Gigabash character overview: Kongkrete

I’m going to be real, I don’t think anyone following this game’s development would have ever predicted Kongkrete. But I suppose there’s humor in a building that can fight back in a kaiju setting.

Kongkrete is a ”lethal joke” character who can be quite deadly when used well. Some of his attacks are his attempt at copying the moves of other monsters. His ranged attacks where he coughs up gears also has a chance to use fuel tankers instead for extra damage, or even Giga Energy orbs you can quickly scoop up to give yourself more energy (if your enemy didn’t suck them up already). One of his block moves is him flashing all his lights and inflicting the most beloved of status effects in gaming; confusion, so if you ever get hit by this attack have fun with inverted controls for a bit. A fun extra detail about Kongkrete’s ultimate is that when he slams his face into the ground it leaves behind smiling faces.

Two of Kongkrete’s emotes also allows him to change skins in accordance with the environment of the arena, and standing still for a sec will hide your health bar, meaning you can camouflage and spring traps!

Design

Kongkrete is definitely the strangest character in the roster, and I can’t really find information saying if he was inspired by anything, but animate object monsters aren’t new to the kaiju genre, or Ultraman. Bullton and other successors are good examples.

Sadly there’s not much to talk about, but Kongkrete is literally just a sentient building.

Lore

Kongkrete is a pretty mysterious being, but he’s implied in his lore files to be a former human. The lead actor of the Rise of Gigaman movie I mentioned in the last overview in fact! He was a huge fan of Gigaman.

One day on set a kaiju attacked. Thankfully Gigaman took care of it, but one of GIgaman’s Giga Beams hit a building diorama, and this lead actor was right in front of it. The building glowed in response, and the actor went missing. The next day the building disappeared and left a square crater. Since then Kongkrete has appeared in the background of every Gigaman fight, hiding in plain sight. He would also just pop up out of nowhere one day anywhere in Japan, sometimes even in the middle of nowhere, and then disappear the next leaving that same square crater. His ultimate form was once even spotted near OtamaTEC HQ.

Interestingly, Kongkrete doesn’t just look like a building, he is a fully functioning one. People can go in and out of him without even noticing they were just in a kaiju.

There is the question of if he uses Giga Energy to repair his body, and if he can disassemble himself to travel long distances and appear elsewhere without leaving tracks.

In universe people who know of his existence are extremely unsettled by him, and are struggling to understand what it even wants. But I think it’s actually kinda obvious what Kongkrete wants. He just wants to watch kaiju fights! Especially if his hero Gigaman is involved.

To summarize: Kongkrete is a kaiju that came out of left field and is the only kaiju I know of that likes to observe other kaiju battles!

gigabash doesn't have the money from its sales going to a terrible human being who probably sends the royalties she makes from it to hate groups

gigabash doesn't have throngs of buttholes on twitter defending it saying "lol WOKEISTS are just being snowflakey again :o)"

it doesn't piss anyone off if you stream it on twitch

and it sure as hell doesn't have you killing goblins because they're fed up with slavery, and you killing them being treated as a GOOD thing
