How they died headcanons:

Sho is the most important one he definitely died in an abandoned warehouse fire

Shiki: car accident but everyone else in the car (her family) survived

Kariya: I don't know how he died but it was a long time ago. He just acts like some young hipster similar to Hanekoma

Uzuki: natural causes

Joshua: he just phased himself into the UG illegally one day and never went back. He will let you think that he died though (stolen valor)

Konishi: library accident

Megumi: bad shrimp (cooked by Higashizawa)

Higashizawa: revenge for bad shrimp (not by Megumi of course, by someone else who survived the bad shrimp. Megumi forgave him)

in a small town like inaba, everyone knows everyone and it's no surprise that your current boyfriend and your ex boyfriend know each other

but naoki really wishes anyone other than yosuke would've been your ex! 

naoki already doesn't like yosuke a lot, but knowing that this was the guy you dated before him does bother him quite a bit

yosuke had always been a good boyfriend to you and the two of you split up on good terms, remaining friends afterwards, yet naoki does wish just a little bit that you'd dislike yosuke as well

deep down, naoki feels bad about how he thinks of yosuke, but he can't help himself

it also doesn't help that the two of you often run into yosuke during dates, since inaba is such a small city

whenever you go to the mall, yosuke is there. whenever you're at school, yosuke is there. even when you're eating at aiya or just walking near the river, yosuke is likely there as well! 

it bothers naoki, but over time, he learns to accept it. he knows that he has no reason to see yosuke as a rival, since you already made your choice: and you chose him, not yosuke! 

and eventually, he even manages to exchange a few words with yosuke and build a somewhat friendly relationship with him

while naoki will never be yosuke's friend, he can at least learn to tolerate him, for your sake
