the four courses of action when making statements:

run it past someone (it needs to be approved by someone else to be valid/shareable)

backtrack immediately when there is no immediate positive response (if you don’t react overwhelmingly positively my opinion is wrong and stupid and i’m abandoning it)

downplay its/my imput’s importance (it’s, like, whatever, it doesn’t matter)

don’t state it at all (safest option)
