Royal Palace in Königsberg, modern-day Kaliningrad, Russia
German vintage postcard
Honestly pretty upset about what happened to Königsberg Castle. It was a beautiful castle built by the Teutonic Order of Knights in the 1200's, blown up in WW2 by the British and later demolished completely by the soviets. It was then turned into an ugly robot looking Soviet building which was never completed because it partially collapsed into the castles foundation and then in 2024 even that was completely demolished.
🇷🇺: долго меня, конечно, не было, но я нарисовала много артов!
🇬🇧: Of course, I was not for a long time, but I drew a lot of art!
KONIGSBERG in Preussen -> now KALININGRAD / RUSSIA
Can Königsberg into Baltic?
Königsberg/Kaliningrad is a small exclave of Russia. Used to be part of West Prussia in Germany annexed during WW2 by the USSR and incorporated into the Russian SSR because it was too good of a naval base to give to Lithuania. So now Kaliningrad wants their independence and join the Baltic states.
