The True Lies one is loosely based on a movie (with some twists), and is from (and for, if it ever gets written, lol) a lovely friend of mine aka @DCLovesDestiel who runs the NICEST Destiel group on FB (shoutout ~Destiel OTP~!!)
Cas is a secret agent named Dmitri Krushnic, and Dean is his nurse husband, who thinks Cas is just a tax accountant. Dean thinks Cas doesn't really want him anymore, but Cas is just super busy with a case. When Dean gets accidentally involved, chaos ensues!
Something, something... a dangerous toxin created in the research lab is meant for bio-warfare. Dean stumbles upon what it actually does when one of the creators is accidentally infected and comes to the ER for help. The creator is ready to flip and has already called the CIA. Dean’s patient gets murdered by Cas’ partner to keep him quiet and Dean walks in as it happens. Cas’ co-workers come to do “clean-up”. Their instructions are to take Dean out too, since he knows too much. They bring him somewhere to kill him and Cas walks in, since he’s the one assigned to do said clean-up (not knowing it’s Dean). Without hesitation, Cas shoots his team members instead and takes off with Dean, then they have to unravel the case together while the CIA is chasing them and the dude creating the toxin is trying to put his bio-warfare plan into motion.
I’m a little hesitant to write this one now, because the themes in it are VERY similar to @kitmistry‘s AMAZING fic, “Stumble and Fall” (https://archiveofourown.org/works/25481824), which I LOVEDDDDD. From the action to the romance, the pacing and the style is all just... *chef’s kiss*. Highly recommend if this kind of fic is something you like (or you just like good fics, lol). I just know my brain would subconsciously try to jack her skills, bahaha.
And the other one, Breakfast at Castiel’s, was for that Reddit-based prompt that was going around about the guy who keeps going to Waffle House, seemingly to pick a fight with the guy who is intentionally fucking up his eggs.
My notes:
Cook Castiel/Customer Dean
Dean comes to the waffle house with Lisa regularly. Has some kind of emotional attachment to the WH/eggs from childhood or something. Cas overcooks his eggs by accident, then continues to do so, thinking he’s being funny, not realizing Dean is actually upset about it until Dean throws the eggs at him and calls him a douchebag.
Also a sassy asshole who is not socially aware enough to realize he’s pissing someone off with his jokes until there’s egg on his shirt... They fight.
Dean leaves but keeps coming back, and Castiel can’t decide what Dean’s deal is, so he starts thinking up new ways to fuck with Dean’s eggs and they keep getting into fights about it.
Cas is possibly aware of his customer's growing pissed-off-ness but gives no shits. Grouchy, smitey asshole whose philosophy is, “you will eat the eggs I cook you the way I cook them, and you will thank me for the privilege.”
Except the fights are getting… more and more intense. And maybe Cas slams Dean over a table at one point and Dean feels he’s hard? Cas runs off, Dean follows him out back.
They have angry sex by the dumpster, still yelling at each other about eggs as they get it on.
Dean's going to be like great, now every time I smell bacon I get an erection.
