This real medieval song is so him 😭 I have been meaning to edit it, but dang CapCut with their watermark halted all my projects.

this version is by Elthin, and it is my favorite cover of the song. The lyrics are in Middle French, which is after Baldwin’s era, and I left them like that in the captions, but I have previously translated/transcribed them into older Ancien Français for a scene for one of my books, where he is singing it. I sometimes take this kind of creative liberty with some anachronisms. I don’t think it’s such a big deal with a song like this.

I’m such a procrastinator that I have only just edited what I wanted to edit ten years ago, in high school. And it’s not even the full song xD The Last Stand edit (the current upload is from 2019, but the original upload was actually from 2016) always got me so pumped back then lol so I wanted to make my own with the Kerak scene but with this song 🥰

In the original lyrics and other versions this is included:

The language is trobador Old Occitain, what was frequently used for chansons and chansonettes, even by those Franks who were not Occitan. 💛💛💛 That’s why I use it in HCW sometimes.

And for example, Richard the Lionheart wrote in both d’Oil French and d’Oc 🦁

How old were you when it came out (if you had even been born bc I know there are a lot of very young ppl in the community lol)

I was 6 🤗 I remember the big ahh posters at the shopping center. One hanging outside on the building wall, of Baldwin in his battle mask all silvery with the beautiful typography of the title—what I remember is it being half of his mask, but it might have been his entire “face”, I can’t recall w total certainty; I was very little and had just moved from Africa to the Mainland so I was shook and displaced and my lil mind wasn’t right 😂😭 but the marketing was cool here in Spain because of the filming in Sevilla 💕
