Kiwi Gin
Today (and tomorrow, and Sunday), I will be in the Jean Bouin Stadium for the Paris Sevens, and I’m super thrilled! I will most likely be drinking water (or beer) while I’m there watching exciting, enthralling rugby; but if you’re watching the tournament at home, I encourage you to mix this delightful Kiwi Gin to cheer on the Black Ferns and All Blacks (and the other teams too, eh?), a refreshing gin cocktail with New Zealand accents in hand. The boys are vying to keep their third spot, but the girls can still (and will) make it to the top; heaps to toast to!!
Ingredients (serves 1):
6 ice cubes
1 lime
1 large, ripe passionfruit
4 tablespoons (2 fluid ounces) good quality chilled gin
1 teaspoon Manuka Honey
Place ice cubes in a shaker.
Peel a strip of lime peel, for garnish, and thoroughly squeeze lime juice over the ice. Scoop out passionfruit pulp into the shaker as well. Add chilled gin and Manuka Honey. Close tightly and shake energetically, about 50 seconds.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and garnish with lime peel.
Enjoy Kiwi Gin immediately. Cheers!!
