Okay actually on second thought. My prediction is that Himeko will have a near-death experience but ultimately survive. With the abundance of fandom ‘jokes’ about her dying due the deaths of her other selves in the greater Honkai universe, I think Hoyo is going to play on those expectations but subvert them. The thing with Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Gakuen is that HI3 was something like a reboot even though the official explanation is that they take place in alternate universes and Honkai Gakuen is technically still ongoing. Honkai Star Rail is a different beast entirely, and Hoyo is fully aware that a solid portion of their playerbase are people who came from their past titles; I think they’re going to use the expectations they know we have to mess with us, but I also think it would be more narratively satisfying in the greater meta for this Himeko to survive.
