hi! niche (niche) German question for you: when writing a name that starts with 'von' that's not preceded by someone's first name, do you capitalise it? so Von Karma, rather than von Karma. my Dutch tendency is to capitalise 'von', but then Belgians don't do that (but lower case just looks so wrong imho).

oh i didnt know dutch capitalizes it! thats interesting. nah, germans go for lowercase too when its stuff like von, van, zu, etc. i guess it being a preposition has higher priority than it being part of a name :0c the one exception is of course when its at the beginning of a sentence

i agree that it looks weird when it isnt preceded by a first name, because the lowercase then makes it look like its part of the sentence rather than the name lmao. as per usual dutch people are smarter than us

Headcanon: Not yet friends, definitely not in Season One, but working towards more of a partners-in-crime relationship. Would help hide a body for the other through grudging respect, the innate need to support someone else that Geralt loves likes and neither can resist high quality bickering. “I’m only doing this for Geralt” becomes “Aw fuck you’re my friend now?? Shit.”

Heartcanon: Yen doesn’t hate his singing, or his poetry. She will never ever tell him this. Jaskier has a running joke that he’s definitely sown some wild oats around the Continent and she’s more than welcome to have one of his illegitimate children if she wants (this ofc all comes after some ~introspection~ about the fertility thing)

Gutcanon: Yen berates Jask for getting Ciri (when she’s older) into trouble and being a massively terrible influence. The reality is that she’s actually quite pleased that Ciri is having a chance to get up to youthful shenanigans (that neither she nor Geralt could) and at least Jaskier’s good at lying, so she won’t get into that much trouble when (not if) she gets caught.

Also he keeps getting into her potion supplies and she’s not really stopping him because she wants to see what’ll happen (WHY ISN’T HE AGING???)
