🍔 Updated review ━ 📍 Knifetown Burgers ★★★★★ • When we first visited Knifetown Burgers during the summer of 2020, they had just recently opened their small blue food wagon in an industrial lot in Knivsta, halfway between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Uppsala. We were actually blown away by how tasty our burger was, and they really put Knivsta on the map. This time we were able to try several of their burgers, among them their BBQ Burger with double cheddar, bacon, red onions, lettuce and smokey mayo for 95 SEK (11 USD). We added an extra 100-gram patty for 30 SEK (3.5 USD) and also upgraded to a meal with french fries and a soft drink for a total of 160 SEK (19 USD). • Our burgers came neatly wrapped in papper, served in a paper bag with a large portion of fries. And they looked magnificent when we unwrapped them, meticulously assembled with a great patty to bun ratio. The beef was just as juicy and tasty as we remembered it, even though it was on the verge of being too salty. The bacon added a nice, crispy texture and some smokey savoury flavours, and we would have liked something acidic to balance the flavours better. Last time, our only complaints were that the bun was a bit soft and that the cheese felt a bit gluey, and both of these things had now been addressed with an organic burger cheddar and a new bun that was soft yet firm and held a smattering of slightly crunchy sesame seeds on top. The other ingredients didn’t really stick out, but helped bring everything together. 🍔 Review № 417 ━ 📍 Knifetown Burgers ★★★★★ • Knifetown Burgers opened in the spring of 2020 in an industrial zone in Knivsta, between Stockholm Arlanda Airport och Uppsala. We finally reached the restaurant cart, located in an empty parking lot, and there wasn’t much going for it except for a few simple tables and chairs outside. Their burger menu consisted of 4 meat burgers and one with hallomi, costing 85-89 SEK (about 9 USD) for a single 100 gram patty. A lunch menu with french fries and a soft drink cost 95 SEK (10 USD). We ordered their BBQ burger with double cheddar slices, bacon, smokey mayo, frillice lettuce, red onions and a barbecue sauce. We also added an extra patty, and our 200 gram menu cost us 125 SEK (13 USD). • The piece of lettuce was a bit big, but apart from that the burger looked great. And it tasted even better. The patty was intensly beefy and juicy, with meat juices going everywhere after the first bite. The bun was very soft, but held together remarkably well and soaked up just about everything. We especially liked how the different textures worked together – with the crunchy bacon and crispy onions complementing the creamy mayo. Our only real complaint was that the cheese was a bit pastey, having completely melted into the patty, and that the barbecue sauce was a bit too sweet for our liking. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying our meal, and the freshly cooked french fries were crispy and filling. • A tasty burger always lifts our spirits, and it’s always fun finding such high quality as this in unexpected places.
