Meet Gabriel

Biographical Notes

Gabriel grew up in a very remote part of Canada, along the Rocky Mountain range. 

The Clan had little interaction with humans, either mortal or Witch. They did however interact with Werewolves and other supernatural species.

There are no other members of his Clan that can claim a Familiar Bond. He didn’t even hear of such a thing until a Werewolf traveler passing through mentioned it. The idea of it has fascinated Gabriel ever since. It took him well over a year to talk his Clan leaders into permitting him to try out a Magical school and see if he could meet a Witch willing to enter into a Familiar bond with him. 

Finally with their blessing, he enrolled in Hecate Academy and is here to see if this Bond is really a good idea. 

Gabriel is a strong, if young, Werebear. He is endlessly curious about the world and has a passion for stargazing. He has never met any of the water species such as the Kelpies or Selkies. 

He is protective and gentle. His temperament can be placid, but if you wound his pride, you may cost yourself his friendship. 

He can be naive and he knows nothing about pop culture or similar. 

His Clan has a very rudimentary education system so learning to be a student will be a challenge for him

Personal

Gabriel would be comfortable in either a monogamous (or closed foursome) relationship or in a poly-amorous one so long as he knows what is going on. 

Alternatively, he would be a good choice for a close or brotherly friendship type of Familiar bond, with each of them having their own lovers. 

Sexually he can be quite Dominant and enjoys control, however he isn’t quite aware yet how strong of a kink that is for him. 

He does have a sexual preference for women.

He also is quite tactile and into a high degree of coziness. The grandeur of the Werebear lodgings delights him. The beds are huge and very cozy. He will slowly be adding pillows and blankets until his personal den is the epitome of cosy.

He is attracted to things he finds beautiful or soft. 

Lingerie will be literally a huge and extremely pleasant surprise from him (who knew females wore scraps of fabric that seemed to serve no purpose other than look pretty on them???)

Introducing Tolivander Gabriel Albarron, Viscount Brooksbury

also known as The Second Son

Biography

His mother was a superstitious woman. His father dismissed it as paganism and scolded her frequently for her strict adherence to the family lore of luck and fate and not tempting either. His older brother, Samuel, was cut in their father’s mold and fit the dashing title of Viscount with style, conforming to the dawning age of enlightenment, reason and the pursuit of what might and could be known. Gabriel, was known as Tolly as a child, a nickname to which his mother still clings despite the fact that he is now well into his forties and frankly has gone by Gabriel for the last fifteen years.

As a young Spanish noblewoman born in the colony of New Spain, his mother was lured into marriage by his father, who apparently was rather dashing in his time, although Gabriel could not picture such a thing. Together they had four children, two sons and then after a span of over a decade, two daughters. Samuel was groomed for the title from infancy. As a hearty and hale boy and a young man of dashing arrogance, there was no need to presume that Gabriel would ever ascend to the title, which was just fine with him. He loved his family but his feet longed for adventure.

He was schooled at Oxford and once done, he found himself patching wounds as a field surgeon on battlefields far from home. Then, as other young men, returned to the comforts of home shores, Gabriel found himself visiting his mother’s people after a brief sojourn with the family in Exeter. The grand hacienda in the colony of New Spain was managed by a pair of passionate people that had been his maternal family’s retainers stretching back through generations. While he liked them immensely, he could tell there was a reservation there. At first he credited his English roots, finally abandoning his very English moniker for his middle name that flowed better with the Spanish speaking community.

Gabriel thrived and he fell in love, with not one person but two. It was a scandal and if he were home, he would never dream of acting on such feelings. However, he was far from home, reinvented and made anew. While all outward appearances were the respectable master of the house with his longstanding staff, in truth they were a triad content in each other company. He helped them raise their two daughters, whom he quickly thought of as his own. Letters between him and his family flowed, particularly with his mother and youngest sister, who was a remarkable writer filling each missive with such detailed descriptions of the world in which she inhabited that he often read them aloud to his adoptive family.

All was not calm in his world however. Tensions between the colony and Spain were boiling over and Gabriel knew which side his loyalties lay. He felt the people deserved stewardship of their land and their lives. As tensions peaked and waned, Gabriel grew ever more distant from his noble upbringing. He worked at the local hospitals and built himself a life. He visited his family in England infrequently. Every few years he would have a few suits made in the latest fashion, travel to the distant shores where his mother would lament his bronzed skin and work-roughened hands, even as she listened rapt to his tales of his life.

But still that superstition clung, even as new marvels were discovered every day. His mother had always proclaimed that bad things come in threes.

In Gabriel’s experience this is true and this past year, this adage has been brought home painfully to the man. An influenza epidemic swept though his community in New Spain, taking from him the two people he loved the most - Alessandro and Guilia. As he was laying them to rest and comforting the children his lovers had left behind, Gabriel received word of his brother’s passing. It brought him to his knees, grief clutching at his throat at the one death he never expected. Tragically his beloved elder brother, Samuel, had never had a child, which meant that on top of losing his loves and his brother, he was now the Viscount Brooksbury.

After depositing his beloved almost daughters with a family friend in Mexico City for their care and safekeeping, Gabriel turned over the hacienda and surrounding lands to a trusted manager and made the journey to England. He had a singular purpose. He would find a capable woman of independence and wit. He would wed that woman and beget upon her two children, a heir and a spare, hopefully in hasty order. Then he would return to his true home to live out the rest of his days.

Dark Past

Gabriel’s brother, the former Viscount Brooksbury, was a terrible man. Gabriel only remembered the boy he once was and not the man he became. Samuel Albarron was selfish, cruel and used people viciously. He has numerous former mistresses and by-blows left to rot in the orphanages and work houses. Gabriel has no idea and since one does not speak ill of the dead, is going to London blind as to the misery his sibling left in his wake.

Gabriel himself had a long standing romantic relationship with a couple. He was utterly enamoured with them and with their passing in succession right before learning of his brother’s death, Gabriel grieves them as much or more than his own family. He promised to protect their daughters to the best of his ability but has yet to discern how he may go about doing just that.
