very least, Matsuno and Hanagaki's other dog should be coming so he didn't have to worry about the fact that their gang's two worst fighters were alone.
He sighed. There was still so much to do, and that said nothing about the asshole next to him who was determined to add more to that stack.
"Tetta," Hanagaki called out, his voice sweet and hiding all of his terrible acts of pure stupidity, "Do you think that it's going to snow?"
"It's cold enough for it," he replied simply. "You should have learned that in science class."
"Don't be a dick," Hanagaki scowled back. "I'm just saying. It'll be so pretty."
Kisaki scowled. Why couldn't he want something that he could give him? Damn Hanagaki and his stupid thoughts.
"Oh, Tetta," he called out, and like a trained dog, Kisaki's steps stopped. He turned his head to look at Hanagaki, who shuffled awkwardly behind him. With a growing frown, he turned over his shoulder to keep an eye on him, until Hanagaki stopped.
Just like that, he moved Kisaki to the side, keeping him away from the side of traffic. He ran their shoulders together, nudging him further into the sidewalk, and Kisaki could remember, just a few years ago, when Hanagaki was actually taller than him. And now, Hanagaki's head tilted up to look at him and still, Kisaki felt so small.
"You wanna come over and play something?"
Kisaki's heart did that atrociously dumb thing, where it flipped upside down and inside out, and despite every reason to not be stuck between Hanagaki and his dogs, he shrugged.
"I have nothing better to do," he said, and hoped it was very clear that he really had nothing better to do.
"Whoohooo!" he shouted out with little regard for anyone else, and especially not Kisaki's eardrums. The other teen scowled at him, and wondered when it became so hard to keep it up.
And as always, Hanagaki laughed and Kisaki felt like spring would come early.
