she didn’t take long to figure out the other person in her two-person heist. she couldn’t ask her brother jacques, because although he was tall and could hide himself anywhere, which would certainly come in handy, he had terrible taste in literature and was just too much of a brother to take with her anywhere. also, she had repeatedly told him not to get taller than her, and he insisted on doing that anyway, which kit found completely unforgivable. no, she wouldn’t take jacques. she would take her younger brother lemony. lemony was much smaller, so although he was even better at hiding he was also easier to lose, and he asked a lot more questions than jacques, but he liked good books and he looked up to her and kit just wouldn’t be able to forgive herself if she left him behind. she did everything with lemony, and she trusted him. there was no way she couldn’t include him in the heist.

How I feel about this character: I feel so bad for him, you know? I like to joke about him because of the way he is in the Netflix show or because of the cow disguise, but I also feel bad for him.  Based on what is known about him from canon, I see him as someone who was forced to start being responsible for other people (his siblings, especially L) and many other things at a very young age, and I think that must have been a great weight upon his shoulders which he probably hadn’t ever opened up about much. And then there’s the whole deal with serving a flawed organization so faithfully for many years, and then the terrible death. Poor guy couldn’t even catch a break. 

All the people I ship romantically with this character: JEROME, Frank, possibly Olivia but not in the Netflix version

My non-romantic OTP for this character: the Snicket siblings 4ever

My unpopular opinion about this character: apparently it has become popular to paint him as a villain in Quigley’s story? I think he was a misguided person who tried to do his best based on what he’s been taught throughout his whole life. I do not applaud him for leaving Quigley alone, but I believe he was going to come back for him, and would have come, hadn’t it been for Olaf and Esme. As to him most probably planning to recruit Quigley - well, I don’t condone that either but, like I’ve said, it’s the only kind of life he must have known. 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: not dying….

favorite thing about them: listen, after everything he went through he could have adopted a grim view of the world and accepted that life is cruel and there’s nothing to be done about that, but he doesn’t! random headcanon: *resists the urge to answer with a nsfw-ish shippy thing* used to look younger than his age for a long time, which annoyed him because he wanted to be Taken Seriously and not as some boy with chubby cheeks 

unpopular opinion: idk now unpopular this is but I (usually) think he actually threw away the Bombinating Beast statue and doesn’t control it or anything

song i associate with them: if anyone makes an ASOUE gifset with the lyrics of Some Nights by Fun., I would probably explode. “My heart is breaking for my sister and the con that she called “love” / But when I look into my nephew’s niece’s eyes, / Man, you wouldn’t believe, the most amazing things, that can come from some terrible nights.” Also Empty Chairs at Empty Tables from Les Mis. Also there’s a song in Russian, Огонь Вавилона (Babylon Fire) by Aquarium, some fragments of which remind me of him A LOT. Maybe I’ll translate the lyrics at some point

I have more thoughts on the ladies than on the guys because I find ladies more interesting!

E. Snicket has brown eyes and black hair in a bob cut. Thinking about it now, I think she probably doesn’t like her hair getting in the way when she is doing Stuff, so she keeps it short (making a nice parallel with her possible granddaughter). Not very short but not tall either. She dresses in a more “sp*rty” way for missions, and fancy but not over the top for social occasions. 

Some pics with the general vibe that I bookmarked for a possible edit:

Jacob has green eyes, light brown hair, and no facial hair because no Snickets have facial hair in this house. E probably chooses all his clothes.

The Woman is pretty tall, taller than The Man and Theodora. Her hair is naturally black, not sure if I imagine it gray by ASOUE time (also I never imagined it particularly long or big, she is the woman with hair, not the woman with a lot of hair), and her eyes are blue (like Bertrand’s). She has a resting bitch face, she had it even before becoming evil but it helps with the whole evil aura thing later. She dresses in that business formal style that lawyers and other people who work with law do. I still haven’t found a face claim or picture that does justice to how I imagine her.

The Man started growing his beard at a young age, probably to make himself look older, and got bald at a relatively young age too because of genetics. I imagine him having darker skin.

The Man and The Woman don’t coordinate their outfits but they often match anyway.

Theodora is ginger. I gave her two semi OC brothers who also have the same natural hair, but only one keeps it long while the other shaves it. The boys are identical twins. 

Some possible Theodora looks in different races:

Ishmael probably looks fine without his shipwrecked look from TE, which he keeps on purpose to look older and wiser.

I like what Netflix did with Olaf’s father, but I think I like better the unibrow coming from his mother. I think it’s probably thanks to someone’s fanart of her.

Bonus: Like Lemony, Armstrong Feint has an unremarkable face, that sort of face that you can forget very easily. And no this didn’t come from my crack theory of them being father and son, it is just a parallel that comes from the fact that both of them hide their faces.
