Ever since Kotone has fallen in love with her darling she has been trying really hard to get close to them, it may not be so obvious since she is naturally cheerful and friendly but holding such obsesive love for her darling make all her insecurities and deep loneliness not only come back to the surface but also become bigger and more bothersome

She can't help it, she wants to love her darling right but her broke heart and those ugly feeling she have tried to hide deep inside of her are slowly taking over her and taint her precious love for her darling, making her desperately make her darling like her

That is why she has been extra clingy and even more observant with her darling, she just wanted to be loved so bad she can't help but cling desperately to every bit of affection her darling give her, but at the same time it is that the same reason she gets to find out about the past of abuse her darling went throught

Once Kotone was able to hold a better control over her feelings and breath more calmly she finally took a good look at her darling and that is when she started to realice the small hints of discomfort, not towards her but towards the life itself, how you try to make yourself small or even invicible so no one could hurt you again how you try to get everything in your own so you wouldn't have to ask for help for anyone, how you tried to protect yourself so discreetly and yet so desperately

Kotone watched for a bit too long, she had a hard time looking away because, somehow, she felt like she could underestand her darling to some extent, for once Kotone felt like you two were the same, like if you two were equals and that let her have an easier time getting close to her darling, wich only leaded her to help her darling without even trying, to be able to smile at you without feeling like she was walking in eggshells, to let the relasionship grow naturally while also growing more and more protective

Over time Kotone was able to relax enough to feel like your relasionship has grow stronge in its own, you needed her just as much she needed you so she didn't had to fear losing you anymore, still one day when she looked at you and finally noticed how relaxed you looked, how you were able to just be you, lovely and vulnerable you, because you were with her, Kotone felt like time stopped, the thought of your past of abuse was something that would perpetually live in the back of her mind, a reminder of why she needs to protect you and don't let anyone get too close until both knew it was safe, but the fact that you were able to just breath and relax at her side it was a bit too much for her

You were safe at her side because she made sure of it, but the fact that you fell safe at her side it was like a reasurance and comfort, almost as if you were telling her that all she have gone throught and all she had struggled with has been completely worthy because it allowed her to reach this point

Makoto Yuki

After those years of loneliness and uncertany, falling in love has somehow managed to keep him grounded, it is just that he has a rather easy time getting to be part of his darling's life since he just follows them, both has grown closer surprisingly quick since Makoto just seems to underestand his darling's in an special way, after all, you are just perfect the way you are so there is no problem for him to become exactly what you need

The love he holds for you has leaded him to keep his eyes on you, not wanting to never lose track of you since he is quite scared of losing you, that is exactly why he have noticed the hints of that past of abuse rather easily, still he had to take a moment to double check because from one side he didn't wanted to asume and for the other this was heartbreaking, in his eyes you are just too good for your own good, you have so kind and sweet by accepting him in your life, to give him a home and someone to follow so to think that someone dared to take advantage of that kindness, to hurt you, it makes him feel sick

That is why Makoto decided to go out of his way even more to help his darling feel all better, he will become stronger, better, the best leader SEES could ask for and he will become the best at controlling his persona all just so you can relay on him, so you will feel safe at his side and so you know that there is someone in this world that can and will protect you if you ever need it

Makoto is stronge enough to actually get in a fight to protect you and will do it without hesitation, but his priority will always be you, he sticks at your side and always make sure you are and feel safe at all times, even if someone dares to do as much as say something bad about you he will always prioritize you over the offender, he needs to know that you are alright, before he makes this person pay (if he deems it worthy of the time wasted by being away from you)

Makoto really hopes that you will grow to feel comfortable at his side, that you will grow to be able to relay on him and feel safe enough to open up, to just be yourself without the fear that you may be hurt again, still he will never dare to demand it neither take it for granted that it will happen, he works every single day in winning your trust and proving that he is more than enough to protect you so the day he finally noticed that you actually have grown to feel safe at his side Makoto almost feels his heart stop out of the shock

A part of him doubted him, he thought that it may not be that easily and that he will have to do more and more to prove himself to you, that he will never be able to be enough for his darling but when he finally stopped to look at you and noticed the way you simply smile at him, being able to put the trust on him to just be free he felt overwhelmed with the happiness, relief and love, it is so much that he even feels like crying because, somehow it feels like he have done something good for once and, of course, this just makes him devote himself even more to his darling

Aigis

As an android that has been build for the battle Aigis has a hard time fully underestanding her feelings and what it is to be alive, she doesn't fully underestand even when she is well aware that she holds feelings, so when she fell in love with her darling she didn't even questioned it and just followed those feelings

Aigis is already weird since she lacks of what could count as common sense for everyone else after all those years of being alone and just known the battlefield that is why she simply let herself feel when she started to fall in love with her darling, she let her feelings grow until it became something so deep and passionate that it just grow to hurt, the fact that she wasn't able to understand those feelings at first have let it grow until it became the need to be at your side, the need to protect you and keep you safe out of fear of losing you that it is today

And because of that is that Aigis did extra efforts to get to be close of you, she didn't allowed anyone to take her away from you, she learned everything about you to heart and that is why she picked up in the little hints of past abused rather quickly, she notices the way you retrait back and tried to protect yourself from everything

It was dificult to tell if Aigis' mind didn't recognize it imediatly as the signals of you past of suffering because she was unable to fully underestand it or because she was too scared of the truth, whatever it was it was making her shut herself and grow even more scared of something happening to you, wich only leaded her to be more protective and clingy over you

Since Aigis was having a hard time speaking her mine off and expression her feelings without coming across as insensitive or not human enough she relayed in actions rather than in words, Aigis stayed at your side, as close as you allowed her and always make sure no one got closer than how you allowed it, she even made sure that no one ever pressured you to talk

Aigis was so focused on being able to protect you that the fact that you were growing to feel safe at her side was something she didn't considerated, she has already made up her mind to protect you for the rest of your life so realicing that now you actually fell safe at her side has been more like a pleseant surprise, she didn't exactly expected things to be like this because she would never force you to anything, but now that have happened it just gives her even more reasons to want to protect you

The first thing you noticed about Kamimoto Kotone wasn’t her smile, it was the way everyone else reacted to it. 

People softened around her—like they’d been waiting all day for something good and she just happened to be it. Conversations got lighter and laughter came easier. Even Jiyeon, who argued like it was a competitive sport, dialed it down around her. 

You didn’t trust people like that. 

“Stop overthinking,” Chaeyeon said, yanking your sleeve as she dragged you across campus. “It’s literally just coffee.” 

“You said that last time and I got stuck listening to Dahyun reenact a whole drama episode.” 

“Okay, but that was entertaining.” 

“For you.” 

She ignored that, “Also—you need friends that aren’t just me.” 

“I have friends.” 

“You tolerate people,” she corrected. “That’s different.” 

You rolled your eyes, but didn’t argue. Mostly because she wasn’t wrong. 

When you stepped into the cafe, the familiar chaos hit instantly—Jiyeon and Jiwoo mid-debate over an assignment, Nien practically folded over laughing, Dahyun animatedly explaining something no one asked for, Yubin half-asleep, Seoyeon and Kaede whispering like background NPCs with secrets. 

And then, Kotone. 

By the window, sunlight catching in her hair like it belonged there. 

She looked up, smiling at you. 

And yeah, you hated that it did something to you. 

“There she is!” Jiwoo called. “Our favorite grump.” 

“Don’t call her that,” Seoyeon said, then paused. “Actually, no, that fits.” 

You deadpanned, “I can leave.” 

“No, you can’t.” Chaeyeon said, shoving you into a chair. 

Across from Kotone. 

Of course. 

“Hi,” she said, like you’d met before. “You’re Y/n, right?” 

You nodded, “I’m pretty sure that’s the name that my parents gave me.” 

“I’ve heard a lot about you.” 

You glanced at Chaeyeon, who had suddenly found her drink fascinating. 

“...none of it’s true,” you said. 

Kotone laughed—soft, genuine. 

“I’ll decide that myself.” 

And just like that, she didn’t feel like a stranger anymore.

Your first study session with the group was a mistake, that’s what you told yourself, at least. 

It was supposed to be quiet, productive, and efficient. 

Instead, it was chaos. 

“Explain this again,” Jiyeon said, pointing at her notes like they’d personally offended her. 

“I just did,” Seoyeon sighed. 

“No, you explained it wrong.” 

“There’s only one way to explain it—” 

“You’re both wrong,” Nien cut in, not even looking up from her phone. 

“You’re not even studying,” Seoyeon snapped. 

“I’m emotionally supporting.” 

“That’s not a thing.” 

You tuned them out, focusing on your own work.

“You always sit like that when you’re concentrating,” Kotone said quietly beside you. 

You glanced at her, “Like what?” 

She mimicked your posture—slightly hunched, pen tapping rhythmically.

She grinned, “It’s cute.” 

You froze for half a second before looking back. 

“Focus on your own work.” 

“I am,” she said. “You just so happen to be part of it.” 

You didn’t respond. 

But you didn’t tell her to stop sitting so close, either.

It became a routine after that—study sessions in the library, cafe, and sometimes even empty classrooms when you needed quiet. 

Kotone always ended up next to you. 

Always. 

“Do you understand this?” she asked one afternoon, sliding her notebook toward you. 

You glanced at it, “Yeah. You’re overcomplicating it.” 

“I do that.” 

“I’ve noticed.” 

You took her pen, scribbling a simpler explanation. 

She watched you the whole time. 

Not the notes—you. 

“...what?” you said without looking up. 

“You’re really patient,” she said.

You scoffed, “You’re the only one who thinks that.” 

“I don’t think it, I see it.” 

You handed her the notebook back. “You’re done.” 

She didn’t look at it. 

“Thanks,” she said softly. 

You shrugged, already turning back to your own work. 

But your focus felt…off.

Midterms week hit like a truck—sleep schedules were nonexistent causing everyone to be stressed, irritable, running on caffeine and bad decisions. 

You were no exception. 

You’d been staring at the same page for ten minutes, brain refusing to cooperate. 

“Hey.” Kotone’s voice, gentle as always. 

You didn’t look up, “I’m fine.” 

“I didn’t ask if you were fine.”

“…I’m studying.”

“You’re staring.”

You exhaled sharply, dropping your pen. “I can’t focus.”

“That’s okay.”

“No, it’s not. I have three exams and—”

“Y/n.”

You stopped.

She slid something toward you.

Your usual drink.

“…when did you—”

“You looked like you needed it.”

You stared at it for a second before taking a sip.

It helped.

A little.

“Take a break,” she said.

“I don’t have time.”

“You do. Five minutes won’t ruin everything.”

You hesitated.

Then leaned back in your chair.

“…five minutes,” you said.

She smiled like you’d just accomplished something huge.

Five minutes turned into ten.

Ten turned into you both sitting on the floor between bookshelves, backs against the wall.

“You’re going to burn out,” she said.

“I don’t have time to burn out.”

“You do. Everyone does.”

You tilted your head back, staring at the ceiling. “You’re weirdly wise.”

“I try.”

Silence settled, comfortable.

“…why are you always so nice to me?” you asked suddenly.

Kotone blinked. “What kind of question is that?”

“A normal one.”

She thought for a moment.

“Because I like you,” she said simply.

Your heart did something annoying.

“…you barely know me.”

“I know enough.”

“Like what?” 

She smiled slightly. “You act like you don’t care, but you always make sure everyone has what they need during study sessions. You stay the latest. You explain things even when you’re tired. You remember things people tell you.”

You frowned. “That’s just basic decency.”

“Not everyone does it.”

You didn’t know what to say to that.

Another study session and another late night, though this time, it was just you and Kotone in an empty classroom. 

Rain tapped against the windows. 

“You’re quiet,” she said. 

“I’m always quiet.” 

“Not like this.” 

You sighed, rubbing your eyes. “Just tired.” 

She nodded, “Do you want help?” 

“With what?” 

“Anything.” 

You hesitated, then slid your notes toward her as she leaned closer, her shoulders brushing against yours. 

Your brain stopped working for a second. 

“...you’re distracted,” she said, a hint of amusement in her voice. 

“I’m not.” 

“You are.” 

“Shut up.” 

She laughed softly, and yeah, you were definitely in trouble. 

The rain was heavier when you finally left the library, standing under the building's overhang, watching it pour. 

“Forgot your umbrella again?” she asked. 

“Didn’t bring one.” 

She opened hers, “Come on.” 

“It’s small.” 

“We’ll make it work.” 

You stepped under it, closer than usual.

Closer than you’d ever been. 

The silence wasn’t awkward, just full. 

“You make things easier,” you said suddenly.

Kotone glanced at you, tilting her head. “Do I?” 

“Yeah.” 

She smiled softly, “You make things easier too, you know.” 

You shook your head, “Not really.” 

“You do for me.” 

You stopped walking.

She turned to you, the rain was loud around you.

“…I think I like you,” you said, because holding it in felt worse.

Kotone blinked, then she smiled—bright, warm, real.

“I was wondering when you’d figure that out.”

“That’s rude.”

She laughed. “I like you too.”

You nodded once, like that was enough.

But your hand found hers anyway, and she held on like she wasn’t letting go.

“I knew it!” Chaeyeon yelled, once she caught sight of the two of you together. 

The others looked over catching sight of you and Kotone holding hands.

Seoyeon looked relieved, “That took forever.” 

Jiyeon clapped, Dahyun fake cried, and Yubin had her head down fast asleep. 

Jiwoo leaned towards Kaede, whispering, “We’re geniuses.” 

Kaede nodded in agreement, “Obviously.” 

You sighed causing Kotone to squeeze your hand reassuringly. 

“This is never going away, is it?” you muttered. 

“Probably not.” 

You glanced at her as she smiled at you, and for once you didn’t mind everyone seeing it. 

Because this? This was proof—quiet, steady, and undeniable that even someone like you could even find something soft and keep it.

A/N: This is my first female idol x reader I have ever written so yeah

You enter the bakery, rubbing your hands together praying your teeth won't chatter but the prayers aren't doing much. But it's much warmer compared to the coldness of outside. You look out the window seeing christmas trees, red bows and ribbons draped on the stores, everyone in big puffy coats How come humans haven't adapted to this yet?

You decide you should order stuff so you'll warm up. You stand by the window staring at the menu. There croissants, bagels, toast, coffee, frappes. You'll probably get coffee.

The jingle of the bells go right through your ears. But what you do notice is a figure beside you. “ Kotone?” She greets you with a big smile in return. “ That's me. So what are you doing at this shop on Christmas? She asks. “ Well I just decided to do anything but sit at home you know. My flight got cancelled so I couldn't see my family.” ‘ I'm sorry to hear that. That happened to me to. Why God!!!” She shakes her fists at the sky and it does make you snicker.

“ Well what are you doing today?” It's your turn to ask. “ Ah just sight seeing taking pictures. Enjoying my time off work.” She brushes her hair back. “ For real . Going to take in this vacation as much as I can.” You huff. “ Good, so what are you getting?” “Uh I think a coffee.” “ Yuck.” you turn to get “Hey it's not my fault your body can't handle it. “ My body can handle but I just choose not to drink it I mean there's a thousand- better choices.” “ Umhm sureee kotone.” She grins at you staring into your eyes and you both laugh and look away.” So what are you getting?” You ask trying to ignore the feeling in your chest.

“ Oh a bagel and probably bacon. “ “ Plain.” “ Better than coffee. Plus you should get food too.” “ I don't know…” “ Hey listen.” “ Yeah?” You look at her blinking and she freezes for a split second, gaining control of her thoughts back. “ Try my bagel and if you like it I'll order another. I refuse to let you leave this place without eating.” “ Fine fine. I'll try it.”

Kotone bounces on her heels happily. “ Let's go order.”

So you two go to the counter and she orders for you then you grab a table. “So um. I want to talk about anything besides work.” Her foot taps the table leg as she slumps a bit in her chair. “ What about a girlfriend - I mean a boyfriend? No boyfriend on Christmas?” You slip up and cringe. Why the hell did you say that?

“ No no. No boyfriend. Or girlfriend on Christmas. How about you?” “ Nope none either.” You try to keep your face normal but you still cringe. Her straight face turns into a smile. “ I can be your fake girlfriend for today how about that? And it's not like we're breaking rules at work because one, we're not at the office, so yeah what you think?” She proposes, her own face cringing like she's expecting rejection. But you don't give it to her. “ Yeah you can be my girlfriend- my fake one!” You clarify wincing at your words once more. “You're cute.” “ Huh?” “ uhhh.” Her jaw drops at her own slip up. You two make eye contact and laugh. “ Anyways. The food here is pretty good right?” She continued, face obviously holding back laughter. “ Yeah but did you mean it, that I'm cute?” “ She nods blushing. “ I did I did.” “ I think you're really pretty too.” You confess slouching in your chair. “ Well it's a shame we work together, id ask you to be my girlfriend.”

Your smile drops and she sees it immediately. “But it's also a shame I like the break the rules sometimes. Y/N you wanna be mines?” “ Yes I do-” you cover your mouth. She grins proudly face a hue of pink. “Merry Christmas??” She shrugs with a nervous grin. “I love my gift.” You laugh.

Life has never been easy for her, she has been alone for the longest time, walking in this life all by her own and yet things seem to be changing bit by bit, after all even if now she is risking her life, joining SEES as well as enrolling into Gekkoukan High School has brought her really good things, she has now quite a lot of friends and she has been able to find you! It is dificult to explain, maybe it is just the fact that she is falling in love or simply the fact that you are so accepting of her, your presence alone is comforting, she can't help but feel completely reasured whenever you do as much as call out for her with a smile

And there was a mix of feelings within her when she found out that you were lost in the tartarus, she was worried and determinanted to save you, she was barely able to think straight until she found you, after all she was really scared!
