i'm so tired and I don't really have any energy left to be working right now but oh well i guess that's what's happening.  yea sure just add a student in at the last moment whatever.  here's hoping they don't pick up like pretty much every student who has a makeup day with a different teacher.

my first student has been asleep the past couple days when I call her and it's ridiculously difficult to understand her or to be understood and there's just giant gaps of silence the whole time and it makes me cringe when I look at the clock and it's only been a minute and a half.  i was getting like, actually upset and restraining my lack of patience guh.  i

just feel like laying down and crying but no i took a job talking to people of course.  im really exhausted and i'm mad at my doctor because she made me feel like I couldn't ask to get my medication at least switched back or try a different medication because "oh no this is your SECOND and it's not working properly??  i really think you should just talk to a therapist" (no thank you fuck off)

I have this one student who's only shown up for one class since I started and I have to write a progress report for him??  I barely remember who he even is; the last time I talked to him was literally two weeks ago.  like son I've gone through a whirlwind of life since then why should i remember u

so I got a new student today which is fine (even though I'm leaving)

but like

they have a REALLY similar name to another student I have, so I didn't even think twice that it's the same person.

'til the person picking up the phone was a woman, while my other student was DEFINITELY a dude.  but I haven't talked to them in like 2 weeks, so I just kind of went with it like "dang I must've remembered wrong".  geeeeeeeeze

on the plus side, progress reports aren't very often and I won't have to do them again for another semester *w*  (which is 19 days, I guess?  so about once a month or so for these guys at least, since I work 5 days a week)

I think I just got a little overwhelmed with having to do three of them all at once??  especially for my first time.  like yikes that took forever. 

I trust I'll start taking better notes and noticing intonation/pitch stuff more though u o u  still on the learning curve

Maybe ask him to read snippets of classic literature in English? broaden his perspective on the language. and you could ask him to read from his favorite korean literature in english. So he can practice working with and around the language barrier?  reading from english books/works or translations of korrean books/works could also aid in growing his vocabulary.

Oh these are nice suggestions uou  I'm actually going through SAT vocab lists with him, giving him a new word or two a day.

But in the end, my job isn't really to help him expand his English as much as speak it as fluently as possible.  And out of all my students, he's probably the strongest in almost every area.  It's mostly like, "what can I tell you to improve in the way you speak English", more than strengthening their comprehensive english (that stands like a secondary role, and isn't necessarily something I can write as an error). 

I was mostly venting out of a feeling that I had to wrack my head to stretch for something for him to improve on, if only for the paperwork.  it was like english class all over again   ///flashbacks
