Honestly? They'd look great together, but I don't know if they've ever really interacted in canon. The only time Kon even spoke about Jason was telling Tim he was wearing the Bad Robin's suit.
However, both have died and came back, both have major daddy issues, and both love leather, so idk. I don't really see them being anything more than fuckbuddies tbh.
Also, it would be really hard to separate this ship from Tim. He's the only reason either of them would ever interact, so he'd always be haunting their interactions. It would feel like Jason using Kon to get back at Tim, taunting him by stealing his friend, or Kon using Jason to get over Tim, be it through a break up or to stop pining.
The only way that I feel it could work properly is in a Jason lives Au, where they're on the same team, but as it stands, it's all style no substance.
Regarding your konjay au, how do you think Tim and Dick would react to what happened between Jay and Kon???
Refering to this ask.
Part of me thinks that Kon and Jason would keep that little affair under wraps. Just a folly of brokenhearted boys that they won't speak of ever again. But also? It's Kon. Poor guy would feel so guilty, like he cheated, so he'd blab about it to Tim out of the blue some days later with no details other than, 'I slept with your brother. Sort of.'
And Tim, in an attempt to be supportive because he's clueless to Kon's feelings, would bear the news with feigned nonchalance. Which would hurt Kon even more because, 'you don't care?' and 'why would I?'
(*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)
Which is just...devastating to Kon, to say the least. But he smiles and plays it cool and Tim does the same and for the first time ever - it's uncomfortable; it's awkward and unpleasant and both of them want to get away from each other.
Despite what he says though, Tim is not okay. He feels an irrational sense of betrayal and there's only one person Tim wants to take it out on.
Which leads to a vicious and ugly fight with Jason. And look, Tim isn't nice about it. He's hurt and he lashes out in terrible ways. Accusing Jason of using Kon to hurt Tim, that Tim will fuck him up for fucking with Kon's feelings, that Jason has reached new lows to play someone like this. Just so irrationally betrayed that he can't see straight.
Maybe for a time Jason would take it. And because Jason is Jason, he'd probably let Tim think whatever the fuck he wants just to get in his head and because miscommunication is the bat family way, but also? Jason tormenting Tim with a pointed, accusatory: 'why do you care so much?'
And to drive the knife in further: 'It wasn't me who hurt him.'
Which immediately alarms Tim because 'who?' but Jason won't tell him. He just snarls and shoves away from Tim, 'figure it out, Robin.'
But anyway, on to ₊˚⊹♡DickJay✧˖°.:
Because of course Dick hears about the fight between Tim and Jason. Probably from Tim, who was embarrassed for lashing out in such a mean way (and also because f e e l i n g s).
So Dick goes to check in on Jason who has been notably MIA since everything went down. Maybe he finds Jason on patrol and they sit on the ledge of some building overlooking the Alley, or maybe Dick breaks into Jason's house with comfort food and drinks so that they can powwow.
Either way, Jason doesn't fucking want to. Get lost.
But of course Dick isn't deterred. They sit in silence, an easy quiet until the tension in Jason's body ebbs away and it's him that relents with a grumbled, 'well? get on with it.'
Dick isn't there to lecture him or slap him on the wrist though. He's just... confused? Yeah. Confused on why since there was never anything [with Kon] there before. And when Jason retorts with a deadpan, 'rebound sex,' Dick is genuinely flummoxed because Jason isn't a rebound??
And ahhhhh the bittersweet vibes of the moment because Dick is really oblivious to Jason's unrequited feelings for him. And also unintentionally sweet to think Jason is more than a rebound pick-up, something quick and easy and convenient. But yeah, when Jason admits that the rebound was mutual, Dick gets it but is also alarmed because what? Who??
'Doesn't matter.' Jason would say, though he gets cheeky with the saddest of smirks when he tells Dick to hit him up if he's ever looking for a rebound himself.
Extra: Jason anticipating being told to apologize for Tim, but Dick waves him off and makes a truly tone deaf sort of comment about young loves and jealousy and 'you know how it is.' Only to realize as soon as he's said it that, wait. No? Jason missed out on those years, didn't he? And then Dick is perpetually OTL and Jason just pats his back because, 'don't worry about it, big bird. i didn't miss out on anything.'
Every time I visit your blog, I’m reminded of JayKon. And then I’m reminded of the fact that their stories are actually a bit similar, right down to dying at the hands of someone who hated them for no reason and their father/mentor figure trying to redeem said murderer. It’s actually criminal that they never get to interact in Canon, especially when Kon is actually close to like, the other members of the core Batfam
I know right?? That's what drew me in, really. All those parallels that largely get ignored
Hm. As far as I know, Titans United is the only place they really interact, but that comic seems more elseworld aka doesn't fit with established canon
Still, we should have more of them honestly
'course, that would require DC to properly integrate Kon into their new timeline
