Rrrrrrr! - he said
I kind of love that Cornelia Funke is including Polish language in her Reckless book. Kami’en’s son being called Kochany is so sweet.
DWOJE NAS
Dwoje nas pochylonych nad sobą patrzymy na daleki horyzont klaszcząc kiedy słońce odgrywa swój ostatni spektakl wieczorny mieszając kolory i chmury, a my też zdyszani spieszymy się by spełnić naszą historie przesiąknięci błękitem jesteśmy
hm
Do jutra najukochańszy, najsłodszy, ukochany, słoneczny, idę po schodach by ujrzeć najwyższy punkt z którego dojrzę nasze najskrytsze myśli, pragnienia i otwarte ramiona,
do jutra kochany - powtórzę i znów i znów kocham kocham kocham kocham kocham całuje mocno gorąco dotykam ciebie i czuję i wołam przekrzykując wszystkie odgłosy kochany !
"DWOJE NAS" (Maria Teresa von Orgeich)
(Review without spoiler) I FINISHED “THE SILVER TRACKS”
Annnnd idk. I liked it, but not as much as “Fearless”
The plot was interesting, but I think it was a little too slow in the first half. It was necessary (a lot of things, purposes and facts needed to be explained), so I’m fine with it, but it made the narration slower. There were a LOT of Point of View, and they were necessary to expose everybody’s intention (I know it’ my fault I like some POVs more than others).
But from the point where a certain escape happens it all get more involving, more actions were shown and I finally reconnected with the plot (and I loved the end, even if it let me frightened for someone and curious for others, finally I roughly know what is every character’s aim). It is reassuring, even if there is a bit of cliff-hanger and I obviously need another book.
In the end, it’s a good book and I needed new scenes with old and new characters.
SPOILER:
1. Fox is freaking pregnant, and I haven’t fully realized it yet. I feel like she and Jacob have passed too little time together. (I wanted them to talk about this child). And I feel so smart now because I had always expected them to have a daughter (Even if I’m not fully convinced by the name. Joie Reckless? I don’t know, but my ideas can always change). I hope the next book will start from where this left, maybe with a healed Fox.
2. The prophecy. It wasn’t the best worded one, but OMG OMG. Thinking about it, maybe they won’t kill Spieler in the next book, because it would be left to Joie’s laugh, but I’m not sure. Maybe the prophecy won’t even realise itself (like in Harry Potter, a prophecy comes true when you “make it” come true).
3. I hate Spieler. The way he manipulates Will? And Clara? And all he did to Rosamund? (I love her-> proceeds to steal a bit of her life to imprison her image, distorted to truly adore him, in a mirror) AND THE FACT THAT HE THINKS THAT IS LOVE, NO IDIOT, WHEN YOU LOVE SOMEONE, YOU DON’T ACT AS AN ASSHOLE. AND THE “ESSENCES OF DEAD BABIES TO CURE HEARTACHES”? AND 16?
I NEED WILL, SPECIFICALLY WILL, TO BEAT HIS ASS.
3. Will, poor little Will. I wasn’t a 16 fan, but I started to pity her in this book. Only to see her killed by Spieler? (The fact that she was created from Krieger: top). Will grew so much, and it was beautiful and bittersweet to finally see his relationship with his mother. And now I fear what will happen to him. There are two ways: Spieler returns to his palace and frees him but manipulates him to be on his side; or the Gang (and I want also Nerron in the Gang) manages to free him to kill Spieler all together. Another thing, I really liked how Will and Nerron miss each other (I want them to kiss like now).
4. Nerron, you piece of shit, I had forgotten how much of a cynic bastard you were. I spent half the book loving him and half the book wanting to slap him. I don’t know why but I always wanted him and Jacob to co-work (and become lowkey “friends”), but it’s almost impossible.
5. The gang (Fox, Hideo, Orlando and, now, Jacob): I don’t know. It took me a lot of time to fully appreciate Hideo, but now I think he’s as necessary as the others, but I don’t know how Jacob will interact (because he isn’t capable of it) with so many other people while searching Apuallo etc. And Orlando! I didn’t like him in “Heartless”, but now something has changed, and I feel slightly sorry for him. Anyways, they are all cunning and loyal and they could be as strong as it’s needed to destroy the elf.
6. Last but least, THE GOYLS. I like Hentzau more now (thank you @goylempire) and he and Kami’en were great, even if I’m slightly concerned by the way power and luxury are infecting him. (All the underground ecosystems, from the ones around Spieler’s castle to Kami’en’s palace ere golden). AND KOCHANY, OMG I LOVE HIM EVEN IF I CAN’T PRONOUNCE HIS NAME. AND HE AND JACOB, SO CUUUUTE. AND THE FAIRY AND...
way too much, now we’ll wait the next book.
Nerron: My prince, you are like an angel without wings.
Kochany: So, like a person?
To nie prawda, że jeśli kogoś się kocha to trzeba dać mu odejść. Jeśli się kogoś kocha, to walczy się o niego DO KOŃCA. Bez względu na okoliczności. Bo na tym właśnie polega miłość.
