So I very recently changed my profile picture to this image, and I felt like I'd give an explanation
This is a picture of myself from a little under 2 years ago. I was at a foam rave, freezing because all of my clothes got wet and it was only about 40°F outside. It was actually warmer to be shirtless than to have a sopping wet shirt on (big surprise)
But this was also one of the last few times that I felt good about myself, and one of the last times that I felt happy.
Pretty soon after this picture was taken, I've been spiraling pretty hard into a deep depression that I haven't been able to pull myself out of.
It was also very soon after this picture that I started this blog. Being able to show people beautiful images, even if the captions with them aren't beautiful, it's helped me immensely. This blog helps me to feel like there may be something beautiful in me and around me that I can share with others.
It's been therapeutic. And I've gotten so many wonderful messages from you guys over the time that I've been running this blog. Even if I don't respond immediately, I want you to know that I appreciate every message. I just don't always have the time and energy to be able to talk, but I really do appreciate messages. I appreciate any form of interaction I get, because it shows me that you're enjoying what I'm sharing
You guys have helped me to feel happy and beautiful again
Thank you 💜
I'm always amazed at people that consume media while simultaneously telling the creators of that media that they don't deserve money for creating it.
Photographers deserve to be paid. Actors deserve to be paid. Painters deserve to be paid. Digital artists deserve to be paid.
People create art because it's their passion, but they need to pay their bills like everyone else. If you feel like artists shouldn't be paid because "they should've chosen another career path" then maybe you should stop consuming art.
Pay your artists. Pay their commissions, pay the amount in their contracts, pay them for their work. They spent years of studying and practicing to make something wonderful. Don't demand their product and expect them to walk away feeling accomplished because you "paid them in experience/ exposure".
If they have a price listed, then you know their listed price. Pay it and move on. Don't haggle with someone's livelihood. They're most likely short-changing themselves in the first place and asking them to go lower is insulting.
Sometimes in life we're given amazing, wonderful, life-altering things. Sometimes it changes our entire perspective, sometimes it just feels like a friend that gives you a shoulder to cry on. These things can feel like the thing you need to continue on. They give your life a purpose that you never knew you needed. Sometimes these amazingly wonderful things make you feel less alone in your empty house, and they fill your lonely thoughts
But these things don't always exist to maintain permanence. Sometimes it exists to make you feel less alone in the moment. Sometimes they offer what you need in a moment of crisis. Sometimes these things exist for the sole purpose of keeping you going for another day, until something else can take over.
Just because these things, or these people, don't maintain permanence in your life doesn't mean that they weren't important while they were there. Some of the most important things in life don't last forever.
In fact, most things in life come to and end before we want them to, but it doesn't make those things bad.
Sometimes relationships weren't meant to be, sometimes friends grow apart, sometimes items of importance get broken and need to be thrown away, sometimes our favorite shows get cancelled.
But just because things aren't the same anymore, it doesn't make those important things in our lives are any less important when they're gone.
Sometimes past relationships will teach you hard lessons going forward. And faded friendships will give you insight for friends going forward.
Everything that you consider important now will still be important in your life's story when you're older. It'll remind you of your lessons, and of your joy. It'll bring you some happiness and wisdom as you continue to navigate through life. These things are important, and their longevity has no influence over their importance.
Today is November 2, 2020, we had our first confirmed case of Covid-19 on January 20. It's been 306 days. Disney World announced its closing on March 12 and shut the gates on March 15, it was closed for 116 days, and it's still open at severely reduced capacity. This was the first time since 9/11 that Disney World has closed. There have only been 7 times in its life that it's closed, and it's never been for an extended period of time
In those 306 days, we have had 9.28 million people contract Covid-19. Also in those 306 days, over 231,000 people have died due to Covid-19.
To put that into perspective, we've been having a 9/11 size catastrophe every 4 days since January 20, 2020.
In my state, we just recently went into phase 3 reopening, which means that all businesses can reopen, like gyms and movie theaters. We're still having exponential numbers of Covid cases.
College campuses are running normally, for the most part. Some of the campuses have hundreds of cases, and some have breached 1000, and they've still refused to shut down. I'm fairly certain my campus is lying about the cases. It's $130 to have a Covid case done on campus, and if you call them with concerns of being sick, they just send you home without testing you. We've had dozens of people in quarantine this semester, but we only have 23 confirmed cases. I live in a metropolitan area, so there's no way that the city can be a Covid hotspot, but the campus has remained largely unaffected. Not only that, but they send us daily emails about how many cases we've had on campus, and on 3 different days, we had a positive test on campus, but the total cumulative cases remained the same.
Do not believe any politician that tells you that this is a hoax, or they tell you that it's no longer a problem. This is still a problem, and it's getting worse.
My school has currently been under a threat of violence for 12 hours now. None of us are allowed to leave our rooms for any reason. It's been anxiety inducing, to say the least. The threat was made because our school has several BLM banners and a mural. They wanted the school to remove the banners and paint over the mural, or some form of violence would happen to the school.
Wish me luck guys. You've all been really amazing in helping me build this blog, and helping me move forward in my dreams of becoming an internet personality. I don't know what the campus is planning to do, whether they're actually going to take the banners down and paint over the mural, or if the threat is even real.
But I appreciate each and every one of you that's supported me, and this blog, and this community. I'll keep you guys updated as things progress, but for now, just know that I'm thankful for all that you've done for me and I care about you all 💜
