it’s like 6am on a saturday here so i’m rly tired but i just had a thought so

do u think we could make a connection between dr2’s message of creating your own future because it belongs to you and nobody else + nagito having two terminal illnesses and generally being convinced his entire life that he would never have his own life or future because of his luck orrrr is that a stretch

So many of the messages of Danganronpa 2 are about living in the present and future rather than the past, second chances, and choosing your own path. This is what happens with all of the remnants. That's why I love that they all are confirmed to live so much. Nagito has mild character development thanks to Danganronpa 2.5 where he has to face the reality of his feelings, even if he can't come to terms with it or ever distance himself from his mindset because of how bad it has become, he still can admit it wasn't a bad dream and know that other possibilities exist. He can understand that happiness IS achievable. Basically: I don't think it's a stretch at all. :)
