idk if anyone else has had this thought, but here goes:

kit’s last name for most of his life is Rook

a Rook is, yes, a type of bird but it’s also a chess piece

the chess piece is a castle

as of the end of TDA & the beginning of TWP, kit is staying with jem, tessa & mina who are members of the Carstairs family

what is the symbol of the Carstairs family, class?

that’s right, it’s a castle

and, in chess, the Rook can protect the King with a move called ‘castling’

foreshadowing kit saving ash or kieran (or both) in some way in TWP

this could also foreshadow his own Kingship over all of Fae by the end of the series

the one thing i will say about tlkof is that it was pretty dumb of kit to assume that ty, the boy who wouldn't give up on his sister through death, avid and notoriusly immovable obstinate, would even eventually ever accept that he'd lost him

Like I so want to believe that we’ll get a load of romance but it’s literally just going to be a trio road trip the entire time since we know Ty and Livvy can’t stray too far from one another 😭

I know she said that Blackthorns get down and dirty in every book but part of me believes she’s leading us on and she’s actually referring to Dru because how on Earth is that going to happen between KitTy when Ty’s sister is right next door 😭😭😭

i actually need kit to be the one who is terrible at flirting. he has the looks but doesn't know what to do with them. so insecure that he always says the most awkward shit. antithesis of a herondale.

i need ty to be the better flirt. ty who is very calculated about his own looks and knows how to use them. he might be not the best with people but he learned how to mask. he oozes confidence. he might not be the charmer but he knows how to get what he wants from people.

i do still really want kit to be a terrible shadowhunter like. not great at combat. literally does not gaf about crime. thinks shadowhunter society sucks and should be disbanded. no respect for authority or structure or tradition or law. hates applying marks more than most anything else. does not get along with the vast majority of nephilim and does not try to. would steal and pawn the mortal instruments on the black market if he thought he could get away with it and it wouldn't cause another war.

I know Livvys presence as a ghost is a bit unconventional considering she was brought back by Ty BUT…they say that ghosts are those who have unfinished business and can’t pass on until it’s settled…what if Livvys unfinished business is waiting for Ty to pass so that they can pass over together… entered this world together and therefore she’s here until he’s ready to leave it together 🥺

Or alternatively it’ll be seeing him safe and alive in which case we see her go during twp…

do you guys think Ty is angry at Kit because he went awol for four years or because he gave Ty the impression he was okay with trying to raise Livvy and then backed out or a secret but equally as devastating third reason
