This intricate cap, adorned with pearls and gold beads, was first worn on the head of the servant girl Ruth in the 2017 second episode of The White Princess. Charlotte Hope reused the piece as Katharine of Aragon in the 2019 first season of The Spanish Princess.
Guys it’s 4AM as I start writing this so be prepared for a rant lol
So why have I not finished a lot of my older stories?
I start planning out stories in my head and on paper sometimes 2 years before I write the actual meat of the story. This means most of my first posted fanfiction were planned out when I was 11. To this DAY, even though the stories are abandoned or done (some just on years of “hiatus” lol), I get people telling me 11 year old Harry Potter or other such characters would not act that way because they were 11.
Meanwhile, baby me would just be like, “Oh, thank you for the advice!” while inwardly, “I think I know what an 11 year old would think, since an 11 year old wrote out this entire plot.”
Of course, I didn’t tell anyone my age, because I was raised in a time of internet stranger danger. Often people would tell me to rate my stories M or 18+ and I would just cry internally and rate it so I couldn’t read it lol Pretty sure that was a common problem.
The thing I’m leading up to is, I wrote about attraction and sex at 11 years old. Which is a failing of society, I guess, but I wasn’t some creeper adult writing about children. Often I chose characters my age or a year or two older than I was and then eventually aged past them.
Now I have a trail of teen romances I find it very uncomfortable to finish. I’m thinking of aging these assholes up in Anchor (since the actors are all in their 20s anyway, 2 years is not a stretch) so I can bring the plotline to a close. Leaving it hanging is literally killing my inner perfectionist.
Now a large part of my series of romances was me figuring out what the hell sexual attraction was since I have yet to really feel it to this day (aces unite lol), but like a cool bean I post everything on the internet! So this personal development is archived in a million and one places for the world to see and be all, “Huh. They sure did write a lot about teens falling in love.”
At least I kept the craziest stuff to myself, so there’s that.
As it is now, with the exception of Anchor, if the story you’re wondering about has characters who could even arguably be under 18 engaging in Romance of any sort, you can assume I’m too uncomfortable to continue it.
I’m too old now, guys! And possibly so are you!
I also need to continue to purge my fanfiction.net favorites list of the legions of “character older than I was but still underage” dating “my favorite character of that week.”
But that’s another nightmare regarding age in fanfiction lol
Delicate - Riverdale OC, season 2, OC x ? (FC: Josefine Frida Pettersen)
Katherine Smith (”call me Kitty”) has never had a family except for her twin brother, Charles. Abandoned by their mother at birth, the two grew up on the heinous campus of the Sisters of Quiet Mercy. They were always a package deal. So of course no one wanted to adopt them and the twins aged out of the system.
They went their separate ways to find out who they were on their own, with a promise to check in once a week. Just because they needed space didn’t mean they didn’t love each other. Except a month goes by and Kitty hasn’t heard from Charles, no matter when or how often she calls. And one day his phone is answered but the man on the other end of the phone? Not her brother. Not by a long shot.
So now she’s going home - or, where home should have been. Charles’ phone is located in Riverdale and Kitty’s decided that maybe he went to find their mother. She’s never wanted to, but she’ll do anything to find out what happened to her brother. As long as he’s okay, she can weather any storm. Her name is Kitty Smith and she has never been delicate.
