I'm super glad I wasn't the only one wondering that!! His collection was supposed to be a "safe place" and that obviously didn't turn out well at all...

I'm mainly worried that the Ether was above ground when that happened and might have broken open, or that an unsuspecting looter might steal it from the rubble and unleash it or hide it away not knowing what it is.

I hope The Collector was wise enough to lock it up in an underground vault or something.
