Beledros Witherbloom vs Kolaghan
Beledros Witherbloom
Kolaghan
Championship Round for the hottest elder dragon!Which older dragon do you most have a thing for?
Beledros Witherbloom (Black+Green) An elder dragon of Arcavios who isn't afraid to get her claws dirty, she's the founder of the Witherbloom College of Essence Studies. Delving into the very secrets of nature, biology, life, and death. She makes her home in a magical swamp appreciating its biodiversity and probably also the volume of snackrifices. She lets her students decide if they'll use the knowledge and power her college offers to exploit and corrupt nature or nurture and protect it, but I think it's telling they have to learn about how an ecosystem works before doing either. But let's not just focus only on her academic accomplishments, this vivacious beast has one of the more unique collections of features among all the elder dragons; feathers, a mane of hair, a mix of more mammalian skin and scales, she defies any taxonomy applied to her with a charming grin on her face. If you're looking for a hot and thoughtful biology freak she's the dragon for you. The date is going well, she kicked it off off with a huge blood sacrifice to make every flower near the patio grow and bloom, the ambient light from her ribcage sets the mood, and her talk about her work and research has been very interesting and engaging. She's just given you a line about her interest in your personal microbiome asking if you'd like to come back to her swamp forest for further study... is she the one?
Kolaghan (Black+Red) Kolaghan is the only Tarkir elder dragon who doesn't speak, using roars, violent body language, and her lightning breath to communicate instead. She enjoys the hunt and the kill more than the meal afterwards, a thrill seeking predator with unmatched speed. She less rules her empire of raiders and dragon children and more strikes where her cruelty and unpredictability guide her while they follow in her wake. Only really popping in to kill anyone who attempts to rival her to assert her dominance. If you want a nonverbal draconic dominatrix that revels in mercilessly and swiftly hunting you, she's the dragon for you. Bratting her might be fun but short-lived (literally). The date is going well, bursting through the roof of the fast food joint to make it an open air dining experience, killing everyone else inside so you two could get some privacy. She's not eating but a very intent listener looking at you with her big smoldering yellow-orange eyes as you chat about your day. She occasionally chimes in with a growl or roar, and when you get flirty she rakes her claws across your back hard enough to draw blood but not deep enough to scrape bone or cut tendons. She's just let a blast of lightning out to blow the doors off their hinges for you (very chivalrous). She shoves you towards the door and it's clear she'd like you to run and even likes you enough to give you a head start before she pursues you, is she the one?

Propaganda under the cut:
Here's straight up my whole Kolaghan deck list for you! Its a very lean and stream lined mid range dragon deck built this way because i didnt want to build scion of the ur-dragon back in 2015. Its evolved alot since then.

Alright, personal decklist from years ago foiled out and updated, so you probably have considered most of what I could think of.
This first thing I'm thinking of is Anzrag's Rampage.
The deck currently doesn't have a way to deal with a mass of artifacts, and plays enough dragons that want to attack that you should find SOMETHING good off of it to get an attack in then draw to replace it.
This did send my brain thinking about other effects that cheat a creature into play. Theros Beyond Death Purphoros seems like a neat option as a haste granter (which the deck really likes, but already has a few of), that's hard to get rid of, and can also sneak attack dragons. Sneak Attack itself is an option of course, but I don't know how many dragons you typically have to spam out. But then I remembered something else.
Lifelink on large flying creatures is an excellent way to stay alive, and while lifegain is usually not that appealing, having some in a deck, particularly one that wants to swing out and leave itself open like this one, is a great way to be able to keep attacking without care. The second ability should also do plenty of work in this deck, bringing back a big dragon for another go is useful too, and knowing you have access to this might make people more wary of dealing with your stuff, if they know it'll come back to bite them, quite literally. This is a card that'll add resilience to your own life, and to your strategy.
Red
Magic the Gathering (MtG) is a card game created in 1993 that has continued into the modern day. While much of its success can be attributed to creative ideas in world building, gameplay, and characters, pieces of it are hinged on one of the games core concepts: the “Color Pie.” In Magic, every card is grouped into one of a few categories: White, Blue, Black, Red, Green, Colorless, and…

Finally finished the drawing I promised MONTHS AGO
I was lazy and procrastinated ugh you can tell where I switched programs
Saw a post in the magic tag that was basically this, and I wanted to split it up into two versions, for all the girlbosses and malewifes out there who need it. (Girlboss ver.)
