I will say my problem with young women dating older men is not that I think 20 year olds can't consent or whatever, it's because it's illogical and reminiscent of a world we should have left behind at this point if we actually see men and women as equals. This isn't even my opinion it's a literal fact- the manosphere is freaking out over the decline of "trophy wife" marriages (young woman, wealthy older man) which happened because once women have financial independence they can actually prioritize themselves properly. In fact a lot of "gender wars" stuff online is just men having to face the fact women can choose now lol. If we skip 100 years in the future and there's 50/50 old woman young man and old man young woman age gap couple frequency I would care less. And it's totally possible that can happen if we are truly seen as equals. Just not the case right now.
Also in these marriages both people end up resenting each other anyway--the woman feels like her youth was wasted and the man knows she isn't in love with him. That's why you don't see 40+ year old women talking about the joys of being a tradwife, it's always a 19 year old with an old man.
That's #mytruth anyway...and I feel like it's not often brought up in these conversations. Everyone is primarily focused on consent and life experience when defending or denouncing these sorts of relationships I feel and kind of missing the larger picture. Straight up I will shame you for voluntarily replicating conditions that made every generation of women mentally insane idc if it's lana del rey coquette aesthetic
