how it feels like Cassie is moving rn
(genuinely scared for Ty and not sure if I even wanna start twp at this point. Maybe that'll fade once I get my copy in the mail when it comes out.)
I really hope we see Ty’s penchant for releasing animals/things from captivity in TWP like he did once at the shadow market in TDA. Like, at any given opportunity he does this, not matter how practical or dangerous it is. In the middle of a battle but sees a mistreated faerie steed tied up? Ty instantly releases no matter the personal cost. On a grocery run with Kit during the road trip and sees a lobster in a fish tank? Ty smuggles that thing out and tracks down the specific spot the lobster could thrive in for him to release it.
I just think the moment Ty let the creatures free (I don’t remember exactly what they were) in TDA showcased the aspect of Ty that I love most: that he deeply cares for people/beings who are being caged either literally or metaphorically be society’s expectations/prejudices. He empathizes deeply with people are seen as different and does what he has to do to help them. I just really want this side of him to shine through in TWP.
TWP theory that I hope doesn’t turn out to be true: What if the necromancy performed on Livvy turns her insane/evil and the only way for her to be well is for Ty to give up his life for her to be resurrected? The scales of life and death would be balanced. A life for a life, the gaping hole in the universe knits itself back together the moment Livvy is back in her mortal body and Ty breaths his last breath.
Ty does it because Livvy becomes a danger to the entire shadowhunter society and possibly even Downworlders. But also because he knows deep down that Livvy would never have wanted this to happen and that he has to be the one to end it since he brought her back.
Bonus theory: Kit is so distraught that he gives up his powers in a bargain to bring Ty back through whatever means possible (possibly through some sort of deal with an entity in Faerie or even heaven itself).
I don’t think Cassie would write something that sad (and I hope she doesn’t), but I do think it would be interesting to talk more about how Livvy could potentially have a villain arc.
Do you think Livvy will remember the afterlife? Because it’s not like she died and then instantly came back as a ghost, she was fully dead/at rest for an entire book.
We know Ty will have secrets, but will Livvy too? In protecting Ty’s feelings will she never mention the happiness she experienced at being reunited with their parents (especially their mom)? The feeling of airy lightness of being untethered from the pain of the mortal world?
Or is shadowhunter afterlife just a ceasing of existence and there’s nothing for her to really remember? (I just don’t feel like it would be)
I really want Livvy to end up fully resurrecting in TWP. Now, I want to start this off by saying that I know it’s unlikely and might be as hard hitting emotionally for the overall plot.
However, I desperately need to see this girl, who retrospectively seemed doom from the beginning, get to snatch her destiny back from fate itself. She deserves to get to be a main character, someone whose lifelong dream of protecting/nurturing people is able to be realized.
Like, think about this for a second. Everything she’s wanted has been taken from her. When she wanted her older siblings back, she instantly gets murdered right after they re-enter her life (like, literally the day after Helen comes back if I’m remembering correctly). She just wanted her family back together but never got to see it actually happen. Secondly, in TDA she also seemed very concerned with Ty being ok. Yet, she’s the exact reason (through no fault of her own) that Ty ends up making a horrible decision that is likely killing him and will have horrendous consequences for the world. Not to mention that it cuts him off from one of the people most important to him - Kit.
And when it comes to her being resurrected by Ty, she gets wrenched from afterlife where she was at peace, without a consideration of it that’s what she truly wanted. Another thing that I find interesting is thg she’s not being talked of as a protagonist for TWP, even though it couldn’t happen without her and she will likely be present throughout the entire book (I’m not saying that to diss Cassie, I just think it points to something interesting about Livvy’s character design and what is in store for her in TWP).
I don’t know, it just feels like she’s this pawn that people push around on the chess board that is the plot of TDA and TWP to fulfill other people’s wants and needs (or the plot’s needs). And I just need her to forcefully take back her autonomy, defy the plot expectations and the laws of death itself.
Have we been talking about how Kit's first show of power appeared the day after he participated with Ty in the resurrecting spell?
Bc it's probably just a coincidence, but my mind cannot stop trying to form a crazy theory around that using the fact that:
The princes of hell have a plan.
There is a prince of hell that is said to take advantage of people grieving.
Ty said that Livvy was calling for him to bring her back.
Livvy didn't seem to want to be awakened.
Ash is going to be appalled when he learns that Kit literally only has one good jacket and it‘s made out of denim
I’m so ready to see what their dynamic is going to be like
the characterization of james in anna's and matthew's short stories make me a bit sad particularly because i wish that CC would lean more into "nerd trapped in a hot body" when she was writing him throughout TLH
Kevin and Andrew going to see Jean and finding out Neil had also been there:
Kevin vs Andrew watching Neil sass Riko on national television via Kathy’s show
okay how’s this @welcome-to-the-end-of-eras
jean moreau unintentionally becoming a trans ally because top surgery doesn’t harm athletic performance has to be one of my top aftg moments of all time
sometimes I think about how Wymack made the foxes because he never wanted another kid to go through what he did only for his own son to qualify. and then i stare into the sun
@helenofblackthorns Jocelyn, Tessa, and the Seelie Queen should have a brunch together or something, to keep busy while ignoring their grandkids
Is Ty really that pretty? Hehe
People definitely comment that he's attractive in TLKOF!

So! This is a perfect case study in situations where you should be wary of misinformation.
Take a moment and ask yourself, a project like this requires a lot of time, money and dedication of resources, why would scientists dedicate that time to something that could just be done by a tree?
The answer is they wouldn't. So that means this claim requires further investigation!
This project is called LIQUID 3, and it's not meant for cities with wide open spaces, it's meant for cities like Belgrade in Serbia. These cities are densely populated and heavily polluted, to the point where pollution actually chokes out current trees and makes creating green spaces difficult.
Liquid 3 was a PhD scientists answer to these problems. The microalgae tank is intended for spaces where you either:
Don't have enough space to plant full trees, or
Don't have enough time to plant trees and wait for them to grow up.
The tank is extremely efficient when you consider the amount of space needed compared to the amount of CO2 turned into oxygen. The tank can operate throughout the winter. And most importantly, it can be quickly set up in areas that desperately need relief from air pollution NOW not in 10 years when trees are done growing. Children currently suffocating on polluted air can't wait for trees to grow, they need to be taken care of now, and Liquid 3 is one of the ways to take care of them. Depending on the species of microalgea used, a number have shown a pretty amazing capacity to pull heavy metals out of the air which is something trees can get choked up by.
The tanks aren't just tanks either! Liquid 3 have solar panels placed on top, they have lighting and mobile phone charging, and they work as public benches. The designers of it want to encourage green spaces where there's room, but where there isn't room or time, Liquid 3 can step in. Realistically, this isn't a replacement for trees. It's replacing boring metal city benches with new, cooler benches that also clean the air (and have at least some heating during the winter).
Not only that, but the microalgea that grows is native to Serbia and all that microalgea has a ton of great uses! It makes for great fertilizer, compost, wastewater treatment, cleaner biofuels and even for helping create new tanks for further air purification. They only require a quick algae divide once a month, and the produced algae can be carted off to where ever it's needed. This makes them effective solutions for areas that can't sustain complex installations.
So yeah, there's actually quite a lot of places that would like these. Lots of people currently breathing in terrible quality air would much rather have their boring city benches replaced with really fucking cool algae tanks that clean the air and can be used to help create + sustain future green spaces in cities. I dunno about you, but I'd take that over a dumb metal bench any day. Put these at every bus stop and I'd be delighted.
can ppl pls reblog this version
Serbian here living in Belgrade! This is all true and I've actually seen some of these around the city a few times. They're amazing at what they do and really cool to watch up close because you can see pretty swirling inside them. It's not only functional but aesthetically pretty nice as well!
