🍎🌾Stuffed Apples for Mabon🌾🍎
Happy Mabon my greenies! I’m so happy to bring this recipe for you to enjoy during this festive time. Like all my recipes, these can be used with or without a chant, you can create your own, or if you’re not a practitioner. I want to bring joy and comfort for this time of year. This is a recipe I used last year and decided to post it for y’all. I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients
5 Apples (I use honeycrisp)
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch ground nutmeg
Dash of vanilla
For Topping
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup old fashioned oats
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch sea salt
3 tbsp unsalted butter
Directions
First cut off the tops of the apples and core them. Make sure you spoon out the insides and save them. (Also save all peels to use as offerings or compost) Use the inside of the apple and cut into small 1/4 inch chunks.
Mix together the apple chunks, cornstarch, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla. Put into the apple and make sure you leave a little space for the crumble topping. While mixing these ingredients, think on all you’re thankful for and fill the apples with love and hope.
Cut up the butter into little pieces and put some inside the apple. Then mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt and place on top of the apple. While mixing, you can say the chant below or your own. Use the rest of the butter to sprinkle on top of the apples.
Preheat ovan at 375 degrees F and place apples onto a covered baking sheet. Cover the tops of the apples with foil and bake for 15 min and the uncover and bake for 20. Wait at least 10 minutes before eating and enjoy with some ice cream.
Chant: While fog may cast in front of my eyes, the breeze of fall trails with browning leaves. A warm hand on my back and wisp of hair, let my future shine. Let my love rejoice and my mind rest with ease. My life, my hope, my dream.
Once again my lovelies, happy Mabon to you and your loved ones. I hope that with the shifting of seasons, brings change to our society.
With all my love,
Kenzie

What the Earth Needs....
The Earth needs more people who raise and love farm animals without killing them, who are kind to every living being, who befriend insects instead of walking on them, who celebrate every season, who smell the flowers as they bloom in Spring, who take care of their garden in Summer and soak up the sun, who harvest their crops in Autumn and collect fallen colored leaves and who breathe in the cool, crisp air in Winter as they stick their tongues out to catch snowflakes. The Earth needs more people who run freely in the fields and meadows, laughing their lungs out, who spoil and kiss their household pets throughout the day, try as hard as they can to save the bees, who hug old, ancient trees, who listen to the howls of the wind and the sound of the rain, who wake up at the crack of dawn to birds harmonizing and sometimes to absolute silence.
The Earth needs more people who cook for their loved ones to make them happy and without wanting anything in return, people who walk barefoot in the forest, feeling the earth, dirt and grass on their skin, who plunge into the salty ocean or who put their toes in a lake, a creek or a river, admiring and taking in the beauty of it all, who hang their clothes outside to dry in the natural fresh air and who sing and talk to their plants every chance they get.
The Earth needs more kind people who absolutely adore every aspect of nature and who help take care of it and sustain it. Credits: my own thoughts
