Carnitas Combo - Quesadilla, Burrito, Enchilada

I probably should have realized there was a problem immediately when walking into a Brady St restaurant at noon on a Saturday and find it almost completely empty. I ordered the carnitas combo that had a quesadilla (left), burrito (middle), and enchilada (right). What came out was simply disappointing. The beans were pasty and spicy (not particularly spicy, but I’m not used to any spiciness in beans). The rice was like cafeteria food, containing peas, corn, carrots, and green beans. The tortillas tasted commercial and didn’t see much heat before hitting the plate. The quesadilla didn’t have much cheese and was very average. The “burrito” in the middle....was not a burrito. I’m not sure what to call it, but it was a tortilla that had been rolled around pork and beans and is what I’d expect to defrost from the frozen section. The enchilada was the best of the trio, though it was like getting a B- in a remedial class. While it had some flavor, its sauce was pretty bland. The only thing I can actually praise was the salsa roja which was quite tasty, and I ate quite a lot of it to cover the mediocrity of everything else.
