So, know not why by Hannah Johnson. Amazing book that sadly lacks a community do I'm coming to you. I first read it more than a year ago and loved it so much I immediately reread it and just yesterday I decided to reread it again and oh what a surprise I want to reread it again. This time I read toil and trouble (noticed that the author switched from first person to third person) and loved that it have more insight to other characters. When I first read the book I think there were only 5 pieces of fanfiction now there are 8!!!!!! I wish more people read it/talk about it. I feel like it has so much potential. Like Hello a witch au is right there!! Like imagine an au where Arthur is a witch and Howie is his familiar or something like that. Anyways I really love these books and wish I had more people to talk to. I know you said you aren't that active on this blog but hopefully you see this ask soon!!

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH IT IS A CRIME NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT LIKE I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW IT HAS NOT MADE THE ROUND ON HERE IT MAKES ME SO EMOTIONAL

What I love about it is that Howie is older (early 20s) and he struggles with that feeling of being stuck? Lots of the characters actually kinda struggle with being directionless which I think is really refreshing with older characters. And GOD the whole old friends vs new friends thing???? Finding people who understand you and are helping you evolve and grow emotionally and like internally but how you feel like an asshole for leaving behind your old friends????

and ofc HOWIE AND ARTHUR!!! SO KIND SO PATIENT SO REALISTIC!!!! I lovelovelove that they just LIKE each other and how their lives respectively are kinda shit but they find something light and good in each other and its NOT perfect but they try to hold on to that bubble as long as they can. AND THEN WHEN THEY DECIDE TO GET REAL OMGGGGGGGGG

the most gruesomely underrated book i have ever read is know not why by hannah johnson which is basically a rom-com about a brodude who gets a job at a craft store to Get Chicks, obviously, but then ends up falling for the male owner instead. the owner of the arts and crafts store is called artie kraft. please read it

Books I’ve Read In 2020 - Know Not Why By Hannah Johnson

Howie gets a job at Artie Kraft's Arts 'N Crafts hoping to score with his lady coworkers. After all, girls love a sensitive guy, and what's more sensitive than dedicating your life to selling yarn and ... stuff? (Okay, so maybe it'd be a good idea to actually learn what one sells at an arts 'n crafts store.) But things don't go exactly according to plan. Coworker #1 is Kristy: blonde, bubbly, unattainable perfection. Coworker #2 is Cora: tiny, much-pierced, and way too fierce to screw with in any sense. And Coworker #3 is, well, Arthur. It goes without saying that he’s not an option. Right?

… Right?

Yeah, Howie’s life just got straight up confusing.
