Revenge is Sweet || Wildeberry
Date: December 4th. Late afternoon
Location: McKinley High School Auditorium.
Starring: Rachel Berry and Kitty Wilde ( @shitsgonnagetwilde )
Notes: As planned, Kitty and Rachel get together after school on Monday afternoon and practice their little act for Quinn, a bit too well, maybe?
Rachel was aware that suggesting she and Kitty start up a fake relationship was a little bit crazy and kind of playing with a small fire, but she genuinely like Kitty despite her rough exterior -- she supposed she had a thing for those who had hard outsides and soft insides. She clearly has a type when it comes to people she likes - and she wanted to help her. She knew what it was like to be in love with Quinn and to lose her time and time again and she could see how much Kitty felt for her just by the tension in the air between the two blondes. So, with the best of intentions, Rachel thought this to be the best idea and she was actually a little bit excited at the prospect of hanging out with the tiny blonde and at least getting the confirmation that Kitty liked her -- as a friend -- so she could tell her she told her so.
As planned, when the final school bell rang and everyone began to clear out, Rachel made her way to the auditorium to meet up with Kitty, having found the sheet music for both songs the girls had discussed previously, figuring they could settle on whichever one felt better to them when they sang.
Kitty didn't like making eye contact in the hallways - the only reason she did so was to establish dominance among the freshman class, but for the most part, Kitty focused her attention on the feet of the person in front of her, or the passing lockers, or anything that wasn't a person, really. So when the final bell rang, and Kitty knew she had to go and meet Rachel as promised, the blonde took a deep breath and made her way through the halls, challenging anybody to test her already pissy mood as she rounded the corner to the auditorium. Ducking inside - without the watchful eye of Sue or any of the Cheerios - Kitty stood in the shadows for a moment as she watched Rachel on stage. She was still wary about people helping her - what did Rachel want? "I'm here." She deadpanned after a moment, stepping out from one of the wings with her arms folded across her chest.
When Rachel heard the young blonde's voice, she turned towards the direction it was coming from and her face lit up with a bright smile. "Oh, good! You came!" She clapped, before walking closer to her. "I admit I was a little worried you might stand me up but, I'm glad that you made it." She said genuinely, noting the other's demeanor. She knew Kitty was very closed off and she knew that it must've stemmed from events that occurred in her lifetime and that's why Rachel had the patience she did for people like Kitty. She knew they weren't mean just to be mean, it came from somewhere. "I took the liberty of getting the sheet music for both songs, I thought whichever one you felt most comfortable with is the one we'd go with." She explained, offering the papers to the girl.
Kitty was a little caught off guard by Rachel's enthusiasm - though she should've been used to it by now. "Yeah." She sucked on her teeth for a moment, rocking on her heels before dumping her backpack onto the ground and making her way over to the piano to join Rachel. "Stand you up?" Kitty smirked slightly, "I thought this was a fake date." She chuckled. Eyes flickering over the sheet music, Kitty nodded absently; her and Rachel never really talked about the situation in person, but it wasn't too big of a deal. "Cool," she nodded, fingers running over the paper lightly. "Which one do you think will make Sam cry?" She wondered aloud.
Rachel raised her eyebrows as the shorter teased her, before rolling her eyes with a smile. "It is a fake date," She giggled. "Just be careful not to really fall for me her." She nudged her friend, taking a page from their previous conversations to tease her right back. As they both glanced down at the sheet music, Rachel considered the question briefly before shrugging. "I think him knowing you want to kill him is enough to make him cry-- but either one is pretty good." Her eyes moved to Kitty as the girl looked at the paper. "Hey, I'm...really sorry about that whole situation." She offered quietly even though they were the only ones in the room, knowing that feelings weren't the teenager's best subject.
Kitty nodded with a small smile, "Uh huh," before spreading the music out before her and examining the notes. "Don't give me any ideas," Kitty smiled, peering at Rachel out of the corner of her eye, joking, obviously. When the brunette, however, began to reach out, Kitty's breath caught in her throat for a moment. She'd opened up to a lot of people in the past few weeks and was quickly learning that that wasn't the best way to go. "...It's whatever," she shrugged, voice getting quiet. "I'm over it." Obviously not, considering she was debating which song would make both blondes realize that Kitty wasn't somebody you wanted to cross.
Rachel nibbled on her bottom lip, nodding as Kitty claimed to be over it. She got the message loud and clear that she probably shouldn't press her further but Rachel wasn't exactly one to give up easily. "Well, good, I'm glad you're over it." She gave a stern nod, pursing her lips together before her face softened again, voice softer. "But just in case you ever aren't over it...I'm still here." Rachel offered once more before a smile played on her lips, chuckling softly as she took her copy of sheet music to the Pink song first, deciding they could give it a try first and then the Taylor Swift song next. "You know, since you're so over it-- that must mean this 'fake' dating thing isn't so fake, huh? You're just trying to get closer to me, aren't you, Kitty Cat?" She teased the blonde once more with a wink and a nudge.
Kitty was a little taken aback by the use of the nickname - though she knew Rachel was getting accustomed to using it. "If I didn't know you better, Rachel, I'd think you'd want me to flirt back." She smiled, insinuating the thought that Rachel had been flirting in the first place. "Better not let pre-lipo ken catch wind of your lady crush - I tend to make boys angry when I steal their women..." She muttered to herself, eyes only momentarily flicking to Rachel as she didn't comment on her offers to talk.
Rachel giggled as she fiddled with the paper in front of her, looking at it before looking at Kitty, placing her hand on the shorter's shoulder. "Of course I want you to flirt with me, Kitty." She said, raising her eyebrows, tilting her head. "We should flirt with each other-- y'know, get used to it so we can do it at school. In front of Q." She clarified, nodding her head before shaking it at the blonde's statement. "Hunter isn't worried-- I told him not to worry about you and I. Plus, he likes you, too. He wouldn't get angry at you." She noted that Kitty had sidestepped her offer to talk and she decided not to press anymore-- she had put it out there and Kitty knew she was there if she needed her.
"I don't know," the blonde mused in teasing, chewing on the inside of her cheek in mock thought, "I've done a little bit more than make a girl blush, Berry, you sure that's something you want to get tangled up in?" The blonde quipped with a raised brow - Rachel had wanted to flirt, she'd flirt. Kitty was good at that, almost like second nature. A gift she'd been born with, more like. Her smile faltered a little at the mention of Quinn and she'd remembered that that's what this was all about. Taking a deep breath she nodded, sitting down at the piano. "He's alright too, I guess." She admitted with a small shrug, thinking about all the nice offers he'd made to help her feel better - not that she'd ever trust a warbler again.
Rachel raised her eyebrows as the tiny blonde accepted her flirting challenge, a smile spreading across her face. "That's some big talk for someone so tiny." She teased, crinkling her nose, giggling softly. "I dunno, Kitty, I'm not awful at flirting either--" A shrug tugged at one of her shoulders. "Maybe you're the one who should be careful here. By the end of this you'll be wanting me and not her." Biting on her lip, Rachel smiled a little more when Kitty commented on Hunter. "He really is great-- he's not like the other Warblers." She offered offhandedly, not pressing that subject too much either-- she'd handle one battle at a time. Walking over closer to the blonde as she sat, she could tell the mention of Quinn had made the girl's smile falter before and she didn't want that. This was supposed to make Kitty feel better, less alone. "C'mon." She reached for the shorter's hand to pull her back up. "Just..come sing with me-- we'll sing Pink first and if it's not a fit we'll do the other one. I wanna make you feel better, not worse."
Kitty shrugged lightly in acceptance, looking at Rachel skeptically. "Who say's I don't already want you?" She asked, head cocked with interest as her grin grew to her ears. She was kidding of course, but there was nothing like seeing people confused or surprised. He's not like the other Warblers, what did that even mean? She was sure he was like every other guy ever - maybe Rachel would realize soon enough, but as she was realizing, it wasn't her place to judge people's partners. When Rachel offered her hand, Kitty looked at it for a moment, before tentatively reaching out and taking it, being lifted as Rachel led her to the center of the stage. "...Fine. But I want your hands where I can see them, Hobbit." She commented with a smile, removing her hand from Rachel's as they faced one another.
When Kitty asked who said she didn't want her already, Rachel's face was the one that faltered a little this time- unsure what to think of that comment even though she'd started this flirting war with the younger Cheerio. When Kitty grinned, so did she, chuckling softly. "Okay, so maybe I should step up my game, here." Once they were standing center stage and they faced each other, Rachel raised her eyebrows again and she giggled. "Ditto, Kitty Cat. Don't get handsy, now." She crinkled her nose cutely once more before she cleared her throat. "Shall we? You start us off, Miss."
Kitty suddenly felt nervous - she'd sang before, in Glee Club, in front of people. But this time, Rachel was by herself, and she suddenly felt like she was being watched like a hawk. Sure, she had talent and could dance and look cute while she did it, but Rachel's voice was something else entirely, and Kitty felt intimidated a little bit at the prospect of singing for her. Clearing her throat, the blonde tried her best to look out into the audience instead, the spot light blinding her a little as she took a deep breath. "Like Leo in The Revenant, Abel in that Bible bit revenge is sweet, isn't it? Really, really hope for it I know that it won't fix a thing a song like this that I could sing for you," she began to sing, looking to Rachel and waiting for her to come in with the harmony. "All the feels you make me do a nightmare fuckin' comin' true I wish I was a lawyer, I would sue you sue you, take your dog, take your house take your shoes, take your heart," the blonde paused before looking at Rachel, giggling, "Now here comes the singing part,"
Rachel encouraged Kitty to take the spotlight as she began to sing. Crossing her arms as she observed the blonde, smiling to herself as she was impressed. She wondered why they didn't let Kitty sing more often in glee club. When it came time for Rachel to join in, she smiled at Kitty as the other giggled, coming in with her smooth sounding harmonies before the song picked up. "I'm daydreaming, let me count the ways, How I'll get you, or how I'll make you pay. Babe, I'm hurting and now you'll feel the same-- that's my plan, that's my plan, that's my plan" Rachel took Kitty's hand again and spun her around with as she continued to sing with her friend. "We could do revenge, revenge, revenge, revenge. Together, together, together. We could take revenge, revenge, revenge. Revenge is sweet."
Kitty couldn't help smiling when she sung - even when she was in the sourest of moods, singing gave her a nice piece of mind. Giggling as the brunette spun her around, Kitty sang in tune with her and actually felt good for a change; maybe it was the singing, or that Rachel was being so nice and it was nice to just have someone being...nice. It always felt like people wanted something. Rachel seemed to just want to be there for her; it was weird. "Now here's where girlfriends come in hand, especially those that understand, crime's a crime, but listen, man, really cannot give a damn. We've all been through this kind of thing say the word, we make it sting for him." Kitty sang out, eyes focused on Rachel as she danced with her, "He can't just get away with it, eye for eye, you piece of shit! You treat us like a garbage pit, let me at him!" The blonde snarled lightly, Sam's face flashing in her mind as she thought about how badly she just wanted to punch him, but Rachel's "Wait for it, wait for it," in her ear slightly calming her. "Here's that singin' part again."
Rachel smiled wider as Kitty danced with her easily, happy that the other seemingly let her guard down ever so slightly to enjoy singing with Rachel. It made her feel good to know she could get Kitty to do this-- to let loose a little and let some of her frustrations out. As Rachel sang through her part of the song again, leading up to where the blonde would pick up again, she spun the smaller around again before holding her hand long enough to spin herself around, giggling softly-- enjoying herself as well.
Kitty faded out of the song, swallowing a little bit before the rap had began and stopping completely. "We can, um," she cleared her throat, "we can try the other one, if you want." She offered, her heart beating a little fast from the adrenaline as she tried not to look too happy for her own sake.
Rachel raised her eyebrows when the song came to a stop and Kitty cleared her throat, the smile still on her face, a little winded from their dancing. "I-I think this one might do perfectly." She grinned, stepping closer and touching Kitty's arm. "You should've seen yourself singing that-- it was amazing." Rachel encouraged, nodding her head. Noticing the look on the blonde's face, nibbling on her lip. "Are...you okay?"
Kitty nodded in agreement, sweeping a piece of hair behind her ear as she looked down at the sheet music absently. When she felt Rachel's fingers on her arm, Kitty flinched, but didn't brush her away. Her compliments flooded through her ears like a wild fire, and she blushed slightly, not meeting Rachel's gaze. "Thank you," she replied quietly, a hint of a smile on her lips. "I, um..." Looking up at Rachel, she grimaced, "Just got to thinking, I guess."
Rachel gauged Kitty's body language carefully, she could see that the young lady had been letting herself have a good time with Rachel and she didn't want to let the brunette know it. She thought it was cute, really cute. When the other answered her question about if she was okay or not, she raised her eyebrows curiously. "Thinking about what?" She asked, taking a breath to catch it from their dancing before.
Kitty was silent for a moment after the question, eyes flickering over the notes in an attempt to not have to have this conversation. But Rachel was just being nice- Kitty had to learn to understand that not everybody was out to hurt her. "Everything. I don't know." She mused with a small shrug, glancing at the brunette with a sad smile. "...How am I supposed to stop being angry?" She asked, as if she expected Rachel to have the answer.
Rachel took a step closer to her friend, moving her arm to place a comforting hand on the smaller's back. When Kitty looked at her and their eyes met, Rachel's insides sank with how sad the younger looked. She wanted to help her so much more than she could, she was doing the best that she knew how and she only hoped it would work in their favor in the end and she could see Kitty happy. "You don't." She said, matter-of-fact. "You let yourself be angry, you feel that angry and channel it into something-- like singing, or dancing-- or art, whatever you're into." Rachel shrugged. "Eventually you will feel it less and you'll be happy one day and not feel it at all." She offered her advice, knowing it wasn't exactly great. "But for now, you're allowed to be angry. And when you don't want to be angry-- we'll do something like this. We'll focus on something else-- you looked happy just a few moments ago because you weren't really thinking about it. You were having fun with me-- don't think I didn't see that." The brunette nudged her, a smirk pulling at her lips. "I think you like me just a little bit."
Kitty rolled her eyes, half in amusement. As Rachel's chocolate eyes gazed into her own pale blue ones, Kitty cleared her throat, slightly in discomfort. She couldn't help it - talking about any of this, any of these feelings, emotions, was just another sign that it was all happening; Kitty hated it. "Okay, I like you a little bit - but not like that." She stressed with a grin. Not that there was anything wrong with Rachel - she was just too short for Kitty. Actually, Kitty would figure herself pretty lucky if she dated somebody like Rachel; she seemed sweet and caring, at least. Nobody else had reached out to Kitty like Rachel had. It warmed the blonde's ice cold heart a little bit, but she was still afraid of letting people back into her head. "We could hang out for real some day, if you wanted to. And no, I'm not asking you on a date." Kitty offered, looking at Rachel with a raised brow in questioning. "I guess you could bring the Warbler...if he doesn't mind me stealing his woman right from under his nose." She smirked, crossing her arms.
Rachel giggled when Kitty stressed that she wasn't romantically interested in Rachel. She didn't mind, she was happy in her relationship and the blonde was a bit too young for her, she figured. "I know, I know." She reassured Kitty, chuckling. "At least not yet, anyway." She winked before taking a breath before going back over to the piano, placing the sheet music down to give the other a little space. "I mean, we have to be careful with this fake-relationship. Can't be catching real feelings for me now." She teased as she turned to face Kitty again, smiling at her. "Sounds an awful lot like a date to me." She teased once again, finding the dynamic between the two of them so far to be fun. Both teasing and yet never quite knowing how much teasing it was at the same time. It almost felt like playing with a small fire but Rachel wasn't too worried. "Oh yeah? You'd let me bring Hunter? I know how you feel about the Warblers...that's kind of a big step." At the blonde's smirk, Rachel laughed again. "I think that he wouldn't mind you stealing me from him too much since you're so cute, Kitty Cat." Rachel flirted with a nose crinkle.
Kitty tried her best not to appear to vulnerable in the moment, holding back a large smile as Rachel sat down at the piano, "You're pretty confident for somebody who probably has to climb up on the counter to reach a glass," Kitty teased, knowing full well that she was that type of person. "I think you just wish it was an actual date, Berry. The imagination's a very useful thing." The cheerleader shot back gently, nails drumming against the top of the piano in thought. She'd never had this type of friendship before; if she could call it that, where they constantly just teased each other back forth and had it not mean anything. It was relaxing. It built Kitty's confidence a little bit. "Well, yeah, he's not like, you know...I mean with a third party at least no one will get hurt, mainly him."
Rachel let out a sigh of contented happiness as Kitty teased her right back. She seemingly enjoyed every moment of their banter and it amused her greatly, happy that the young Cheerio was willing to let her in enough to have at least this kind of friendship with her. Rachel genuinely liked Kitty and wanted nothing more than to at least be her friend. "I'm sure he would love it, honestly. I know he likes you, too, like I've mentioned before." The brunette shrugged. "He was all on board when I suggested our relationship to him. I think he sees the good I see in you, too." Rachel said as she looked at Kitty with a genuine expression.
Kitty shook her head, "See? I told you - he'd love the idea of it. He's a guy. It's only natural." She shrugged casually, reaching back around her head to tighten the blonde ponytail that rested there. When Rachel suggested that she saw good within Kitty, the blonde faltered for a moment. It was hard for her to see the good in herself; let alone believe that other people saw it in her. "A lot of people have seen the good in me - all they've done is take it." She admitted bluntly, hands folding atop the piano with a deep swallow. She was afraid that she was veering into personal territory, but didn't know how to steer it in a different direction at this point.
At Kitty's last statement, Rachel's face fell and she suddenly felt more for the girl. She felt sad that she was so young and everyone had already hurt her so much that she had such a hard exterior, she seemed so...jaded. It was heartbreaking to see. Rachel silently declared that she would do whatever it took to help Kitty begin to have more faith in people-- to see the good in herself and others. Kitty deserved to see the good in herself, she wasn't nearly old enough to feel that way about herself or the world. She understood, though. She understood that Kitty had been burned many, many times and it was absolutely understandable why she felt the way she did. Nibbling on her lip, Rachel kept her gaze on Kitty, her voice gentle and sincere. "Kitty...I'm-I'm sorry that so many people have hurt you." Reaching out carefully, she placed her hand on top of the blonde's. "I know you don't exactly trust me yet but...I truly do like you and I don't...I wont hurt you like they did. I'll show you that, okay?" She promised, biting her lip again and nodding her head.
Kitty froze a little when Rachel's hand came to rest atop her own, eyes flickering to the sight in uncertainty, but not pulling away. Rachel didn't really know anything about her; other than what had happened with Quinn, and even then Kitty hadn't given up too much information. But here the brunette was, offering her service and friendship as if her and Kitty had been friends for years. Staying silent for a few moments, Kitty sighed deeply before looking at Rachel with sad eyes. "I'm not hurt," she lied, shaking her head with a sad chuckle, "I just-...I'm trying. Somethings pulling me back. But I'm trying." The blonde admitted with a tentative sigh, unsure of what to do with her hand underneath Rachel's.
Rachel realized then that she might be a little too touchy-feeling for Kitty's liking and she cursed herself, pressing her lips together before smiling a little and giving the blonde's hand a gently pat before taking her hand away. "Sorry, I'm...a touchy person." She apologized, nodding her head. "I see that you're trying and I think that it's great." The brunette agreed. "I know that I don't know everything-- or even that much about you. But I know a good person when I see one. Just ask Hunter-- I have this thing where I'm really good at reading people and seeing right through them. Especially if I feel connected to them in some way."
Kitty smirked, "Maybe you just like touching me," she suggested with a lilt, a glint of mischief in her eyes. It was her way of deflecting and making herself more comfortable in the situation. Things were silent for a moment as Kitty watched Rachel's facial expressions and checked her eyes for deception - finding none, Kitty offered Rachel a small smile. "Some way, huh? Knew you had it bad for me, Berry."
Rachel let out a laugh at Kitty's teasing, grinning at the other before standing up from the piano, getting closer to Kitty, mirroring the mischief in her eyes. "Trust me, Kitty Cat, if I had it bad for you- you'd know it." Her brown eyes glanced to Kitty's lips before they went back to the other's blue eyes, letting a tag bit of tension build. A smirk pulled at the corner of her mouth, showing Kitty that she could absolutely keep up with her game of mischievous flirtation.
Kitty’s breath hitched a little bit when Rachel stood and moved closer to her, but didn't want to make it obvious as she cleared her throat, eyes challenging Rachel. The pet name sent a chill down her spine, she wasn't sure if she liked it or not, but Kitty just brushed it off, biting down on her lip in amusement. "Not bad, Hobbit." She breathed, before shrugging lightly, "what would I have to do to get you to admit it, huh?"
Rachel giggled softly when Kitty bit her lip, giving a slight shrug before reaching to sweep that same piece of hair from before back behind the younger's ear before biting her own lip. "Mm, I dunno. I think you being your cute self might be enough for me to eventually admit it." She gave a shrug and crinkled her nose. Licking her lips, the taller let out a breathy giggle, her cheeks flushing pink as she shook her head. Rachel knew they were both teasing, sure, but something about being so close to the blonde made her stomach give a little twist.
Her mouth fell open a little in surprise when Rachel swept a stray strand of hair behind her ear, the brush of the diva's fingertips on her skin sending a jolt through her. Eyes widening, Kitty gazed back at Rachel, unsure what to do for a moment. "For somebody who doesn't have any interest in me, you sure are touching me a lot." She pointed out knowingly, referring to what had just happened, and Rachel's tendency to hold Kitty's hand. She didn't mind, but it was a little surprising - Rachel had a lot of guts for somebody who was the size of a goblin and had a boyfriend.
Rachel laughed softly, shaking her head again to pull herself out the flirtatious moment with Kitty. "C'mon, you're supposed to be my girlfriend now, right? I'm affectionate with my significant others." She played off the flirting and the touching with with a chuckle, stepping back to give them an appropriate amount of space now. "Or do I, like, need to officially ask you? Because I can." She teased with a smile.
Kitty felt herself breathe finally when Rachel stepped away, inhaling slowly before grimacing slightly at the older girl. Admittedly, she liked hanging out with her. Rachel understood when she did and didn't want to talk, and didn't pressure her to talk about anything. She made her forget a little. "That depends," Kitty shook her head nonchalantly, "is there a big proposal involved?"
Rachel raised her eyebrows, smiling at the shorter before shrugging once again. "There could be depending on how cheesy you want it." Rachel ran her fingers through her brown locks, tossing it over her shoulder. "I don't want to do something that will make you really uncomfortable so I won't do it publicly if you would rather me not-- but I for sure can give you a mildly cheesy proposal right here and now." She offered, the smile still on her face.
Kitty didn't need anything like that from Rachel - but seeing her try was funny enough for her, and in all honesty - if nobody else saw, what could it hurt? "...If you want to." She suggested lightly, not wanting to push it. "-I can't guarantee I'll say yes, though." She chuckled in jest, moving around the piano to take a seat on the bench.
Rachel grinned at the other when she suggested she do it if she really wanted to, giggling when she couldn't promise she'd say yes. Their dynamic was definitely an interesting one and Rachel didn't hate it at all. "Okay," She nodded once before coming closer to sit on the bench next to Kitty, that feeling in her stomach from before twisting slightly as she took the blonde's hand in hers, bringing it to her chest to hold it there. "Kitty, I think you are one of the sweetest girls I have ever met. Sure, you're a little spicy-- but I see the sweetness in there somewhere. You're beautiful and I love spending time with you. Now, would you do me the honor of being my fake-girlfriend?" She said, her voice just loud enough for the other to hear, her brown eyes gazing into the girl's blue ones. She let the tension between them grow a little bit before she bit her lip, giggling. "Or if that doesn't work-- then I'll also give you this-" A grin pulled at her lips and she shook her head. "Baby, I'm not a photographer but I can picture you and I together." She dropped the cheesy pick up line teasingly, giggling softly.
Kitty couldn't help the blush that started to spread furiously throughout her entire body as Rachel took her hand and pressed it against the girl's chest, eyes immediately flickering away from Rachel, but not being able to tear her hand away. She could feel the brunette's heartbeat beneath her palm, soft and a little quick. The pick up line caused a laugh to tumble from her throat, but mostly out of her nerves. "I mean -...yeah, whatever..." She mumbled, almost embarrassed, as she tried to hide her reddening cheeks before she was finally able to meet her gaze again. "How many times have you practiced that in the mirror hoping I'd say yes, hm?" She questioned, grateful that it was just the two of them.
Rachel couldn't help but grin widely at Kitty laughed, watching her cheeks blush. She really was very cute. "You said yes?" She let go of the other's hand to clap her own. "She said yes!" She hollered at the empty auditorium, giggling as she threw her arms around her friend and brought her into a hug. "I knew it, you love me." Rachel gave her a squeeze before letting her go and standing up from the piano bench. "Now that we're official I think the first thing we should definitely do is sing the song in glee-- it'll at least make Sam and Quinn tilt their heads." She nodded, planning out their next step in her head. "Now, like I said-- I will follow your lead with how out we are in public and at school because I know I was outed but I don't want to do the same to you until you're ready.."
Kitty was surprised when Rachel took her in her arms, not exactly hugging her back, but not pushing her away, either. It was nice to have some human contact - she hadn't had any since she and Quinn had...well, anyway, it was comforting. "Let's take it easy with all those words you're throwing around," she chuckled with a shake of her head, taking a reasonable step back when Rachel let go of her. Nodding in agreement as Rachel went on, talking about glee, she shifted a little bit in her seat on the bench, sighing. No, she wasn't ready to come out; it had taken her that long to admit it to herself, who knew how much longer it would take her to admit it to everybody else. "Right, I, um-...yeah, we can sing it." She agreed hurriedly.
Rachel nodded when Kitty agreed still to sing with her, knowing that alone would make Quinn squirm at least a little bit. "Great. I think it's a really great place to start this." She said with another nod. "And if you talk to Quinn and ever want to throw my name around of if you want to tell her that we went out or are hanging out. Just keep me updated so I can keep the story going, okay?" She offered, shrugging a little. "I want to help you in any way that I can. I just...I want to see you happy."
Talking to Quinn in general was a stretch for Kitty, but she'd do it if it made her jealous the way Rachel was saying it would. "...thanks, Rachel." She offered quietly, taking a deep breath before standing up. "I should -...I have to go." The blonde said hurriedly, offering Rachel a small smile in thanks. "Thanks again. For you know...everything. Try not to think about me too much when I'm gone." She smirked, standing before Rachel before ever so slightly pressing her lips against Rachel's cheek; pulling away just as fast.
Rachel raised her eyebrows once more when Kitty announced that she should be leaving, smiling and giving a nod. "Of-of course." She checked the time, noting that they'd been there for quite a while with their flirting shenanigans. When Kitty thanked her, a sweet smile pulled at Rachel's lips and she shook her head. "You're welcome, don't even mention it. I want to be here for you." She reiterated before giggling at the shorter's words. "I'll do my best-" When Kitty leaned in to kiss Rachel's cheek, the brunette's breath caught in her throat a little and her cheeks flushed with color and warmth. Biting her lip to keep from grinning stupidly, the other giggled bashfully. "Maybe I was touchy feely before-- but you're the one that just kissed me, Kitty Cat." She teased, grinning at the shorter, crinkling her nose. "Try not to think about me too much, beautiful." She tapped the blonde's nose with her finger.
Kitty reached down to grab the bag she'd come with, and when she stood back up, meeting Rachel eye to eye, the brunette's finger tapped her nose gently and Kitty became cross eyed for a moment, looking down at the digit as it lingered for a second before Rachel was just there, smiling at her. "I-..." Hesitating, Kitty took a deep breath, before nodding once. "Right. Well - I'll try to keep my hands where you can see them in Glee; no promises, though." The blonde winked, before stepping past Rachel. Sending her one more glance over her shoulder, Kitty left the auditorium, before painting her stoic expression back on as she stepped out into the hall.
These two are the best, they really are.
